If you're wondering how to get from Toyko Disney to Universal Studios Japan, I have a video that shows you how to do that! ruclips.net/video/gkPhCw9qn28/видео.html
My boyfriend has booked a week in Japan this summer for my graduation and I would be CLUELESS without your vids. As an obsessive over planner I literally adore this channel. I will pay any amount of money for your guides!!
Awww, thank you! You're gonna have such a wonderful time. I'm such a huge planner too, so I know how you feel! I do have our guides for Tokyo Disney and Universal Japan coming out VERY soon. Get on my mailing list so you know when they're out! tdrexplorer.com/updated-tdr-explorer-premium-travel-guides-are-coming-in-2023/
I was laughing at the Red Lobster part because it reminded me when I was at the Tokyo Disney shopping district 4 years ago. The skies opened up and it was blasting pouring rain on us(we were in a part with no cover). The hostess at a restaurant opened the door and flagged us inside. We ran in soaking wet but grateful- it was a TGI Fridays. We didn’t come to Japan to go to Friday’s but under the circumstance…wellll (Oh and they were so sweet. They brought us these big plush blankets to put on our laps since we were so cold from being soaked)
2:24 Japan knows how to make our mouths water with the food models on their displays! Definitely a good alternative to Starbucks as the food looks more appealing. And yup, I don't shame those who want to eat at McDonald's while on vacation. People are like "You're in another country, you shouldn't have McDonald's" and I'm like, "And?" McDonald's isn't in the same in other countries thanks to different menu items, if you're crunched on time it's a place to get a quick bite, they're everywhere in big cities, and like you said it's familiar. And I really hope that the name of that strawberry shop at 3:48 is a Lost in Translation moment, because if it isn't...oh boy
4:11 I like Mos Burger advertises as "SO BIG!!" as if they're the biggest burgers you're gonna get in Japan and yet as you pointed out, the portion sizes are smaller compared to others! So it's very much irony. I love that Universal has its own metro station (for those who don't know, it's the Yumesaki Line which you transfer to at Nishikujō via the Osaka Loop Line from Osaka station) that drops you off at CityWalk...Universal Orlando would never. With all the trains Japan has, it's definitely one of the best places to live without a car. Heck, even the rural parts like Hokkaido or Nagano get good service! Shame how trains used to be the pride and joy of the US...before the country became infested with polluted highways.
We did 2 weeks at USJ and I treated myself to a Tully's double shot every morning. Loved sitting there at 7 in the morning watching the crowd racing to get to USJ. Love your videos Chris. Hi from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
I cannot believe I forgot Tully's! I meant to mention that too, ah well. Everyone can see in the comments to check out Tully's too, ha. Thank you for watching!
Sorry forgot to say the Little convenience store down the alley only takes Cash. Lovely staff . Fruit and Vegetables and frozen meals. If your in a budget. Love your Work Chris. Hello from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
I’ve followed you for years now bc I was supposed to go to Japan riiight after the borders closed 😢 but now my hubby and I are going in May for 2 weeks and we’re hitting up so many of your recommendations, finally! ❤ I’m so excited! And if I see you at a theme park in person, I’m gonna freak out 😂❤
hi Chris I love takoyaki here in mexico is very expensive 80 pesos and not everywhere you can find it but is my favorite "snack" Japanese food and I love ramen too
Bubba Gump's is so good haha!! It was one of my favorite parts of going to USJ! I feel like it keeps with the movie themeing of the park. Although when I went I was really missing Western flavours so I was pretty biased. But I think people should explore more than Sushi-Ro and Saizeriya if they are at USJ.
TDR explorer, most soups unless marked are not vegetarian because they have a meat base for the broth (like chicken or fish) I've gone to the Wolfgang Puck's a few times, the pizza costs more, but tastes 100% better than Saizeriya. The price is also not that bad when you consider it is a sit down meal with a waitstaff and you don't need to pay tip. Strawberry Fetish seems really popular, I think it replaced Candy Time.
Aww it's like a cute little town! I love it! ♥ By the way, and I apologize for this being off-topic, but at Universal Studios Japan have people been having issues with their armbands coming off? I've noticed that a lot of people I watch who went to our new Nintendo Land are having issues with their bands falling off, especially when they hit the blocks. I didn't look like you had any issues though so I was just curious. Thanks for the video and have a good day!!
I’ll be in Japan and USJ next month. My son has autism and is very particular about food. Thank you so much for sharing! Happy to see he can get fried chicken and fries at sushiro!
My thoughts exactly, we're headed Japan way in Sept and all these options for my autistic son are great. Means we can get our sushi on and he can still eat.
