@@artinstructor4020 Lolita and lolita are homonymes (they share the same name). One is a book about a young teenager being groomed by an older man. The other (what Aki is wearing here) is a Japanese street fashion based on historical clothing like Victorian clothes. There is a gothic version, a sweet pastel version, and a more classic historic version.
Loli is a completely other thing, it is a type of anime character. Hope I was able to help!

You can find really affordable clothes easily you know ^^ Only brand dresses are expensive

Not if you shop smart! Brand is favoured within many lolita circles, but it can be bought secondhand from wunderwelt or lacemarket. You can get branded pieces quite cheaply if you know where to look. Taobao is also a good option as well as indie brands. The important thing is to follow the main rules - that is, decent poof, a blouse under a jsk, and tasteful coordination!

Some of the comments give me a real headache, as a lolita fashion wearer, however it's nobody's fault since they weren't exactly informed. In this sense, it would have been nice to include in the video a few information about the style itself, to avoid associations with 'cosplay', 'maid', or 'loli'. The outfit looked beautiful on you, but it would have been lovely to include some shoes that would be specific to the style and tie the look together. Another thing that most people falsely believe is that you need to act in a certain way when you're dressed in lolita. Spoilers, it's not the case. I mean, I ain't saying you shouldn't act polite and all, but I like to believe that through this fashion, we manage to actually express our true selves and be creative. Of course, this is my way of seeing things; all in all, I'm glad you enjoyed the experience!
@@matsuyamakitty actually, my creative writing was and is very good from an academic standpoint. This aside, I think that I am more than entitled to speak upon a subject that happens to be my cup of tea. As someone who wears the fashion daily, it's tiring to stumble upon misconceptions over and over and over again just because there is no proper presentation on it. Perhaps you may have had similar experiences with the things you like as well. I did enjoy the video however, and I seriously am glad she tried it and looked more than lovely! If you disagree with me, fine, but I feel like your comment here was far from being constructive and just unnecessary :)

I am actually glad she choose a more simple make up look has if she did a more crazy look and went with a simpler dress the dress would look kind out of place? Maybe that is just me.

Honestly the shoes were the only thing I was a little iffy about. It would have been nice if she talked a little about lolita at the beggining like explaining the origin and maybe a little about it.
