Correct me if I’m wrong but if Xivu killed Eris wouldn’t Xivu be enacting vengeance for her Nephew and brothers death therefore conjuring Eris back through said vengeance?
Xivu isn't necessarily mad that Oryx got killed, she's mad that Eris hasn't assumed his position. In Xivu's eyes, being able to kill Eris would just confirm her own logic.
You’re both right. Through xivu’s vengeance, Eris is going to create her throne world which in turn results in her being reborn. She is an evolved version of war, the vengeance soulfire is why she can take xivu’s thithes fully.
I think this is her hope, cuz if Xivu actually accepts his brother's death just as proof of the sword logic (which she does in the latest savathun's pinnacle dialogue) then this conjuring back into existence wouldn't work anymore. My theory is that Eris will purposely sacrifice herself fighting Xivu just to hunger even more her worm and let her be consumed. To avoid death Xivu would need another grand genocide, the only guy scary enough to pose a great enough offering at that point would be the witness, but I find very safe to assume that he would make veeeery short work of her, it would be kind of a pyrrhic victory for us, we'd have a hive god less and a very scary sight at the witness's actual power. Who knows.

The way i interpreted it, Eris's plan is to grow from our endless tributes, face Xivu, and then lose on purpose, possibly even without a fight, as to weaken the strength of her self "offer" to the god of war, and force her to find a new even bigger target as to not get consumed by a worm that now pretends the feast brought by an actual active hive god. At that point we wouldn't be nearly "enough" as a target, and she may set her sights on the witness, and that could be her final act. All of this is highly unlikely, it just occured to me that this week's dialogue from Eris sounds like she intends so sacrifice herself in some way, we went from defeating the god of war to buying time, and now she talks about not giving Xivu an actual full on fight.
What if your theory has an extra step considering the worms are larva that implies that the can become worm gods what if there is a threshold for that to happen and xivu killing Eris causes that transformation instead of making it to hard to feed the worm considering xivu would still have us to kill to feed her worm after Eris
The issue is Xivu has been feeding her worm for billions of years (Oryx reigned as Taken King for that long) Eris has only just started, there's absolutely no way Eris is catching up to Xivu in power
I figured it was piece of the worm talking to her directly. It's encouraging to see you considering the same possibility. Maybe the Witness or Xivu can use the worms as a proxy? I'm glad you talked about the Deep because I've been wondering why it was capitalized. I hadn't seen it in that manner before but I've only been playing for about the last 8 seasons.
@@sylokthedefiled nah, the Deep is the same thing basically as the Darkness (the paracausal power), the Witness is the most powerful user of the Darkness and trying to become synonymous with it
Basically anything the Guardian, Eris' Acolyte, takes out goes to her Vengeance. Any Guardians or allies that Xivu takes out goes to her war. This seems to be the only way to fight Xivu without feeding her, by stealing the tithes that would have gone to Xivu.. however the act of war itself may still be feeding her, but maybe not as much since we are taking some for our Vengeance
I swear I remember (from a old Beard Grizzly video) that The Ammonites were kicking the crap out of the Hive (because they had paracausal weapons) and the 3 sisters went back to the Worm Gods begging for the same. That being the cause for Oryx to kill his sisters, Akka, and comune.. but it wasn't until Oryx killed the Ecumene that Savathun and Xivu were brought back. If that's the case, how can Xivu and her brood be the ones to take out the Ammonites?
The ammonites planned an assassination on the Krill Royal family, by having the Krill mother Taox kill her children, while the ammonites killed Taoxs husband Taox ran to the ammonites seeking refugee after she failed to kill her children, and while she hid, Sav n co, had changed into Hive via the worms, and went about searching for Taox, the ammonites died, because Oryx killed them, as to feed the ritual which was needed to bring Sav n Xivu back, after they sacrificed themselves for Oryx for his battle against his worm
The fight between the knight and the wizard is basicallyucent version of our crucible. They fight, hone their strength and grow from it to become stronger. Also the thing about the Eris/Xivu power struggle is that war is a part of vengeance but Vengeance doesn’t have to involve war. It can be through cunning, conquest. Eris’s version of vengeance encompasses all the aspects from Xivu, savanthun, and Oryx.
