- When it comes to hauling people and/or stuff, there is hardly a more practical vehicle than the modern minivan. Sure, they are not the coolest vehicles on the road, but Kia aims to change that with their Carnival MPV.
Refusing to call this sliding door wonder a "minivan", Kia dubbed their Sedona replacement an MPV or multi-purpose vehicle. In this quick spin around the interior of the 2023 LX (with seat package) model we prove that moniker to be correct. The flexibility of this interior means you can take up to 8 people or store over 145 cubic feet of stuff. The trick feature of this model is Kia's "minding seat" in the middle of the mid-row. With recline, fold-flat, and full slide capabilities, this seat really can be anything to anyone.
A table, check.
Place for a 3rd child seat, check.
Bonus seat with tons of legroom, check.
Add to the formula a easy to operate, no fuss interior, plenty of USB ports, cupholders, and storage spots, and a starting price of $32,900 MSRP, and you have the makings of a great family hauler or climate-controlled work vehicle (or both). This thing really is multi-purpose.

My previous 2005 Sienna ran for 19 years 335K miles with only few minor repairs. Yes, engine, transmission, suspension, paint, fuel system, injection system, electric windows, fuel pump, upholstery, AC/Heater are all still original and in good condition.
Traded in only because I need better gas mileage reliable Sienna Hybrid with up to 100% better gas mileage at average 36 mpg-42mpg. The 2021 Sienna Hybrid has been running flawlessly like new with “zero” issue at 97K miles. This set Toyota vehicles apart from all competitions.
My also had kept my 1985 Toyota Supra for 23 years (1985-2008). The Supra ended out lasted my 1994 BMW 525 by 150K miles and still running good at 300K miles at parting time.

Just bought one and am liking it. Although, it seems a bit smaller than other vans and noticeably in the back cargo space. Just a heads up for the folks looking into it. Nevertheless, I'm happy with the purchase.

The way my parents own one of these in the middle 3 seats, you can also have it set to 2 seats and have them heated and ventilated, and they can recline.
