Why is the facing so wide?
Wouldn't it be prettier if it turned out the same size as traditional binding? Just curious the reasoning behind the size.

VERY CONFUSING FOR A BEGINNER.
So painful to watch.
Just watching (end of July 2020.) I’ve got a twin size quilt from my husbands great-grandmother that’s faced. Has held up beautifully but the batting -if any [can’t really tell anymore]- is thin. Had hoped to face a twin sized T-Shirt quilt [w/ cotton batting and cotton Sashing ‘anchoring’ each t shirt], but now I’m seriously doubting my idea to do Facing instead of Binding. I’ve got a strong feeling that the HS Grad’s mom will want to display it in his bedroom at home (she is being careful about what he is taking with him to College.)

Sorry I missed the live show, but I enjoyed the tutorial on facing. I have a couple of small pieces that might be good to try this technique. Just a comment about The Quilt Show - I often see things, and I think to myself, "I would never do that." But when I watch the guests I always learn something. Thanks for all you do!
