Hello Wendy…….I just saw this video as I was attempting to start my own meadow painting. I was out for a walk and took some beautiful shots of a meadow and woods nearby. Our Canadian autumns are so vivid and beautiful at this time of year. Thank you for this video….encouraging me to start!😍
Wendy, I’m really keen on trying the masking fluid. I’ve been working on a piece using a photo from a magazine. I sketched it out again and put the masking fluid on, let it dry, then did the background wash (first layer). I’m still very unsure of where to begin with pieces like this, so, I’m going to watch this video. I really like your approach to painting. I’m trying to capture the beautiful colors of azalea’s in the gardens now, the watermelon pinks and springtime greens are beautiful this time of year.
Hi Wendy! Im planning a similar piece, only I want to paint it in winter, with snow. Any tips on how to use masking fluid with a snowy field scene, with lots of browns in seed heads, straw, etc?
I may do something along those lines…no easy answer sorry. I do use lots of blue shadows on the snow to set off the white seed heads. We shall have to experiment 😀👍
Really appreciate your instructions
This is stunning

Love your painting however masking fluid is sooooo expensive! I'd love to see alternatives. Thanks❤
Thank you……The one I recommend in the description box is inexpensive …🙂
Thanks for sharing your painting. What seems to be unpaintable you make it possible for us to try too. Wim
Yes I agree it does look unpaintable 😀 You just need some masking fluid ….quite a lot 😀
