I have a Tracer 9 GT same generation and I absolutely love the sound of it. It is actually the ONLY bike that I have not changed and do not plan to change the original exhaust. It just sounds perfect and it's clean as nothing sticks out on the bike. Great riding!

I’m the same Andrei, I see no need to change the stock exhaust
There’s something special about triple cylinders, they sound like nothing else. Popping at the lower revs and screaming at the higher. Been a triple fan ever since I rode and heard a ST3.

This bike doesn't need a full exhaust to sound good, IMO. I suppose that's more appropriate for your MT09 than it would be during long trips on my Tracer 9GT. I love the what Yamaha has done with the intake growl though, I don't want to drown that out with a loud pipe.
Tbh since the recorder is in the backpack you can't hear the sound of the intake growl since is ahead, but you can still hear it(in real). Ofc with a louder pipe, your attention is more on the pipe sound over the intake growl. One day I had to try a Tracer 9! Thank you for your comment Ernie, hope you enjoyed the video.
This is the problem i am having i want a bit more sound from the exhaust but dont want to dull teh growel from the intake when you go Wide open throttle i love my Gen 3 SP for sure
I kinda think this intake grow talk is a consolation prize for a shit stock exhaust that not up to finished standards on new bikes. I am going to turn the stock exhaust into a belly pot cooker. You get more crackles with the fire.😅😅😂
Bought 2023 MT 09 today, pick up next Saturday. Will leave standard exhaust. Each to their own. Ride safe. 🙏 🇦🇺

What exhaust have you got on the xsr. Yes sound it's amazing but you need an aftermarket like this or it's too tame. That raspy tone. It's so good.

That's what I'm looking at for the mt09 that I'm getting in spring. Is it not too loud if you were to drive all day? Only thing I'm worried about
@@mattk909 It's really loud, lol. They have a db killer for it though. It does a great job of silencing it while still having a great tone

Same here, I was drawn to the new XSR900, which has the same CP3 engine, but I ended up riding home my 2023 Z900RS Cafe last week. No regrets. I still want to ride either an FZ 09 / MT 09 or an XSR900 to try out the CP3 though. These things have quite the cult following

The gen3 has such a smooth quickshifter, sounds seamless. I prefer the jagged abrupt violent sound the gen1 and gen2 had.

Not a big fan of the way triples sound myself “unless it’s a T plane crank” but I love the power delivery tho

Rode one for a day a couple of months ago. It had exhaust and tune on it. Was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best sounding bikes I've ever rode. Not only that though, one of the most comfortable. Honestly, it's pretty much a perfect bike......except for the fact that it is UGLY AF! Going to get a MVA Dragster instead, and hopefully that will top the MT09. :)

Compared to the big brand like akrapovic, leovince, Arrow... This exhaust win hands down. Sound side and price side, aesthetic is subjective... (cost half of the akra)😜✌️

Sounds best with stock exhaust. Just loud enough but not obnoxious and you can still hear the intake growl.

@@rawsoundrider let’s say it’s more civilized, since it’s heavier and the wheel base is longer. You’ll run out of footpeg quite quickly too. But I like it anyway, it’s a great package.

question: does your clutch levers enable the cruise control for you? After I change the clutch lever to the aftermarket one, I can't use that function and have to go back to the OEM
I had the same problem on my tracer 900 gt. I got the gilles tooling levers and they work like oem
Cruise control works properly with this levers. Lucky me😅
