Wow...brought back so many memories of MY epic trip from So. Cal. to Alaska waaay back in 1979! My good ol' Jeep J-10 4x4 truck with just a camper shell and one of my buddies along with me! It was in Sept. though so the weather was a bit nicer! 😄 Went all the way up to Circle and then down to Kenai Peninsula. Returned home on the Cassiar Hwy. which at that time was even worse than the Alcan Hwy! Just over a month and almost 9k miles total! Gotta find the slides of our trip (yeah, long before digital cameras!). Great video, great adventure! Thanks for sharing that...
Get an Espar coolant heater for those cold starts with no where to plug in. Plumbs into your coolant lines and pushes hot coolant through your system for up to 120 minutes, you can schedule auto starts to come on at whatever time you want so you wake up to a warm truck. Uses diesel from your tank to run
When I lived in Bethel, i used a oil heating dp stick, a battery blanket and was still worried if the van would start...lol. although I did drive for over 6 months without a water pump.

It seems like you turn the heat on as soon as you start the truck? Leave the heat off until the truck is warmed up & whatever heat the engine makes stays in the engine. That's why it takes the truck so long to heat up.
About being happy alone, Amen, brother. I did two, one year backpacking trips in Europe and Australia and was never happier in my life. Of course, I met many people on my travels and enjoyed their company. I don't consider myself a loner, but I'm very comfortable being alone.
You made it Timmy. Glad your home. I haven't been watching for probly 6 months. Just been too busy. I'm back tho. Thank heavens. Thank you for taking us along. Your awesome and blessed. 🏔️

The reason for cycling the key for the plugs is just incase one doesn’t kick on first turn. Found that out recently.
Ugh ! Isolation for sure / ugh hopefully with girlfriend and a dog all you need and open road ! Heaven!
