It may be a little late to mention, but there is a request from Sebastian in the board on Pierre's store where he asks for an item saying that he feels like throwing something at the mountain to get rid of his frustration, and since he stays out until very late and we have no way of knowing what happens the rest of the night and at dawn, it is possible that at some point he has thrown the object and it ended up falling into Linus' tent. So probably the person responsible for the "attacks" is Sebastian but he doesn't even know what's going on, he just throws things out of frustration without even imagining that they fall into Linus's tent.
I do think it was probably sebastian only because he was throwing green beans at the mountain and later he asks the player if they've ever done something they regret. So i think he feels bad about it.

Personally my first thought was Abigail. She’s show to be pretty rebellious by Stardew Valley standards and can sometimes show that rebelliousness in some less-than-kind ways given her somewhat strained relationship with her parents, plus, being raised by someone with an ego like Pierre’s I could see her looking down on Linus, thinking that his lack of wealth or material possessions somehow makes him lesser. You didn't mention or clear the near by adventures guild, but I don't think of them to be likely culprits. Morris is also relatively near by and after a long night of counting his profits, I can see him choosing to unwind by throwing rocks at the less fortunate.
@@wargrunt42 Marlon sponsored this video and told me not to snitch on him ☹ I think Morris could hire henchmen to do his dirty work for him, for sure. Get Linus out of the area to make the area look "better" for business
I feel like it's possible to be Sab as well. You know he is a young adult who has family issue , hate social and don't found someone to love yet. Imagine that how hard feeling that he burden in that time before he start relationship with player (or Abigal after Sam start the music brand). Who know, he may have a really bad day with family before ( or smoked bad stuff too much ) then he do something stupidly without thinking. I also catch his dialog that - he like to throw the rocks into Lake to stress relieves. - toss rotten eggs in egg festival Or even used to put the weird thing in lucky pot. - wish peoples disappeared bc they make him feel anxious. After married with him. He did admit that he kinda like to 'prank' peoples around but confirmed that he make sure that it don't mean to harms anyone just only make them annoyed.
i always assumed it was alex bc he goes to the bathhouse up in the mountains, has the rude jock persona, and probably dislikes linus’ lifestyle (like it reminds him of his dad)
I went from watching this with humored skepticism to genuinely being convinced! I love the idea that the dwarf feels threated by Linus because the dude will literally just forage and chill around the mines, instead of like Marlon and the Player who go in to mine and eradicate hostiles. Little dude's just doing his best!
expansion on your theory: Linus *is* a spy sent by the shadow people! we know that linus and the wizard are close, and we know that krobus and the wizard are at least acquaintances. not to mention the popular theory that the hat mouse's place used to belong to linus, placing him near the sewer. all this to say Linus and Krobus almost certainly know each other, and given what we know about both of them they would likely get along great. this would also explain what linus is doing in the mines in the first place, because while there are forageables in the mines, that's a lot of effort for some cave carrots. it would make more sense that he's in there *looking* for the dwarf
I just got a dialogue from linus yesterday that someone spraypainted on his tent and he spent all morning washing it off. so there is definitely someone targeting him
I love your theory! It makes so much sense! I always thought it would be Abigail because of her first line when you first meat her. "It's kind of a shame, really. I always enjoyed exploring those overgrown fields." I think she would be able to go up to the mountains. She also seems like she would do that in my opinion! Your theory makes way more sense tho:)))
Also Sebastian lives up there so she could go up there to see him late at night and maybe do some stuff that y know what I’m implying and sometimes they go to throws rocks or green beans like the quest you get on the bulliten board
I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THIS! I love your theory, I can't imagine anyone in Pelican Town harming Linus.... except Lewis(if I really need to choose someone), it's a bit of a stretch but something about a wild man living in a tent may bother him since he cares about his reputation/the town reputation so much
I think another option could be the witch! Since the wizard and Linus are apparently good friends, and the witch might just be bitter about the breakup, and takes her anger out on Linus
Something I realized after playing through part of the intro for The War Within. It actually turns out that the nerubians invading Dalaran and Dalaran being destroyed. Is actually the players fault. One of the quests you pick up before the city is teleported is a quest where Drenden tells you that he's worried about the wards and asks you to strengthen them using a wand he gives you.Drenden turns out to be Xalatath in disguise. Once you look at this information you realize that you were not strengthening the wards, you were weakening them. This twist made me feel both excited and depressed. Excited because a twist like this hasn't really been put into the game before now and depressed because you realize that all the people who end up dying because of the weakened wards is all your fault.......
