Awesome tips here John. Paying your cards off before the statement date rather than just before the due date is a MASSIVELY underutilized tip that I try to preach on my channel as well. @@allygarska A lot of times, the statement close date can be tracked through your lenders app. If it doesn't directly give you the statement close date, you can see the start and end of your billing cycles on one of your statements and that end date would be your statement date. Hi John, thanks for the tips, I do have a question for the last tip If you reapply for the same card again to get their bonus again What happens to the card your already have? Do you have two Chase sapphire cards then? What would you do with it? Keep both? Does it combined to one card ? Do you cancel the one you already have? If you can answer these questions, it would be much appreciate, thank you!
HI John. Thanks again for such great content and simple explanations. Quick question around the last tip. Are you cancelling the existing card and then reapplying for a new card to get the bonus points? or are you holding it and applying for another card of the same?
Hi Jason, thanks for the question. For the most part I'm canceling the existing card then opening up again once I'm eligible. Now Amex is only 1 bonus per lifetime. But most banks are 24 - 48 months waiting period. Hope that helps!!
John you’re probably the most engaging and easy to understand person I follow on credit cards on YT, but I still don’t understand how to actually use the points and miles we accumulate correctly? Hey Jake! Thank you so much, that honestly means a lot and I’m glad you’re finding value in my content. Good job getting away from the nonsense disinformation that 30% utilisation is ok. That's very high and can harm an otherwise strong credit score. Too many influencers spreading nonsense. Best to aim for 5% or even 2%

