  • A 2009 R1 crashes, rider was OK and bike had no damage. The other were enjoying a great day on the Snake section of Mulholland Highway.

    The frame sliders definitely saved the bike from pretty serious damage. Also good job by the blue R1 rider on the emergency braking

      Is it me, or did the frame slider cause him to fall? It looks like the slider took the weight off the back tire when it hit the ground. Causing him to fall.

    1:37. Bike drives itself and trailing rider demonstrates PERFECT emergency stopping in a turn (could have saved half the riders on Mulholland).

      he locked up the front wheel. hardly perfect. not everyone has abs on their bikes, otherwise he would have fallen like a bowling pin

    That guy behind him had an amazing reaction time to that guy crashing. Saw the crash, picked up his bike mid-corner after going knee down and stopping in time to dodge his friend and not slip out on the dirt. That was amazing

    He didn't get hurt and his bike was fine. Id say thats a damn good day of riding. And the bike even did a loop and came right back to him!

    That's Mulholland highway to be exact, Mulholland starts atop The Hollywood bowl and goes pass Topanga where you catch Mulholland highway into Calabasas and then to Malibu via latigo canyon, which makes MH look like staight aways.

    Glad the R1 owner was okay and it was cool that his bike came right back around like "hey buuddy, what happened?" lol.
    btw, whats up with that one bike with LED strip headlights? Does it have race fairings and he put on those strips to be somewhat legal on the road?

    Those pegs are awesome, who makes those sliders. No damage on the bike...that's awesome. The sliders on my bike still lets my handle bare make contact with the ground.

    Was his chain adjusted right ...looked really tight in the pics at the end .... if to tight it dont allow the suspension to work like it should and could have caused that off....... just a thought.

    Looks like the crash was caused by him dragging too much rear brake. The black marks on the pavement seem to appear just before the crash -> locked-up rear wheel lowside?

      Didn't think about dragging the brake but deffo going to slow for that lean angle.. trouble these days with youtube, everyone watches a few videos and think there experts! Lol... me im stil learning everyday even after 30 odd years of riding!!

      You don't get leaned over that far in that corner and maintain your lane by going slow.
      If he was going slow he would have quickly crossed into the oncoming lane.
      I've ridden that road plenty of times.

      It just seemed like he was putting alot of weight on his inside footpeck. Complete wrong rider position. Doesn't look like he was breaking during that part of the corner i hope lol.
