Its no accident that he is doing a project with Ritchie Kotzen. Immensely underestimated, maybe even by his mates in Maiden.
The entire band is awesome but Bruce and Adrian's performances are spectacular.

It’s well known that Bruce takes meticulous care of his voice, but to sound like this after 4 decades is phenomenal.
A lot of people give him a hard time because “he doesn’t hit the high notes as easily as he used to”. Honestly the fact that that’s his only issue proves how fantastic he’s doing for his age as far as his singing goes. The guy still sounds incredible in his lower and middle registers and his higher register, although not what it used to be is still solid enough. I can name singers who’s voices have really gone to shit in their later years (to the point where hearing them sing today you’d hardly recognize them from their younger selves). Bruce is doing pretty damn good in his old age
Absolutely! And to mention that he had survived through throat cancer. No one in this world can be compared to him and his voice as a man and a singer respectively.
I've listened to a few of these tracks on my Mac with good speakers and I think he is very muffled in the mix. I find it distracting.
Bruce is top 3 of all time in metal no doubt about it; even after cancer his performance has always been consistent. I’ve never seen anything better than his vocals on the Scream for Me Brazil solo career tour as well as in SSOASS.
The problem on this album and the previous 3 is the guitars melodies layered on top of his vocal line through every damm verse of each song… it muffles the sound of his voice; a real shame in my opinion, but since these guys don’t want to get a producer who could beat their asses and trim down all of the tropes they’ve got stuck to, that’s what we gonna get no matter what…

I cannot stop replaying Adrian's solo. It's so beautifully composed and full of emotion. And Dave's follow up solo is just as beautiful.
And I didn't realize it until many listens, but that's definitely Janick playing the fills during the final chorus. I thought that was Adrian at first, but that's definitely Jan's tone. All three of them are incredible guitarists who compliment each other perfectly.
For me the best song in the album. What a masterpiece.

I have other personal favorites. So this is coming from someone who isn't a die hard Iron Maiden fan. But I have to admit. Iron Maiden are in the league of their own. They have really grown on me over the years. This last album is as good as anything. It's kind of unreal that they are still this good.

Been a maiden fan since the mid 80’s and have to say this song is probably one of the best,those solos are incredible!
I think this is the best song of the new album, even if it was just for those amazing and emotional guitar solos! And as with all these Maiden masterpieces it translates well to classical guitar ;)

Those were nagical and powerful albums when every song is real masterpiece!! The sound of maiden changed as janick gers joined the band. In their early years every album had its own special sound. From brave new world,they are all sound the same,more or less.

Come on now; every single song is not a masterpiece; The Apparition is an absolutely lousy song and most of the tracks on Fear of the Dark are filler to give an example; there are fillers here and there on other releases also. Senjutsu is a very good effort however and probably their best since the reunion.
I started with maiden in the eighties, but for me this is 1 of the best. Thought-provoking lyrics, and also heartrending melodies, which challenge almost any maiden epic
What a masterpiece this is.. and dave’s solo is so emotional, it kinda reminds me of david gilmour his solo’s/sound..
dave has no song writing in the entire album he only participates and adapt to all songs, he has no creation wrinting when he proves he has skills to write and creates good vibes like man of sorrows, the reincarnation of benjamin bregg, the nomad still life and other epics songs

Dave solo is definitely an extension of Adrian's, in fact, it seems like the solo slowly builds, to a crescendo, but with the same mood. in order for this to be possible, either Adrian wrote all the solo sequences, and passed them out, or he wrote his own, to fit the mood of his song, then oversaw the development of the other 2 solos, to ensure they complemented each other, as all Iron Maiden solo sequences must

A day after the album came out, i was walking home from a quite far distance (about 10 miles) in the middle of the dark night, and i was listening to the new album... Thanks for this release!
The song, the solo in particular, brings me to tears thinking about the inhumanity and evil being done on the planet right now by those with too much power but also by ourselves to each other, fighting and bickering and dismissing suffering and distress as nuisance, getting in the way. Horrifying.

I mean it was already a done deal that IM is the greatest metal band to ever exist but at this point they are not only putting any kind of debate out of question but are shooting to the absolute very peak of _human art_ alongside historical greats like Michelangelo, Edgar Allan Poe, Beethoven, etc.

Great song. Dickenson sounds his best when he stays within his vocal range. This really could be the most "perfect" record they ever recorded.

@@stephensdygert7600 it's definitely not perfect and Bruce sounds like he's signing 10 ft behind the rest of the band. This album is not nearly as good as Powerslave/Somewhere in Time/Piece of Mind. I even think Brave New World and Dance of Death are better albums, doesn't mean this one is bad but it's definitely not perfect
I think some deviations from their previous works have some people off side, I'd prefer they try a few different things like on this album, keeps us guessing and intrigued. A bit of deviation is good but keeping their core sound at the same time too imo.

Hell On Earth is my favorite. That song gives me chills.
Definitely feels like one of those songs where they already wrote it, but didnt have a place to put it until this album. This song is really put together in my opinion.

Fantastic solo by Adrian Smith. Dave is great and has has great tone, and Janick has a gem one in a while, but Adrian always seems to play more musical and inspired solos.

Dave's playing (like Steve's) is very much at the core of what Iron Maiden is. But you're right about Adrian. He plays the most worthwhile solos. They're like the counterpoint to the typical Maiden sound and push them to the next level.

I still get thrills from Dave's style ... it's so soft and clean, in some solos the notes just flow like fluid. But I love them all, as a guitar player myself. They all have their own strengths.
@ReaperGames14 En Alternativo. Janick is incredibly fast whilst remaining crystal clear and accurate playing and always with his own very distinctive sound and style.For me you can't separate any of them they all fit and compliment what Iron Maiden represents