@@TheRealSkiMask Either get added as an authorized user to someone else's card or... you don't. Majority of the score is paying on time and the longer you go the higher it gets.
Yeah, I have similar experience obtaining my currently highest card. When I applied and things begun to seem in limbo, I called my personal bank representative (my primary bank gives everyone one person and it's absolutely fabulous!) and he, knowing my accounts, recommended me dropping the application and requesting a loan on the count of lower interest rate. All I needed to do, was to explain, that I need card with high enough limit for blockations, when renting a car on business trips and my card's in my wallet.
I'm DCAing in MYSTICFLIP as well. ETH heavier DCA and ALGO. I'm taking your advice and starting Google tomorrow with a 50 dollar purchase and continuing Microsoft and Apple. VTI and VOO on another app and longterm portfolio. Here we go family!
For the last tip you shared, can we apply for the same card again while having that card? Is that what you meant? Or we would have to close that card and then reopen it?
Affan - great question and typically i would say no, very few cards let you have the card and apply again for the bonus. That was unfortunately during the hey day of credit card churning. Nowadays you have to close or product change the card you have. Best of luck and see you around!
Happy to! Though the boring answer is - it’s the same ones we use, they just have access to more services. I’ve actually been reached out to by Chase Private Bank to do more business with them. I don’t see much difference but happy to make a video on it! Thanks and see you around Joel!
Hi I just started following you. How do you prioritize which card to use the most for everyday? I have the Amex platinum and Bonvoy but also the chase sapphire reserve and don’t know which one is the best to use?
Hey Martin! Thanks for the sub and to answer you question it comes down to 2 things - do you want to optimize for your spend category or do you want to optimize for a certain type of currency. In the first case of optimize for spend I would use my Amex Gold for Grocery and Dining, Amex Plat for Airfare, CSR for Travel, and C1VX for all other. In the second case maybe I only strongly prefer Chase UR because they transfer to Hyatt so then I might use it for Airfare to earn 3x even thought the Amex Plat would earn me 5X. Hope that helps somewhat!
I have 2 questions. 1. Can you call each year for the same card about the retention offer? 2. I have 2 chase cards, and one of them I never use. Are you saying I can contact Chase and ask them if I can choose another card in place of the one I have that will benefit me more?
Can a husband and wife apply for the same card separately and both claim the welcome bonus effectively doubling the household's welcome bonus? Or do credit cards have measures to prevent these things? Along those same lines, can a husband refer his wife to a credit card and gain the referral bonus? Or is it something where the person referred has to live at another address?
Happy to David, though that will largely depend on how you plan to travel and where in world! I have a similar video, not exact but close that is coming out next week!
one thing I was curious about is that before you close a credit card, can you move all your credits on that card to another card within the same bank and close it? That way your total credit limit doesn’t change
i'm not so keen on point #9. using the chase example, in order to apply for the same card to get the bonus again, don't you have to close the existing card? and if you do that, you would shorten your average length of credit history. are the bonus points worth losing years of credit history?
If you need flexibility with your cash, it’s ok to keep your credit utilization at or below 25-30%. 15% or 5% is extreme unless you have the financial flexibility to pay that much.
Thanks in interesting approach for personal finance imo. I hope you don’t carry a balance month to month but this is just a slight production on monthly cash flow.
I carry a balance but it’s kind of a ghost balance per se? I use my AppleCard like a debit card and pay it often. Multiple times a month. I guess it just pushes my interest out further and I don’t end up getting charged as I pay down what would be the charges that should incur interest. Does that make sense? I use it like a debit card because I get 2 to 3% back Daily Cash back.
Inquiries within a 30 day period are suppose to count as one inquiry (since it is seen as shopping around for rates). This is understood for shopping for the best rate.
I bought a car in February. I only had 1 hard inquiry. Banks understand when you shop for a house or car your credit will be constantly pulled so I’m not sure why he’s saying this
Not for credit cards. Mortgage i believe, not credit cards - they are separate. Take it from a guy who has applied for 3 cards in 1 day. 3 hits, not combined 😅
i recently purchased a new car. the dealership farmed out the loan amount and i got five dings within minutes. so it may not be true for auto loans either.
Don’t do it and see what they day, if they ask you to unfreeze it means they wanna pull. I would not take a pull i would apply for another card to get a bonus and also get more credit. Hope that helps Jose and see you around!
Don’t forget to call the banks and ask them to increase your credit limit on your cards. This will ease off your credit utilization especially if you have them low like me when I had 2-5k and I was buying furniture 😬
@@OttoKolben dude that’s awesome if that’s the case I hope it remains that way. They’ve given me two increases recently and all I did was utilize it a lot and pay it mostly off. Surprising honestly.
Hello! Your videos are really helpful! Thank you. Can you make a video on advice for newcomers into the states? Like what are trifectas, or different dates on credit cards (like statements date) and when those dates are, what the best practices and cards for newcomers at 25 or above.
