My daughter and I went to the old Union Cemetery today and we wanted to take you along with us.
This graveyard is located in Fairview, NC and it is close to Highway 601.

What a beautiful video! It's so nice to see how much respect you both showed. There was a little cemetery near my home when I was a teenager and it had essentially been abandoned for years. I used to go there after school sometimes and pull up weeds, brush off dirt, and clean up the headstones. It just seemed like such a shame that so many people were forgotten. This has inspired me to go for a walk through the cemetery where I live now.

I spoke to an interesting man yesterday who takes care of another old cemetery near my house. He drives over an hour, twice a year to clean it up.

I used to go to a very old church here in my Deep South state. It was ancient. It had a grave yard. In the grave yard where people buried that fought in the American Revolution, the Spanish American War, the Civil War. A few old headstones went back to the late 1700s. It was so cool. I think the videos are still on my channel. It was like walking among history.

I’m going to have to look for that movie, Kim, I’ve never seen it.
Some of the gravestones that we saw in Tarrytown, NY where interesting. They looked primitive, but you could tell that someone took care in creating them.
And this wasn’t a graveyard, but once on a trip to New York City, we stopped and stayed at a hotel in New Jersey. It had a mausoleum in the parking lot.
Cemeteries are my favorite thing. The older the better, they're endlessly fascinating and beautiful. Thank you for making this video!

This was interesting to see. Most cemeteries here in UK are either within church grounds or specific land in towns with more defined burial plots and paths between the graves, lots of trees and benches to sit and water taps to fill flower vases with. Haven't seen any that look like they're just within fields/grass.
Hi Michelle, it is intriguing how things are different. We also have graveyards that are connected to church grounds, but just as many that are in fields like this one.

I love cemeteries, I was fascinated by some of the stones and wanted to see if I could find out what some of the inscriptions read that you couldn’t make out. I used find a grave and the stone for Charles sehorn had a chilling quote. “Remember me as you pass by.
As you are now so once was I.
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.”
Oh!
That quote stopped me in my tracks.

Oh my gosh, I didn’t know other people did this. My grandma and I used to walk around after she’d clean off family gravestones. I agree with your daughter-I loved looking at names and putting families together