Honestly I think the steps forward for the season are pretty obvious. We’re going to break our bargain with Savathûn by having Immaru resurrect her early so Eris can kill her again in an act of vengeance, because it’s the only way I see Eris catching up to the millennia of tithes and tribute Xivu Arath has accumulated. Similar to how Auryx killed Savathûn and Xivu to gain enough strength to kill Akka. How that’s used to defeat Xivu is anyone’s guess. The Hive Gods combat against each other never aimed to inflict True Death upon each other, so I imagine we’ll see Eris do something unexpected. Perhaps subvert Xivu’s own godhood as her quest is more about vengeance, or maybe managing to destroy or sever her Throne? Whatever happens, Eris will obviously not turn and will likely end up giving up her Hive form, as she tells us in the dialogue in this weeks story. That’s my general prediction of the story from my long running Books of Sorrow obsession. Still holding out hope the solution to the portal is Ahamkara based, we still have the Chekov’s gun that is Riven’s Heart waiting to be used.
immaru keeps talking about how savathun is steps ahead of us but he forgets just how deeply eris understands the logic of the hive. feel like that line from Eris is a big foreshadow to how we eventually kill Xivu, make her run into her throne, weakened by her worm, before we follow her in and finish her off. Maybe S23s exotic mission?
22:49 When I read that lore entry I imagined one of the arena rooms at the end of Savathun's Spire, the one with the Hive Guardians in particular. It also mirrors the ruleset of the Crucible, where Human Guardians uphold a old "tradition" of the Dark Age where Risen fought Risen, often to the final death, but with the added rule to not go for the Ghost. And here comes my biggest pet peeve with this season: Why are we still killing the Hive Ghosts? I know Immaru addressed this in one of the Summoning Circle dialogs, where he calls his Hive Guardians replaceable - which I call BS! In WQ we got this lore entry where he was fuming with rage at the Human Guardians killing Hive Ghosts left and right! I just wish we would just not kill the Ghosts anymore. It's unnecessary if fighting in our Crucible is also providing tithes to Eris. And on top we are actively weakening ourselves (as in the Forces of the Light) by thinning our ranks of Lightbearers. FFS, give the Hive Guardians this season's relics and let them tithe to Eris as well... And for the fights where we face Hive Guardians: Instead of crunching the Ghosts how about we either transmat them away or do some Hive magic on them that prevents them from resurrecting their Hive partner. Maybe they get Trials rules, where their teammates have to assist in the revival. Wouldn't that be some awesome character development for both sides: We have to learn to use the tithing system to our advantage, becoming more like the Hive while the Hive Guardians get a lesson in cooperation, making them more like Human Guardians. Teaching them independence and individuality away from Immaru's Book of Sorrow fanboy BS, pathing a way for a neutral or even friendly Hive Guardian faction... one can dream.
Savathun, like Eris KNOWS there is a flaw, a loophole in the Sword Logic, and she was experimenting towards that end. Perhaps Eris will find what Savathun could not?
Pretty sure she already did, the worm chunk that’s in the scepter she gave us let’s her get tribute via the sword logic but without a parasitic worm that would devour the host if it’s not feed enough.
I think the "Guardians use the Sword Logic" reveal isn't as wild a reveal as some think. We've been taking tributes (in forms of item drops and experience) and adding the power to our own (through powering up equipment and levelling up) since Day 1 of the game. We kill and get drops, we are killed and resurrected and grind for more power. Lather, rinse, repeat. I believe the biggest thing to come from all of this is the realization that we're really not that different at all. A good look in the mirror is what the Guardians need.
