There were 5 Doublners then there were 4 Doublners, then there were 5 Doublners, Then there were 6 Doublners But there was never a time when there were too many Doublners, they were the greatest rocking folk band of all time, Long live The Dubliners, their songs, and their stories.
They deserve good spelling of their name , they re The Dubliners, no "o" please !!! And well, the bunch of old buggers ended up kicking the bucket one after the other. I guess the only one alive is Chris Moore, though he left the group a long time ago, and maybe Eamon, not 100%sure, hope so.
I don't think I've seen anything apart from this concert with Ronnie this drunk! Still sounds amazing though, and "travelling on the road and trying to forget" is a tricky life.
Might be because Drew is drunk as a skunk. Still sounds great. I am convinced that the Irish bands were genetically built different from other bands from that era.
This song is so sad as my uncle Danny mcdaid from Donegal died exactly like this in early 2013 and me daddy James Antony mcdaid was his only brother and our family from Donegal killed us inside 😢he was the best uncle I ever could have hoped for ❤
They were never the same after Ciaran left. Such an underrated, but integral member. They lost a lot of their "oomph" when he had to leave. He was what Tom Clancy was to the Clancy Brothers.
Check out The Stowes version! I believe Ronnie would very much adore they are carrying on trad Irish music. Especially being Cornish Lads by the way of Padstow.
Luke Kelly singing the backup voice here. Ciarán Bourke could not perform with The Dubliners due to his health condition after 1974. Although he was counted as a band member until his death in 1988. In those years The Dubliners never recruited a fifth band member. Personally I think Drew, Kelly, McKenna and Sheahan was a great line up. After the death of Luke Kelly in 1984 Cannon joined the group and finally 1988 Campbell joined as the fifth member.
Ronnie looks the most drunk I've ever seen him at this concert, there's a few other videos on RUclips, but he still sounds amazing. I suspect it was a few more than 11!

John, Sean and Paddy are still with us. Patsy as well, but he is not a real Dub from my point of view.
Jamesbradshaw good craic.this song is beautiful.
Jhyrtg he was probably full of drink as I am.good on him but what a great song
Dublin is not spelt like that you, spanner!
🎉my friends dad had pub on Fulham road Chelsea, the Dubliners came in one night they played all night and drank Guinness, brilliant

I am a real Dubliners fan, visited over 20 concerts, started in 1989.
At this gig, Ronnie was so drunk. Unbelievable!

A toast to the european treasure hold of culture when it comes to song, dance and music . May we always be brothers in culture.
Lovely version with Ronny and Luke singing.
really like this version because it's a bit slower

Seamus catharts song. He's from derrylin . His wife is from Donegal. RIP and he lives in Derry. God bless Seamus. A brilliant song.
Nice and slow version i like this one. Aye Maybe a pint to many. But a pint of ale can give wonderfull creations.

Lovely melody🌹
Would have loved Ciaran singing this one in the Background. Great character. 🕊️ Great version of Donegal Danny anyway.👍

@@born2sail Yes, I know that. Just wanted to say that I think, Ciarans voice would have fit into that chorus quite well. 😎👍🍀
Love them ❤
Love this song
A great song written by Phil Coulter who also wrote pop songs like 'Puppet on a String' and 'Congratulations'.
There is only one Ronnie Drew!
Dubliners are immortal
Ronnie looks like he was feeling this one. Or the eleven pints he had first.
Ronnie looks the most drunk I've ever seen him at this concert, there's a few other videos on RUclips, but he still sounds amazing. I suspect it was a few more than 11!
'Sloshed' but his amazing voice punches through it😂
could have been 14 pints of the old stout
