He didn't die, he was being drained of his energy from those bags that are inside of buu's body.

Remember Vegeta was mad when they got to supreme Kai's world because they both let their sons die.(but technically smart by Goku, because as long as dende is alive, they can use nameik dragon balls to wish earth back and even use those dragon balls to wish them bak later, since it was Gohan,goten & trunk's first time dying so the Earth DB's can wish them back, and use nameik ones to wish bak piccolo)
It sounds like you're using the word "immoral" when you want to use "amoral"instead. Beerus is amoral because he doesn't destroy for pleasure, but for purpose, and he fully understands that destruction can't exist without creation. Freeza is more immoral because he is selfish and enslaves others for his benefit.

I have watched the original Dragon Ball but I still don't understand why people trash on God. Goku doesn't even care that he has godly ki, he just wants to get stronger. He refused Kami's offer because he won't be able to fight and get stronger but he wanted to become a Super Saiyan God because he wanted to get stronger like he always does and obviously he wanted to save Earth.
GT might not have been the best but I love the fact that it gave Saiyans their tails back
