    Aside from the post and sail you can purchase everything else at Tractor Supply in the fencing section.

    You could use four poles but the gap between the house and tarp will drip. Need a bit of a downward grade towards the yard so it won't puddle on the tarp. Also, the connections in the ground are a fancy way but there is no secure point on the pole attachment and a good strong wind could simply pull up the awning and the poles will fling up and out. The tarp anchors are heavy duty. Nice idea could use some tweaking.

    Great with all the colors! Cheery 🎉
    I assume You just take it down and store it once it gets too cold and put it back up in spring

    The waterproof sail looked like it didn't have enough tension and the poles looked like they were swaying (were they?) when the shade sail swayed in the wind
    The fastening base kit looks like it works well. I'll definitely order those.

    looks good, but you should have installed the poles slightly tilted.

    If so,, can you give some info on that. Thats exactly what I need for my patio. Two anchored on the house and two anchored off the patio in the yard because I didnt want to drill into our new patio. This is perfect.

    Funny how your video popped up just as I'm watching some men install a metal roof over the front of a house. To me, looks like there's not much of a decline for when the rains come, which is almost everyday here now in Tampa. I hope I'm wrong 🙏🏻

    So you mentioned that you put it on a little bit of a decline for the rain to runoff how does it hold up with the snow wet or dry snow in the winter time?

    • @Hometalk
      @Hometalk  10 месяцев назад +6

      If there is a big snowstorm coming, we would recommend taking down the sail. removing it is super easy so this shouldn't take long!

    How did you locate the header under the siding? This looks super easy. Thanks for sharing!

    • @Hometalk
      @Hometalk  10 месяцев назад +2

      It's super easy! You measure up to the ceiling inside the house, take the measurement + 5 inches and mark that on the outside of the house.

      He’s talking about the band board for the second floor floor joists, not a header.

    Can you use 4 poles instead of connecting to your home?

    • @krys3216
      @krys3216 10 месяцев назад +3

      You could use four poles but the gap between the house and tarp will drip. Check out some other ideas before you go and buy this, but it is a nice idea.

      Yes! This is just how he chose to attached his, but you can totally just use poles. (:

    • @krys3216
      @krys3216 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@DebraGill Just remember the house should be higher than the end of the porch so the rain will drain. Maybe a smaller attached/flashed type of material at the house towards the house sided poles, overlapping the awning, will provide a better (less gap) for the doorway area. anyways, good luck and looks like a nice project :) Stay safe, ML&BLSNGS:)