To get the same bonus 2 years later, don't you have to have canceled the card? In other words, doesn't the first card either have to have gone dormant or you had to have closed it out?
John, how do you feel about maxing out credit cards but pay them in full every 1st and every 15th of the month. (2 payments, paying in full every month) Does this annoys the banks? or, is this technique creating issues of any kind?
Thank you for the tips. I have a question on point 1. Once I have credit card say chase sapphire. To get another bonus in 24/48 months, should I close the card and reapply?
Happy to help Chirag! So the short answer is yes you should ideally not be holding the same product when you apply again. 2 options, either you close the card before you apple again or your change the card to a different product known as a product change. You can downgrade it to a Chase Freedom so you still get to keep you account history if you use the account a lot. Hope that helps and I’ll see you around!!
when you say to reapply after 48 months for the same card to get another bonus, what exactly is that process like? Do you close the original card first? Would you close the original card maybe after 1 year and then reapply? Can you explain that process, please?
You can usually product change your card to a different card in the same family and then reapply for the original card. This way your account doesn’t close and you keep your history associated with that card.
The steps are going to vary from one issuer to the next, but generally speaking you ask the card issuer to change the card to another card (usually a lower tier card). After 3-4 years you can usually re-apply for that original card AND qualify for the current sign-up bonus. If they don't allow you to change tier cards, you can close the account (though think long and hard before doing so) and 3-4 years later re-apply for the sign up bonus. Again, this isn't a guarantee and not all credit card issuers operate the same. So definitely check the terms and policies before attempting this. Remember that a slight drop in your score is only a big deal if you're looking to apply for a loan or credit card in the very immediate future. Short of that, give it a few months and you'll climb back up. Just plan ahead and you should be fine.
@@ianwalton403 Is there a time limit to wait after product changing? For example, I've had the Chase Sapphire Preferred for a few years now but want to reapply for it, can I product change, wait a month, and then reapply? Thanks for the help!
Another question I have is, once I have a card that has an annual fee, should I close the card after sometime? Should I downgrade the card? Or should I let it be open and continue paying the fees? This is something I haven’t understand about this game. Thank you
Great question - so this will be something that depends on you and how much value you get from the card. For example my favorite card is the Capital One Venture X. The annual fee of that card is $395 a year, however it comes with an aggregate of $400 in travel credit. So that card actually pays me $5 - crazy! I also have a Bank of America Alaska Airlines card, it has a $95 annual fee, no credits that I find useful. So I only open that card for a bonus and close it after 12 months. Hope that helps!
So my rent as of now I’m paying $939 but it’ll go up in March I plan on possibly getting the card in addition to rent will also use it on gas since I have to have 5 purchases in order to get points. Would this be a good card I should consider getting if only gonna use it on those 5 same transactions every month?
You said in this vid, apply for the same card after x period of time to get the bonus once again. But, can You actually apply for the same card You currently hold? Or You have to close the one you have now and only then reapply for it?
Nope. I've been paying off my balance before the statement date so that when the statement date comes, my balance was zero. I continue to earn cash back.
Josh - great question and yes if they are the card family/bank examples would Chase Freedom and Sapphire credit limits are interchangeable and can be combined in that way. Hope that helps!
I think the only difference may be the "Lock" is a special feature of a particular bureau while a freeze is standard across all of them. I would go with freezing
How about decreasing APY? My first card was approved at 25%. I still have it open for a longer credit history. Can reapplying for the same card potentially decrease your APY? And does this count as closing the account?
There is no point in reducing apr (apy is for checking accounts) you won’t be paying them anyway, however if you need a card for emergencies then get one of those no rewards cards with super low rates.
Great question Keanu - however I would strongly encourage you to pay on time and in full so you don’t need to worry about APR. In fact if you’re having credit card trouble I’d focus on getting that debt managed - 0% balance transfer cards are an option thought double check the transfer feee. Once that’s in control then you can get back to the fun cards. Hope that helps, sorry i don’t have a good answer. See you around!
Question: Can I close capital venture and apply next year to take advantage of the sign up bonus? Perhaps next year with the Venture X? What are the limitations behind doing this? or they’ll simply block you from applying at some point…
A friend of mine has Venture and applied for the Venture X. They got the bonus. I think they're technically different cards. It should work for you but don't take my word for it.
I have the same question as Rubin… how do I go about applying for a card that I already have? I have had the same bank (changed products a few years ago) for like 15 years. How can I reapply and get the bonus again?
Jeff - happy to help. Find the card you want to get, then go to the terms and condition and see if there is language that says what the limits are for the bonus. Usually you can’t be holding the same card you want the bonus for. Best of luck and see you around!

