Hi Lindy. What a fun video, it really made me smile. I’m sure the girls will love their presents and the unique personalised wrapping 🎄 Like you, we have a standing rib roast but also lobster tails on Christmas Day for our big meal. I make roast potatoes, Brussel sprouts pan cooked with bacon, cream and a bit of Parmesan. Roasted parsnips and carrots, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We start the morning with mimosas, overnight french toast and fruit. We play games and take a Christmas Day walk if the weather permits. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. What wonderful, thoughtful Christmas gifts. I’m sure the girls will love them! ❤ I love The Bishops Wife, it’s become one of my favorite holiday movies along with White Christmas. This year I’m doing something different and making lasagna for Christmas dinner. It’s already made and in the freezer so I can pop it out easily. The day after Christmas we’re hosting a luncheon for my husbands half brothers and their families. He just found out about and met them a year ago and we are all enjoying getting to know each other. It’s been amazing so I’m putting a bit more effort into that luncheon then my Christmas dinner.😂

This was another delightful video. Always amazed how you simultaneously do the things you do, while meanwhile telling the most delightful stories and never making a mistake in either one or the other! It must be a woman thing 😄. By the way, in our family in Belgium we draw bills for who should make a present for whom for Christmas. So that's always a surprise. Oh and we are eating celeriac soup with Iberico ham, wild boar ragout with stewing apples and banana pannacotta this year. Happy holidays to you!

August of 2023 was when I dove head first into the rabbit hole of spinning and I have no intention of coming up for fibre-free air. Sadly, a treadle wheel isn’t an option for me, due to nerve damage in my lower back that makes treadling for more than a few minutes very difficult. But my smallest e-spinner has become my lunchtime companion on office days. Much to the initial amazement of my colleagues. I spin cobweb to lace weight yarn for lace knitting and I’m lucky enough to have an alpaca farm just 10 minutes away from where I live. That means lots of alpaca fibre right at my door and alpaca is easy to process myself before spinning. Comb or card in a bit of sheep’s wool from people who keep sheep as lawnmowers with a heartbeat who have no idea what to do with the fleece after shearing, and I’ve got more fibre than I know what to do with… and the blend ends up being next to skin soft. Spinning is hypnotic, relaxing and addictive. And it provides me with all the yarn I want for knitting. If you ever find yourself spinning enough yarn for a sweater and the weight is right, try to knit yourself a ranunculus sweater. It flies off the needles and looks fabulous. The pattern is available on ravelry and any yarn from lace weight to worsted will do. Happy spinning!

I love homemade gifts - they mean so much! I love your wrapping techniques - so pretty - I’m a terrible wrapper - it’s like it was wrapped by a dinosaur wearing mittens. and yes every September we would wrap our books in paper lunch bags. This Christmas we are going to do a prime rib dinner with fresh fruit and dips for dessert.

Love hearing about the memories associated with certain scents. Very sweet and heartwarming video. I always remember my grandma smelling like White Shoulders perfume and Coty powder. <3 A couple of years ago on Christmas morning I woke up crying because I had a dream that I saw my grandma who has been gone for several years. I hugged her in the dream and I swear I could smell the Coty face powder she used. I like to think she paid me a little visit that Christmas.