Makes sense. I love this folklore version of dwarves that stardew portrays. But even the Tolkein versions have the exact same love of mining, and respect for the craft. There is no version of a dwarf that doesn't give you mad respect for swinging a pickaxe well.
I’ve always suspected Sebastian because he is angry at Demetrius and Maru and might take it out on Linus, Sam because he leads the town in community service hours, or the witch because she’s angry at the wizard and generally causes mischief. It can’t be Kent because he isn’t back when the incident takes place.
Honestly didnt pay much attention to who would be the ones throwing rocks. The locals dont make sense. As you said Sebastian is outspoken. Gus is friendly with Linus etc. When I saw the title my first idea was Morris. Maybe he passed by the mountain and saw the "wild man" as trouble or not fitting what plans with the towns he has. A sort of "unknown factor" as Linus does not spend money, does not regularly enters towns and maybe Morris also spotted him rummaging through the stores trash. But honestly the dwarf also makes perfect sense. Maybe to the dwarf Linus is also weird as he does not act like the other humans. He is "weird" compared to them and far too close to his shop. And as you said the dwarf probably just wants to scare him away. Move his tent. Maybe as a personal headcanon. Linus is a sort of druid. Maybe the dwarf senses some form of nature magic in him that he doesnt like or feels save about.
@@sodorart Like we know Linus and the wizard are friends. Linus can walk in the mines and either deal with the monsters or avoid them through ways. Linus has a deeper knowledge on the valley. So while his magic may not be powerful he may have some. Enough at least to get some reaction from the dwarf.
Also Linus tent is by the side of joja's LANDSLIDE if a landslide was strong enough to block the whole train station than it would be crazy to think that rocks wouldn't fall on his tent even months or even years after the landslide
I think it was the mayor. He's the only one with enough motivation and spite to do it (and this sort of thing is unfortunately quite common in real life).
I don’t know if it was a mod, but I’ve had a dialogue where Sebastian mentions about spray painting Linus’s tent and Linus telling the farmer that some joker spray painted his tent😭
Did you consider the witch in this he is a friend of the wizard and since she's the wizards x wife it's possible the wizard dose state that she goes around cursing everyone or something like that its posible shes taking out her anger on the wizards old friend
I doubt it's the dwarf actually, specifically cause of dialogue i had with linus while playing recently. i dont know if it's new from 1.6 but Linus said "Someone Spray painted the side of my tent last night, it took all morning to scrub it off..." or something along those lines. and i highly doubt the dwarf has spray paint.
obvious is debris falling from the rocks , the mountains at night are like the spooky battle field in asterix conquers rome. Every night the ghosts of the fallen mighty Shadow people Legions and the Dwarves hordes meet and clash it out in epic ghost walhalla style.
Sometimes I wish concernedape did a crime mystery side plot, with a real revelation. So people could really feel like the characters or the game have some stakes.
what if it was one of the towns young adults who did it when they were teens. but when they became adults they realized how inmature it was. or a better idea... morris just goes out of his way to activley spite linus
You can get the dialouge as early as you can get Linus to enough hesrts. I'm pretty sure it isn't the dwarf. Some people get Linus to 6 hearts before getting to the Dwarf (like me). I think it's just Sebastian or Clint working late and throwing rocks into the lake but accidentally hitting Linus' tent.
I know you ruled out Gus but even then I don't think it'd be Gus since he has a scene that shows he doesn't mind Linus & is willing to let him have some food
Ngl its a really good theory but i also feel like demetrius does that at night aswell and we just dont see it, hes a def the kind of person to be bothered by linus’s presence
Okay I didn't think about Sebastian or the Dwarf and they're interesting possibilities. I was convinced it was Alex, since he goes up to the gym frequently and would inevitably come across Linus seeking warmth or shelter. I think Alex has the personality required to enjoy throwing rocks at Linus' tent.
Coud be, but Alex also said he finds 'there's a weirdo here (mountain area)', then he said it's Sebastian. So at least Alex finds Linus more understandable than Sebastian.
Sebby is definitely enough of an asshole to do this. He has pranked the Luau potluck before, and seems to enjoy pulling pranks. He would have little to no reason to tell the farmer he does this, so he probably never would, and after you've befriended him, I doubt it's something he'd disclose openly. He's not really a bad person, so he's probably guilty about it if he does it.