Why isn’t the closement date the same as the due date. Every time I pay off my credit card and I use it again, a week later I get a bill for the amount I owe for the one week I use it.
Got the freedom student card back in March 2020, they kept emailing me. I banked with chase all my life but, I was about to graduate so I didn’t think it would be smart. Anyways I got it and I’ve been learning how to build my credit through lots of RUclips since then. I was going to close it since I got the welcome bonus and wanted the regular freedom and it was only a short credit history anyways so wouldn’t have much impact. Recently, (nov 2022) I tried to use a friend’s referral to grab the intro bonus on the regular freedom card and they denied me. When the explanation letter came in the mail it said I already had the card type and I was super confused but, they also sent a new regular freedom card. Upon checking my chase app they changed mine from the freedom student to regular freedom so I missed out on the bonus. I’m still technically a student so I secure messaged them yesterday to see if there was anything they could do to let me get a bonus offer or at least some points. Wish me luck! 😮💨
I just listen this like 2 hours ago and i call my credit card that I applied and got denied on 8/11/2022 and i told then pls to reconsider again about my application and they agreed but i need to start over again but this time no hard enquire , so let see what happen , I couldn’t believe it i can do that , i learn something today . I will give you all an update … btw i got 13 credit cards and this is gonna be the 14th and for the note i have a BK cause of my divorced 4 years ago . Just for ur info : once i applied 12 cc in one day and i got 9 approved with good amounts limit , for me this is good benefits cause i just need 2 years in the same day and all 12 hard inquiries gone . But this is only my opinions and work for me . For the update : they still denied me … sad . I have the best payment history but somehow they say no on me
I always get confused when people say pay off you balance the day before your statement closing date to increase your credit. But if the payment is still pending and not cleared by that bank yet, how does that work?
The banks typically will push that payment through before closing the statement. I’ve done it several times. However, I usually pay in full on due date and catch any pending payments that have posted after due date before the statement date. I also stop using my card between due date and statement date so my card issuer reports a very low or zero balance to my credit. I use a different card during that time, rinse and repeat.
I pay my credit cards through the chase pay your bill feature on my checking account and I just pay my credit card everyday for whatever I purchased on my card that day. So I’ll add up my charges for the day and then at night pay it. Makes it easier for me to budget my money and not over spending
Great video. I have a question.. I once over paid on my CC account. Example.. i pay regularly in full but one day i paid about 300 extra by accident so even though my limit was 1.5k on my account i had 1.8K on the card. Was there any benefit in doing this?
Hi John! Thanks for all your advices 👍🏼 To get the signup bonus every 2 years with BOA Alaska airline card should i cancel the card after two year and apply straight for the same or one ? Or i just need to contact them and asking them to get again the signup bonus? Thanks by advance for your answer!
Would also like to know how people go about this. I assume with Chase you're just downgrading the card and then waiting the 4 years but is that the same across the board?
He’s saying you would keep the same card/account but call the company as if you wanted to close the card and get their retention offer. The company would apply the bonus as if it were a new card. wouldn’t want to close a two year card and lose the age of the card.
Question, I recently tried to apply to the AMEX Gold CC it said I wasn't eligible for the welcome bonus. Due to multiple potential reasons. Credit card open/close rates. Last one I opened was about 11 months ago. However I do have about 9ish cards. Do you know what I can do to get around this? Pay in full each month.
So if you pay down the balance before the statement end date, does that effect the amount of points you earn? Will you get less for not letting the full amount hit the statement end date?
Hi, Thanks for your video! Your best two tips are: Pay on time, and pay in full. Totally agree! I just came across your channel, so perhaps you discuss this in another video, but here is my question: If/when we open a cc account for the bonus, spend the necessary $1K-$4K in the 90 days (to qualify for the bonus), but then have no further need of that credit card - how long should we wait before closing the account? We have a number of long term cards that we use regularly (for bonuses on different categories), so is there any benefit to holding this new card open for a year before closing it, or is it just as fine to close right after receiving the bonus? Thanks.