Could it be that by winning, each proves themselves? So by killing and tithing to Eris, we "steal" tithes from Xivu? It seems like the energy wrought from the violence we make is subjective to who's name it's in, meaning that Xivu and her forces engage in war, and when they are successful, that tribute goes to her; when we are engaged in vengeance, so the energy created goes to Eris. The issue seems to be that, in the past, the energy created by destruction in our victories had nowhere to go, so Xivu could still claim it and grow stronger, regardless of which side won the battle. Now we can break her tributes by ensuring that energy goes to Eris
I love that she says that Xivu Arath is no longer the only Hive God of strife. Considering that Eris in Greek mythology is the goddess of strife who caused the Trojan War
@@WHlSKYtx just saying I’ve seen this with everyone destiny season, where people will praise the first week then the rest isn’t so great. Better to temper your expectations
Regarding Eris’ throne world theory- maybe she has one, but she has to die to reach it and see it, as Oryx did? That could explain the “imagination” wording, as she hasn’t yet died and been deposited into her throne world but she knows she might have one. For the others with throne worlds, which to my recollection is Oryx, Xivu, Savathun, the Mindbender and the Queen, I feel like they all technically have also died so as far as I know that’s consistent. Interested to see if there’s any more support or contradicting evidence for this that I haven’t remembered
I feel like its more eris because were not fighting in the name of war since were literally somining experiments to slaughter them in the name of vengence but i realise its probably written in a way that bungie could decide either or
Is the gift mast… the radial mast? It’s an artifact of light so maybe??? I have a feeling there’s a connection there. Not real important to the story but it makes sense in my brain.
I’m hoping Toland will get thrown into this season somehow. It just makes sense given the context of everything this season. Perhaps he will help his old fireteam member one last time in creating a ripple in the ascendant plane to allow Eris to make her own throne world?
Pretty sure they're using the worm fragment as simply a conduit to gather tithes. This is how they circumvent the Sword Logic. Without a living Worm, she gets all the tithes to herself.
"Our broods will feed us with their tribute" I believe the interaction between Guardians and Hive gives tribute to both Xivu and Eris through the killing of the Hive. I don't think Guardians "dying" feeds tribute as we don't actually die. Even then, there are barely any Guardians compared to the hundreds of hive we kill. Xivu gains tribute when her Hive are killed, as previously discussed, and we give tribute to Eris when we kill Hive. So us killing is giving tribute to both.
From what I remember from that entry; the gift mass is supposed to be the black hole at the center of a spiral galaxy, but it's pull reversed(?) By the traveler(?)
@@1338-l1mI don't know if it's the one at the center of the galaxy, but it is some sort of beneficial construct generated by the traveler out of a black hole
Eris is Vengeance. Xivu makes war because she wants to avenge Crota and Oryx, in this case. As I see it, they are both feeding each other's Worm. I guess that will be Xivu's undoing.
Everything is getting interesting again. Xivu feeds on war, but is seeking vengeance. Eris decided to become the aspect of Vengeance. Xivu sworn vengeance to her brothers killer (which was conducted upon Eris schemes). Xivu will prevail and Eris dies. Xivu vengeance is fulfilled, but this empowers Eris back so in the end we have: Xivu loses by winning and Eris wins by losing. This is a tricky logic, and who is the Aspect of trickery? Savathun, so in the end who defeats Xivu Arath by intent, is Savathun herself. We are about to see a interesting interaction as we see Savathun revived.... If she was actually dead all along/somehow. Good video on Leviathan Eater Cheers
Has anyone else picked up on the similarities between the Drifter and Immaru? Probably voiced by the same actor but even so their characters are weirdly similar and we know the Drifter has some freaky connection to the Darkness. Thoughts???

If I remember correctly a leaked FS Raid title will be Herald of the Winnower. So a entity above the witness seems very plausible
Love this new format!
I love that she says that Xivu Arath is no longer the only Hive God of strife. Considering that Eris in Greek mythology is the goddess of strife who caused the Trojan War
I had goosebumps throughout the dialogue of this week's mission, superb season
We’re only two weeks in. Wait for everything else before making such a large praising statement.
@@Sypitzno lol
@@Sypitzyeah no. It's actually 3 weeks in and it deserves all the praise it gets
@@Sypitzbro really can’t stand someone liking something
@@WHlSKYtx just saying I’ve seen this with everyone destiny season, where people will praise the first week then the rest isn’t so great. Better to temper your expectations
Great video myelin, format was good
Murdered that Ecumene even after it was said, it begins with E not A, Eris's voice was mixed with Xivu's at the beginning too.
When the Leviathan Eater popped up was really hoping to fight it once I saw how tanky it was. Looking forward to a decent boss fight this season.
I loved this format!!