Nice theory I never even thought about that possibility!! I lowkey feel like it’s Lewis trying to urge him out of town since he doesn’t bring in extra tax revenue for his gold statues and whatever else he wastes the towns money on. Not to mention Lewis has been caught sneaking around late at night (if you know you know). Dunno if he’d treck up the mountain but he’s definitely been out late and I wouldn’t put it past him to be petty like that😅
It’s Sam. He’s young and healthy enough to climb the mountain and he’s a confirmed prankster. Rotten egg throwing, pouring anchovies into the pot luck stew, leading the town in community service hours, etc Dwarf is an interesting theory but I think his community raising at night is more for survival. Why would he antagonize someone that not only very close to him but also has done him no harm?

@@cabbagyboi9129 interesting insight!! Thank you for sharing!
You didn't mention or clear the near by adventures guild, but I don't think of them to be likely culprits.
Morris is also relatively near by and after a long night of counting his profits, I can see him choosing to unwind by throwing rocks at the less fortunate.
@@wargrunt42 Marlon sponsored this video and told me not to snitch on him ☹
I think Morris could hire henchmen to do his dirty work for him, for sure. Get Linus out of the area to make the area look "better" for business
It also could be Abigail - young and stupid teen, that easily could be outside at night near Sebastian house...
I also catch his dialog that
- he like to throw the rocks into Lake to stress relieves.

That actually makes perfect sense. Both theories make perfect sense. In fact, it could very well be both, depending on how breezy it is that night.
Cant be the dwarf. He has no access until you, the player, use explosives to blast him out.
Yeeees! I've been wondering about this and so far haven't really seen anyone address it. I love this theory, it makes so much sense! ^.^
Ty!!
Oh, that is actually really good, I've never thought about the Dwarf doing it but it does make sense.
expansion on your theory: Linus *is* a spy sent by the shadow people! we know that linus and the wizard are close, and we know that krobus and the wizard are at least acquaintances. not to mention the popular theory that the hat mouse's place used to belong to linus, placing him near the sewer. all this to say Linus and Krobus almost certainly know each other, and given what we know about both of them they would likely get along great. this would also explain what linus is doing in the mines in the first place, because while there are forageables in the mines, that's a lot of effort for some cave carrots. it would make more sense that he's in there *looking* for the dwarf
@@CherriBecker oh wow, this is super interesting!!!
I just got a dialogue from linus yesterday that someone spraypainted on his tent and he spent all morning washing it off. so there is definitely someone targeting him
I always assumed it was the JoJa people being mean about non-consumerist and non-capitalist people.
Mining skills? I usually just use a bomb to meet the dwarf. Poor Linus someone has even destroyed his tent before as well.
Sebastian throws rocks at Linus's tent so he gives him the Sashimi recipe.
Prob Sebastian throws rocks while smoking but not realizing it hits Linus's tent
İ was expect you to say its Sebastian but this teory is much more logical.
Seb is too introverted to do that
I was ready to send back Sebastian to the basement if it was him
I love your theory!
I love your theory, I can't imagine anyone in Pelican Town harming Linus.... except Lewis(if I really need to choose someone), it's a bit of a stretch but something about a wild man living in a tent may bother him since he cares about his reputation/the town reputation so much
when you said it might've been Dwarf, i was thinking "not my boy Dwarf XD"
I was angry at the mysterious culprit, but the dwarf? He’s just a mischievous little guy.
I think another option could be the witch! Since the wizard and Linus are apparently good friends, and the witch might just be bitter about the breakup, and takes her anger out on Linus
Could be George. He's grumpy enough that if he's caught Linus digging through the trash that he might throw crap.
What in tarnation
Makes sense. I love this folklore version of dwarves that stardew portrays. But even the Tolkein versions have the exact same love of mining, and respect for the craft. There is no version of a dwarf that doesn't give you mad respect for swinging a pickaxe well.
Now all we need to do is convince ConcernedApe to give us the illustrious 1.7 update... adding hobbits
Oh that's interesting, especially with the Elemental Wars being such a huge thing to the dwarf !
Lets get our swords out to help our friend
underrated channel, i luv your videos
Also Linus tent is by the side of joja's LANDSLIDE if a landslide was strong enough to block the whole train station than it would be crazy to think that rocks wouldn't fall on his tent even months or even years after the landslide
He also says that someone has destroyed his tent before, and that someone spray painted it.