Having a card, even if seldom used, increases your utilization score. Just buy a tank of gas or a gumball every year, so they don't close your card for inactivity.
Thanks for the question! So I’m going to hit you with a it depends. When I was heavy in the credit card game and opening 12 cards a year for non-Amex card I would close in 90 - 120 days. For Amex card I closed at month 13 because they have a tendency to claw back. But if you have only a few cards and these cards are adding a lot to your credit line you may want to think about it again. But honestly I wouldn’t think twice about closing once it has served it’s purpose of getting me my points. Best of luck!
Much of what you said doesn't apply to Capital One. They do not do retention offers and actually seem happy to see you go. You can't shift credit. There is no reconsideration line and phone agents aren't able to do a real reconsideration. Product changes are very difficult, etc.
Please explain how you can have two of the same cards. I tried to do that with chase and they told me I could not apply for the card if I already had it.
Hi John, I opened a Venture X in May and got the bonus points (75k) and just opened a Hilton Honors AMEX and they said I didn't qualify for the bonus points. So u happen to know why?
If I have both the Chase Flex and Unlimited and also the have the Chase Sapphire preferred and its been 48 since I've had the CSP, how do I get the CSP bonus again?
Flash thanks for the question and congrats on your first card. No secret, just takes time. Like the commenter above at the 1 year mar I’d get another card. Just make sure to ALWAYS pay on time and in full! Best of luck and see you around!
I also do not understand why you get dinged for a high credit utilization rate. For me, as long as you are able to pay even the minimum, they should not penalize you because after all, it is helping these credit card companies.
It just shows risk that’s all. At the end of the day credit cards are unsecured loans, the more you use the more you “borrow” and that is inherently risky for a bank 🤷🏻♂️
I found out that most bank terminals have keys you can use on keypad to navigate up and down from your account and withdraw from other accounts I told bank they got me write loss prevention letter and said they can't fix due to cost of fixing all terminals
you can keep your credit constantly frozen. then when you anticipate that it will be pulled, create a temporary lift (or unfreeze) for a span of time of your choosing. for example, at the car dealership, when they ask to check my credit, i would use a phone/tablet to get to the credit agency they will look at, set a lift starting today and end the lift tomorrow. that credit agency will then open it up immediately and automatically freeze it back up tomorrow. you don't have to go back to re-freeze it with a temporary lift.
Thank you for the tips! For your last hack, would I reapply for a chase sapphire 24-48 months after originally opening up an account? Or am I reapplying 24-48 months after closing/downgrading my original sapphire card?
I spoke with a Chase Banker so if i recall it is when you last got the bonus but you can only have one card so you need to downgrade or close the account in order to apply for a new bonus but I recall Chase has been more strict since the pandemic because people are not long term customers so you will need to keep it open for atleast 2-3 years before closing/downgrading.
I’m 30 and have an 800+ score. I’ve been researching and think I want to start building points for travel through several banks. I’m thinking of the chase trifecta, Amex Gold and the capital 1 venture X. I’m wondering what your suggested order of operations would be and if you would add or substitute anything. I know chase has the 5/24, so probably work through those first, but otherwise, do you have any thoughts? For context, I’ve had the Costco citi card for years, which has been fine, but I want to start maximizing credit benefits.
CSP is always a good card to start with in my opinion, amex gold with that 90k offer is great as well. For that higher tier card venture x pays for itself in value, BUT isnt the best if you book directly with airlines(same for CSR), i would look at hotel cards too if you travel as some will come with free nights/status
@@Tony36847 what?! Are you secretly working for AMEX? For the Venture X’s annual $300 travel credit, there are no hoops to jump through. You charge it on something “travel” related and they give you the credit. With AMEX you have to enroll for every benefit, select the airline, only one airline, to use the airline credit, you have book through their website for every benefit to include the hotel credit. Very tedious and annoying process. I don’t know how you’re having a hard time using the Venture X, but that’s insane.