I like seeing some of the work out takes to collect the context
Regarding Eris’ throne world theory- maybe she has one, but she has to die to reach it and see it, as Oryx did? That could explain the “imagination” wording, as she hasn’t yet died and been deposited into her throne world but she knows she might have one. For the others with throne worlds, which to my recollection is Oryx, Xivu, Savathun, the Mindbender and the Queen, I feel like they all technically have also died so as far as I know that’s consistent. Interested to see if there’s any more support or contradicting evidence for this that I haven’t remembered
I have a mental image of Oryx screaming BITCONNEEEEEECCCCCCCTTTTT!!!!! when he introduced his pyramid scheme to the hive
Excelent format I really like it, you can make more like this.
Leviathan Eater
I feel like its more eris because were not fighting in the name of war since were literally somining experiments to slaughter them in the name of vengence but i realise its probably written in a way that bungie could decide either or
(Ack-you-min-aye)😢😢feels like christmas graduation and new year all in one to finally get that cleared up
Shaxx's PvP has a new contender.
Savathun's oubliette
Is the gift mast… the radial mast? It’s an artifact of light so maybe??? I have a feeling there’s a connection there. Not real important to the story but it makes sense in my brain.
I’m hoping Toland will get thrown into this season somehow. It just makes sense given the context of everything this season. Perhaps he will help his old fireteam member one last time in creating a ripple in the ascendant plane to allow Eris to make her own throne world?
This vid made me check my bell to make sure i see everything you make asap.
Love the channel man pls don’t stop the amazing content
Pretty sure they're using the worm fragment as simply a conduit to gather tithes. This is how they circumvent the Sword Logic. Without a living Worm, she gets all the tithes to herself.
I love when xivu is all like AIAT AIAT and Eris is all like DONT YOU DARE REPEAT ME BITCH! IM NOT YOUR SISTER!
Xivu: "CAN I GET AN AIAT!?👂🤚"
Eris: "Shut up"
"Our broods will feed us with their tribute" I believe the interaction between Guardians and Hive gives tribute to both Xivu and Eris through the killing of the Hive. I don't think Guardians "dying" feeds tribute as we don't actually die. Even then, there are barely any Guardians compared to the hundreds of hive we kill. Xivu gains tribute when her Hive are killed, as previously discussed, and we give tribute to Eris when we kill Hive. So us killing is giving tribute to both.
through strategic retreats war can be won and if planning for war also empowers her then the retreats to continue the war would also strengthen xivu
Thanks a lot for the video really appreciate your effort of putting this together
Is the Harmony's 'Gift Mast' the same as Lightfall's 'Radial Mast' that Rohan blew up?
Almost definitely not
From what I remember from that entry; the gift mass is supposed to be the black hole at the center of a spiral galaxy, but it's pull reversed(?) By the traveler(?)
@@1338-l1mI don't know if it's the one at the center of the galaxy, but it is some sort of beneficial construct generated by the traveler out of a black hole
I liked the format. Lots to go over. Taint scratchin.
Xivu and sava have the best voice actors possible!
Yeah, this was a great format!
GREAT FORMAT! Keep this one
"Who's that?" "That's Vengeance." Bat-Morn.
Orbs of Power are generated using sword logic
Loved this style of lore video
Xivu came to get vengeance for us killing Oryx. Her war feeds Eris too
Eris is Vengeance.
Xivu vengeance is fulfilled, but this empowers Eris back so in the end we have:
Xivu loses by winning and Eris wins by losing.
This is a tricky logic, and who is the Aspect of trickery? Savathun, so in the end who defeats Xivu Arath by intent, is Savathun herself.
We are about to see a interesting interaction as we see Savathun revived.... If she was actually dead all along/somehow.
Good video on Leviathan Eater
Cheers
Leaviathan Eater. Also anyone else thinking we are gonna go in that huge building in the oubliette at the end of the season?
Has anyone else picked up on the similarities between the Drifter and Immaru? Probably voiced by the same actor but even so their characters are weirdly similar and we know the Drifter has some freaky connection to the Darkness. Thoughts???
Great content, loved this video thanks My
Considering that Eris used worms to help with her transformation and spells. The voice she is hearing is probably one of the worms.