We all know it's that dirty snake Pierre. He probably used to hide his stash out in the woods until Linus found it and now he has to hide it at home
@@Thepotato24 pwommy?
I always thought it was Alex, just because he seems like the type to bully those weaker than him and he's often at the gym in the mountains.
I think it was the mayor. He's the only one with enough motivation and spite to do it (and this sort of thing is unfortunately quite common in real life).
I always thought it was the Joja workers since they’re trying to clear that rock obstruction in the first days of gameplay.
I don’t know if it was a mod, but I’ve had a dialogue where Sebastian mentions about spray painting Linus’s tent and Linus telling the farmer that some joker spray painted his tent😭
If I could I would build a cabin for him 😭🙏
SAME!
Did you consider the witch in this he is a friend of the wizard and since she's the wizards x wife it's possible the wizard dose state that she goes around cursing everyone or something like that its posible shes taking out her anger on the wizards old friend
No mention of Abigail who goes to the mines and eats amethyst
@@EnergyBrink yeah she's eating the rocks, not throwing them LOL
I always thought it was tourists who were doing that.
You throw stones, I throw hands. How dare anyone hurt precious wild man Linus >:(
I doubt it's the dwarf actually, specifically cause of dialogue i had with linus while playing recently. i dont know if it's new from 1.6 but Linus said "Someone Spray painted the side of my tent last night, it took all morning to scrub it off..." or something along those lines. and i highly doubt the dwarf has spray paint.
He also told me just the other day that someone spray painted his tent?! And it took him hours to clean. So sad
Literally, why is he being harassed!!
@@sodorart it's heartbreaking! I'm nearing perfection and want everyone to be happy 🥲
Some parrots from ginger island accidentally dropped them on a little journey, they were sorry!
obvious is debris falling from the rocks , the mountains at night are like the spooky battle field in asterix conquers rome.
Every night the ghosts of the fallen mighty Shadow people Legions and the Dwarves hordes meet and clash it out in epic ghost walhalla style.
Sometimes I wish concernedape did a crime mystery side plot, with a real revelation. So people could really feel like
the characters or the game have some stakes.
what if it was one of the towns young adults who did it when they were teens. but when they became adults they realized how inmature it was.
or a better idea...
morris just goes out of his way to activley spite linus
You can get the dialouge as early as you can get Linus to enough hesrts. I'm pretty sure it isn't the dwarf. Some people get Linus to 6 hearts before getting to the Dwarf (like me). I think it's just Sebastian or Clint working late and throwing rocks into the lake but accidentally hitting Linus' tent.
I guessed Dwarf from the start
"who would probably just slice them in half" NAHHH😂
This is a great theory! I always thought it was someone like same or alex, but this makes a lot of sense
Tysm!!!
It isn't just rock throwing. He also mentions having to clean his tent because someone spraypainted it.
I know you ruled out Gus but even then I don't think it'd be Gus since he has a scene that shows he doesn't mind Linus & is willing to let him have some food
I always thought it was the dwarf, they seem like they would throw rocks at random stuff
Maybe its marlon testing out his slingshot
I don't know how I found this video but I subscribed 10/10 💀
Wait you cooked with this
Aww Linus deserves better :(
It's actually Abigail. She's always sneaking around the mines and mountains and Pierre probably talks bad about Linus for dumpsterdiving
Dunno if he’d treck up the mountain but he’s definitely been out late and I wouldn’t put it past him to be petty like that😅
@@queenie3443 that old man ain't getting up the mountain LMFAOOOO
Maybe he doesn't like that Linus goes through people's trash at night? stealing his loot he's be able to sell so to say?
It’s Sam. He’s young and healthy enough to climb the mountain and he’s a confirmed prankster. Rotten egg throwing, pouring anchovies into the pot luck stew, leading the town in community service hours, etc
Dwarf is an interesting theory but I think his community raising at night is more for survival. Why would he antagonize someone that not only very close to him but also has done him no harm?
When i first played stardew valley expanded i was surprised that Krobus and Marlon were friends.
considering he lives near the mountain or cliff, it probably just rubble from the mountain its self, it happen from time to time in real life too
I was concidering the witch but the dwarf , now I'm thinking hard
I think I had a dialogue from Vincent saying he did it.