If you have multiple cards and few them have very small credit limit and others have bigger balance what to pay off first small cards or bigger balance
Depends on your personality. If you think it will help you to stay motivated by paying off a card quickly, go with the smallest balance. But if you think you can stay motivated, you'll save more money by paying off the cards with the highest rates first. The two ways are identical on your credit report.

Great content as always, can you do a video about which bank accounts do the wealthy use?
Yes on #2 call and ask for a product change specialist
No it's like only once every few years.

Can a husband and wife apply for the same card separately and both claim the welcome bonus effectively doubling the household's welcome bonus? Or do credit cards have measures to prevent these things? Along those same lines, can a husband refer his wife to a credit card and gain the referral bonus? Or is it something where the person referred has to live at another address?

one thing I was curious about is that before you close a credit card, can you move all your credits on that card to another card within the same bank and close it?
I just called Chase for a retention offer of my Sapphire Preferred card. Looks like there is no retention offer for me or this card from Chase.
👆🏻👆🏻I brought a cc from best vendor I know and very trustworthy. He sell cc,fullz,Bank,Drops, cash app,PayPal transfer and Dumps 👆🏻👆🏻
Ya Chase is iffy 😅
Inquiries within a 30 day period are suppose to count as one inquiry (since it is seen as shopping around for rates). This is understood for shopping for the best rate.
I agree. I heard about that too.
Do I have to unfreeze my credit when requesting credit limit increase?
👆🏻👆🏻Someone posted this guy yesterday and I tried him he is real I just got my Approval 👆🏻👆🏻
Yes because they usu run your credit
Don’t do it and see what they day, if they ask you to unfreeze it means they wanna pull. I would not take a pull i would apply for another card to get a bonus and also get more credit. Hope that helps Jose and see you around!
Don’t forget to call the banks and ask them to increase your credit limit on your cards. This will ease off your credit utilization especially if you have them low like me when I had 2-5k and I was buying furniture 😬
You’d probably be better off applying for a new line of credit
@@ThePolarSunlight raising your credit limit doesn’t affect your credit score. There’s no hard inquiry . That’s why you raise the limits
@@koreyg8552 no, not all banks are like that. Chase for example will run a HI if you requested an increase.
@@LifelsGreat They didn’t made the HI on me and just gave me the increase right away on the phone..

Start with Discover It Secured and after 6-8 months, get to Chase cards
👆🏻👆🏻Someone posted this guy yesterday and I tried him he is real I just got my Approval 👆🏻👆🏻
Are you asking what the statement dates are on cards you don't actually have 🤷🏼♂️ your question is odd
I’ll get it on the list, welcome to channel Shrinidhi and I’ll see you around!
To get the same bonus 2 years later, don't you have to have canceled the card? In other words, doesn't the first card either have to have gone dormant or you had to have closed it out?
When you got the Alaska airlines second sign on bonus did you have to cancel the original card?
John, how do you feel about maxing out credit cards but pay them in full every 1st and every 15th of the month. (2 payments, paying in full every month)
Does this annoys the banks? or, is this technique creating issues of any kind?
Mmm I’d be cautious only because your utilization may “appear” very high owning when you’re closing date is. Even though you’ll pay in its entirety

What a smart cookie. 👍💯
Great presentation. If you pay off your balance before the end of the billing cycle does this negate the cash back earned for that month?
Nope. I've been paying off my balance before the statement date so that when the statement date comes, my balance was zero. I continue to earn cash back.
Can you move your credit from card 1 to card 2 and then cancel card 1 but keep that credit on card 2? Then reapply for card 1?
👆🏻👆🏻Someone posted this guy yesterday and I tried him he is real I just got my Approval 👆🏻👆🏻
Josh - great question and yes if they are the card family/bank examples would Chase Freedom and Sapphire credit limits are interchangeable and can be combined in that way. Hope that helps!

For all of my chase credit cards the close date is 3 days after my due date. Does that mean I should just pay it on the due date ?
Is freezing the credit report the same as having it locked?
I think the only difference may be the "Lock" is a special feature of a particular bureau while a freeze is standard across all of them. I would go with freezing
Do you have to cancel the card before you can reapply the card for bonuses again?
👆🏻👆🏻Someone posted this guy yesterday and I tried him he is real I just got my Approval 👆🏻👆🏻
Not always- you can do a product change too. Thanks for the question and see you around!
Question:
Can I close capital venture and apply next year to take advantage of the sign up bonus? Perhaps next year with the Venture X?
What are the limitations behind doing this? or they’ll simply block you from applying at some point…
A friend of mine has Venture and applied for the Venture X. They got the bonus. I think they're technically different cards. It should work for you but don't take my word for it.
I have the same question as Rubin… how do I go about applying for a card that I already have? I have had the same bank (changed products a few years ago) for like 15 years. How can I reapply and get the bonus again?
👆🏻👆🏻Someone posted this guy yesterday and I tried him he is real I just got my Approval 👆🏻👆🏻

That's so annoying!! Worse case you could just apply for the Freedom Unlimited or the Freedom Flex, hope that helps!

