  • Prosecutors in the murder trial of a former Ohio sheriff’s deputy say his claims that the man he fatally shot posed a threat are not credible.
Also Wednesday, defense lawyers insisted that testimony and evidence presented at trial has been consistent with Jason Meade’s statements.
Meade is charged with murder and reckless homicide in the December 2020 killing of 23-year-old Casey Goodson Jr. in Columbus.
The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon. There are no bodycam videos of the shooting, and prosecutors have underscored that Meade is the only person who testified that Goodson was holding a gun.

I dont care how good a guy he is and even if he seen a gun the guy was going in the house with keys so why would he shoot a guy 6x in the back for one 1 shot would have knocked him down but another why couldnt he surrond the house with cops to find out if he was a threat in the guy in the house there is no reason to shoot a guy with a big gun 6x for no reason he needs to be accountable cor his actions it was so wrong an experience cop dont make these mistakes

Sandwiches in the left hand, keys in the right hand, gun in its holster in his pants, turning his back, having the metal door not showing what he was doing and BANG six times!
The dude had no criminal record (sad for the defense) had no warrants (sad for you) was only 23, kind enough to buy three sandwiches for family members but a pig with a bad cop brutality history (wasn't allowed in court) decided to kill a black man he saw at the intersection with a gun on the seat or the console. Maybe that black man has an illegal gun!!!! So i have ALLLLL the reasons to kill him. Black + Gun = Death penalty... But the dude was legally carrying the gun...
Like Derek Chauvin. He wanted to do HEAVEY bodily harm to George Floyd (he succeeded) but wasn't planned to kill him... Chauvin is in the can now and for long, he lost EVERYTHING!
Pig was SURELY going to pull him over but NEVER activated it's lights and sirens. Poor black guy had ear pods in his years, so he was dead already when he made the left turn in front of MEADE like soooooo many black men we see in your dump, USA!

They just got rid of a second jury!!!! Don't know how it is possible!!!!! I will get back but : In 2015, Michael Slager shot an unarmed man in the back, planted his taser besides the corpse and was beeing filmed by a bystander not knowing it. When the video surfaced in 2015, Slager lawyers and Union dropped him because it was so obvious on the video. Killing the man plus planting the Taser.
At the State trial, from the beginning the foreman juror told the judge, that juror must go!!!! We will not go anywhere with him, he must go!!!!! The judge said no and of course it ended up in a hung jury because of a bootlicker...
Slager was to be tried again but the federal said : You will be trialed again on the State plus on the federal carges. Slager pleaded guilty to 20 years in federal prison (kind of no quick release on federal) in exchange to let go the State new trial... Finally, Michael Slager from North or South Carolina got 20 years.
But it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove that State juror who was blocking the entire process!!!! Here we have two jurors out................................... And replaced.... Good in Ohio, not good in Carolina????? Darn USA! A chance i live in a civilized country...
And what about Trump today???? So funny for the entire world to watch you...
First question is : Why they weren't able to remove the bootlicker juror in the Slager trial and why they just removed two so far on Meade trial and ready to remove a third one?????
Darn! Sandwiches in left hand, keys in right hand, gun in waistband, earpods in ears, a 23 old good chap without a criminal record or warrants plus a storm door between him and the pig, showing his back....
You see how you are SICK USA!!!!!??????? So sick that you will elect a senile man of 82 or another of 78 in next november!!! You are A DUMP!!!!!!!!!!!@@user-fz6qv4ve8v

I honestly believe the situation in America between law enforcement and the wilding gun happy streets has reached a stage of such fear & distrust on both sides that a whole new system needs introducing.
The police are dealing with an unprecedented level of criminal entitlement & anarchy out on the streets & its made them so scared that they are basically an unsafe public service now.
You risk being shot by a frightened officer focused more on tgemselves & all their safety training these days than with treating people like human beings.
I dont know what happened with this case but it seems to me this police officer targeted a known offender & followed him, then got spooked & shot him for no real reason other than his own head full of nerves & twisted priorities of duty.
There was nothing happening for him to have followed the guy in the first place so he should have kept his been hunting a fugitive all day hyped up, disappointed & nervous self moving & waited for a real disturbance & call of duty.

I hadn't thought about that but you're right. He had already spent the entire morning waiting around for a gun wielding rape suspect to show back up at home but he never showed. He was probably amped up first thing in the morning, and then had to sit there for hours just chomping at the bit. There wasn't sufficient time for all his pent up energy to have subsided, so he brought that with him to the intersection where he saw Casey rockin out. What an unfortunate lining up of timing and events for someone to lose their life..

I am a 62 year old white male who has never been in any legal trouble except a DUI when I was 22. After watching the Prosecutions closing arguments, I wonder how many people are in jail right now from Prosecution theories? They say Christopher Corne never saw a gun in a moving car and that is all the proof you need. 2 people can be standing 5 foot from something and give 2 different descriptions. They say he shot him in the back. As someone with combat experience, you have no idea how fast someone can turn around. They can be facing you and 1/2 a second later, their back is to you. What the prosecution “thinks” happens should have no place in addressing a jury.

    • @drewmoore365

Well since Meade didn't hit his lights and sirens, why would Casey know he was being pursued? Why would he flee if he didn't even know that a cop was pursuing him.
And I agree with you that someone can turn around quickly. But they said Casey turn slightly to the right. And that's when meade shot him. But meade also said, upon entering the home, he had to step to the right, due to door not fully opening. So wouldn't that be true for Casey too. That he had to enter to the right. Not to mention the kitchen was to the right as well. And he was going in with food...
But ultimately, why would Casey, a person with no felonies, no warrants, no criminal history. All of a sudden choose to have a shootout with police after a dentist appointment and picking up lunch for his family. To me, seems meade concocted a story in his mind. That turned out not to be true
