I cannot stop replaying Adrian's solo. It's so beautifully composed and full of emotion. And Dave's follow up solo is just as beautiful. And I didn't realize it until many listens, but that's definitely Janick playing the fills during the final chorus. I thought that was Adrian at first, but that's definitely Jan's tone. All three of them are incredible guitarists who compliment each other perfectly.

A lot of people give him a hard time because “he doesn’t hit the high notes as easily as he used to”. Honestly the fact that that’s his only issue proves how fantastic he’s doing for his age as far as his singing goes. The guy still sounds incredible in his lower and middle registers and his higher register, although not what it used to be is still solid enough. I can name singers who’s voices have really gone to shit in their later years (to the point where hearing them sing today you’d hardly recognize them from their younger selves). Bruce is doing pretty damn good in his old age
Absolutely! And to mention that he had survived through throat cancer. No one in this world can be compared to him and his voice as a man and a singer respectively.
Bruce is top 3 of all time in metal no doubt about it; even after cancer his performance has always been consistent. I’ve never seen anything better than his vocals on the Scream for Me Brazil solo career tour as well as in SSOASS. The problem on this album and the previous 3 is the guitars melodies layered on top of his vocal line through every damm verse of each song… it muffles the sound of his voice; a real shame in my opinion, but since these guys don’t want to get a producer who could beat their asses and trim down all of the tropes they’ve got stuck to, that’s what we gonna get no matter what…
I think this is the best song of the new album, even if it was just for those amazing and emotional guitar solos! And as with all these Maiden masterpieces it translates well to classical guitar ;) Up the Irons!

I have other personal favorites. So this is coming from someone who isn't a die hard Iron Maiden fan. But I have to admit. Iron Maiden are in the league of their own. They have really grown on me over the years. This last album is as good as anything. It's kind of unreal that they are still this good.
It really does....I love the Golden era of Maiden like everyone else...But it's been done...I also love the post-2000''s era Maiden with the return of Smith and Dickinson...They just seem to age like a fine wine or Scotch...

Fantastic solo by Adrian Smith. Dave is great and has has great tone, and Janick has a gem one in a while, but Adrian always seems to play more musical and inspired solos.
Dave's playing (like Steve's) is very much at the core of what Iron Maiden is. But you're right about Adrian. He plays the most worthwhile solos. They're like the counterpoint to the typical Maiden sound and push them to the next level.
I still get thrills from Dave's style ... it's so soft and clean, in some solos the notes just flow like fluid. But I love them all, as a guitar player myself. They all have their own strengths.

Its no accident that he is doing a project with Ritchie Kotzen. Immensely underestimated, maybe even by his mates in Maiden.

I've listened to a few of these tracks on my Mac with good speakers and I think he is very muffled in the mix. I find it distracting.

I started with maiden in the eighties, but for me this is 1 of the best. Thought-provoking lyrics, and also heartrending melodies, which challenge almost any maiden epic

Bin Fan seit meiner Jugend in den Neunzigern und habe seitdem nicht eine Band entdeckt die auch nur ansatzweise an Maiden rankommt. Es gibt tolle andere Bands, keine Frage aber sowat wie Maiden gibts nur einmal. Up the Irons!!

Fantastic solo by Adrian Smith. Dave is great and has has great tone, and Janick has a gem one in a while, but Adrian always seems to play more musical and inspired solos.

Dave's playing (like Steve's) is very much at the core of what Iron Maiden is. But you're right about Adrian. He plays the most worthwhile solos. They're like the counterpoint to the typical Maiden sound and push them to the next level.

I still get thrills from Dave's style ... it's so soft and clean, in some solos the notes just flow like fluid. But I love them all, as a guitar player myself. They all have their own strengths.