You can always pay even earlier if there is a lag from the bank process said, hope that helps!
Great video. I have a question.. I once over paid on my CC account. Example.. i pay regularly in full but one day i paid about 300 extra by accident so even though my limit was 1.5k on my account i had 1.8K on the card. Was there any benefit in doing this?

Hi John! Thanks for all your advices 👍🏼
To get the signup bonus every 2 years with BOA Alaska airline card should i cancel the card after two year and apply straight for the same or one ?
Credit card with $ balance (cloned) available via a source on my RUclips name!
Mails directly to you within the states!
Bruh. U closed one to escape annual fee. You’re in jail. Try again in a few yrs. But use ur Amex cards. Often
So if you pay down the balance before the statement end date, does that effect the amount of points you earn? Will you get less for not letting the full amount hit the statement end date?
Not likely, all my cards the points get accumulated as soon as I make a purchase, it takes about 2 or 3 days maximum for them to show up.
Good question Nevin and no. The minute you swipe that card you’ve earned the points (unless you return the item). See you around!
Aren't your points calculated, with most cards, based on the statement date amount? Aren't you losing out on points if you pay it early?
No
Good question Tom and nope - you get the points once you swipe that card! Haha only returns will take them back
Hi, Thanks for your video!

I also do not understand why you get dinged for a high credit utilization rate. For me, as long as you are able to pay even the minimum, they should not penalize you because after all, it is helping these credit card companies.
They'll think there's something going on and you're a credit risk.
I just doesn’t make sense when you are on time with payments. Clearly they are losing out on these clients.

How long can we keep our credit frozen exactly? Like can we just leave it frozen for most of our life until we need it unfrozen?
you can keep your credit constantly frozen. then when you anticipate that it will be pulled, create a temporary lift (or unfreeze) for a span of time of your choosing. for example, at the car dealership, when they ask to check my credit, i would use a phone/tablet to get to the credit agency they will look at, set a lift starting today and end the lift tomorrow. that credit agency will then open it up immediately and automatically freeze it back up tomorrow. you don't have to go back to re-freeze it with a temporary lift.

I find the venture x travel credit too hard to use. Suggest considering amex platinum or CSR
@@jamesbeyer Mate for the venture x don't you have to redeem via the cap one travel, CSR is the one where its $300 credit where its automatically applied when its travel related
@@kenny9633 I have CSR and that’s true. I’m not sure how the venture works as I don’t have it yet. That’s my understanding from what I read and RUclips videos.
The two ways are identical on your credit report.

any idea why my credit hasnt improved? i have 4 credit cards that I have never been late on for 2 years and pay a car payment and its just stuck around 680
Look for credit limit increase. That helps. Also sometimes it just takes time for it raise
What's your utilization on each card?
citi venture is only giving 60000 now
That’s not a card
Hello John,
Awesome video !!! Enjoyed all of your credit card tips. I just found your RUclips page.
Question: How can I find out which is my oldest credit card? I have so many and I don't know which I got first. Does Credit Karma have this option? If it does can you tell me where to find it in the Credit Karma web page?
Hi Julio! Thanks for checking out the page and yup you should be able to see it on Credit Karma. The other option you have is you can get a free credit report from all 3 credit bureaus once a year from annualcreditreport.com - that could tell you as well. But go for Credit Karma first, it’s free too and the user interface is better. Best of luck and I’ll see you around!