So many choices! 😭 We’re going here in a few months and I’m already wondering where to eat after we leave the park. I was thinking Bubba Gump but that Nene Chicken looked so delicious too and I’ve always wanted to try Korean Chicken. 🤤 I gotta remember to grab some Horai nikuman and Gong cha too 😩
Love your video so much. Havent been Japan for long time. I have to say, when the time I watch your Mario World video, i just cry🙈Its just to happy to see that. Cant wait to go. Love Mario so much. And Thank You very much for your video. 🙏🏻🥰Hi from Hong Kong fans
Cool scarf! Red Lobster was really bad when I went despite being really expensive. Bubba gump is also expensive but the appetizers were pretty good and the service was great. I can also back up that the Wolfgang puck pizza is very good for pizza in Japan, better than I expected. MOS burger is expensive for what you get but in their defense it is considered one of the healthier fast food options. If you are into popcorn there is a shop with all kinds of wild popcorn flavors at citywalk too.
I have been dreaming about Bubba Gumps since I was last in Japan in Jan 2020. As an Australian who doesn't have access to a lot of these American places I would definitely eat at there or red lobster or shake shack while in Japan
You should check out Meat Rush in Akihabara. It's in the Yodobashi building near the station and is crazy good. I never can find any vids on youtube of the place, but there is a ramen place near too with a lot of other restaurants on the last floor and it has black ramen and there is a pancake place too XD
@@tdrexplorer they are so good but there is not even one single youtube vid on them, and I have no idea why, especially Meat Rush and I look for vids on it all the time O.O
I thought the Ramen place was good!, they served me quickly, hot and it was tasty, maybe cause it was my first time in Japan?? Anyhow love your content, you are the reason I went to USJ this past January! And I enjoyed every bit of it cause of your info!! Thanks 🙏 🎉❤
THANK YOU for making this video! My husband and I are considering visiting Japan. Our usual vacation is at Universal Orlando, FL. This looks like fun, but I am such a picky eater I think I’ll end up LOSING weight! Lol! (I don’t like sea food!) 😂
I'm going to Japan at the beginning of June with my mom and my fiancee and am a little unsure how to pre purchace Universal tickets. My mom wanted to go and we are going to be there 2 weeks. Should we try to pre buy them or get them at the gate, or just walk in to buy there, and if we do pre buy is it at their Universal website? Sorry for the questions, we were going to spend 2 days in Osaka 1 in Universal and 1 checking out the city and I wasn't sure what would be best.
hello, I just bought my USJ tickets a week ago for travel in March, based on my experience I'd highly recommend buying the tickets ahead of time on the Universal studios website. It is usually quite busy and if you buy at the gate they may sell out or not have the tickets you want. The US website is in English so it's easy to purchase, but I believe their credit card system is down so it is not accepting US credit cards. You can use Apple pay though. Hope that's helpful and enjoy your trip!
I have a guide on our site that explains tickets! Give that a read and it'll help clear things up. I don't recommend waiting to buy them the day of because you risk long lines at ticket booths and potentially selling out. tdrexplorer.com/universal-studios-japan-tickets/
you forgot to mention the special deals that Universal hotel gives to guest at certain food and drink stores. Like Gong cha gives free toppings if my memory doesn't fail me. 😅 And i think free fries from Shake shack.
Personally I'm a huge fan of Mos Burger but that's because I do like the smaller portion (+ I love the topping combo lol), always recommend Gong Cha though. The red bean slush was my fav next to the og tea!! If you're a pizza person I would not recommend Saizeriya lol. (Also, even in america I avoid the Bubba Gump Shrimp co. you definitely go there for the movie/aesthetic and not the food. bleh.)
I understand the difference in money, but I like it when you say something is expensive, but I look up the exchange rate and it ends up being SO much cheaper than the same thing in the U.S. especially for things like merch and park tickets.
Do you have any recommendations for larger groups (we are planning on travelling as a group if 11 people) and any recommendations for dietary requirements? (Dairy and gluten free?)
So are soft drinks not a thing in Japan? I didn't see any as an option at the restaurant you had for dinner. None of those drinks appealed to me so I'd even settle for water but didn't see that either.
if you can't recognize the quality difference between a Shake Shack burger and a McDonald's burger, you really shouldn't be doing food reviews. everything else you've said is suspect.
That would be fun to see! I checked out maps and saw they have a saizariya there at the station that a lot of people eat at while visiting Tokyo disneyland....I'll probably take my kiddos there when we are in the area.

Are you gonna do a video on the Spy Family exhibit?
Is there any breakfast places in universal or the city walk? With how early it seems you need to get there it seems better to eat there.

Is shake shack American?
Yes, Shake Shack was founded in New York City
“Not the most adventurous eater”
lol more adventurous than my mom. She won’t even touch anything that came from the ocean.
I trust your advice more now that I heard you say just go to McDonald's instead of mos burger 😂
$14 for pizza ny style pizza!! That’s cheap!! I live in NYC and a good Brooklyn pizza pie is at least $20+
