"If two vegans get in a fight is it still called a beef?"
No... It's called a beet...
Nice 👍
I think a beet is what two vegans drop when they spit rhymes
Pretty sure it's called a stir fry, lol. I'll let myself out....
@@coffeedudeguy Vegan raps are called beets

Japan is such a beautiful place, wish I could've explore more when I visited
Yo how r you
dang a flopped comment? how rare!
That's a disgustingly low likes for someone like you!
Here let me give you one, good Sire!
How the frick did you have the time to go in Japan? I thought you have no life and just comments on people’s videos……..
Jk
I'll go to Japan someday and sleep at the internet cafe
It just hit me that this place has been up and running through the Heian period (it opened *before* the Heian period started), the entire Warring States Period, Tokugawa's consolidation of power, the Bakumatsu and Meiji Revolution, and two World Wars. Wowza.
It’s amazing!
The Romans were still around as well. Throughout its existence the Eastern Roman Empire have managed to recover after they have lost their territories to the Arabs; and had experienced many disasters especially civil wars, the sack of Constantinople in 1204, and the Iconoclasm. They were battling against the Bulgars, Pechenegs, Magyars, Venetians, Croats, Cumans, Arabs, Turks and Normans. It is also mind boggling to think that this establishment was around when the city of Constantinople fell in 1453 and the Portuguese explorers discovered the New World 1488. It's really impressive to think that this establishment have been around for so long.
Look at the global scale, this place existed throughout the entire Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Industrial Revolution

Is gonna be Joey and Co. yelling and been crazy for an entire episode 🤣
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE
It's nice to know that despite how the hotel has survived for more than a millennia, they chose to update the look and feel of the place while keeping the traditions. That wooden sign with Aki's name at the front was amazing, and I could only imagine what other notable figures had their names written in those and kept in that hotel.
The reverence, care, and appreciation for old things is a stark contrast with the more western view of wanting the next new thing over and over.
I thought the place itself, as well as all the attention to detail was amazing.
@@shaggybaggums Agreed! You can tell that they go above and beyond their guests, regardless of status. Treating all your guests the same way ensures that the experience is something to look forward to and something that’s so impressive that it stands the test of time.
Idki, it made me a bit sad seeing all the renovations. It would be amazing if they would of just updated the original buildings and if they did renovations they would of stuck with the original style. It just kinda takes away from the whole 1,000 year old thing when there’s nothing that remains from that time.
@@rachelcookie321 I get the sentiment of preserving the original and authentic look of the hotel, but there are also standards that need to be upheld and kept up with.
You gotta understand that the building has been through a lot of years, and that includes plenty of damage and wear.
Then there's the disasters and wars that would have definitely taken a toll on it.
@@41tinman41 I understand that but you can remake it in the original style. Look at other old onsens or old Japanese castles that have been destroyed and rebuilt. They are fixed and updated while still looking like the original building built hundreds of years ago.
I’m definitely here for the beautiful forest…

Aki's face when she dipped into the water, I'm glad I'm not the only one who makes that face when the core temp gets a shock like that.
What sorcery allows Japan to look both modern and ancient at the same time? That hotel is a dream destination!
ye it's pretty nice also just gave you like 69 *nice*
@@Paul20661 Ayyyy
The secret is that Japan holds on very tightly to traditions to a fault. Among those traditions is housing design and the use of the most modern of tech possible.
I hope to go to Japan one day and experience an actual Japanese Hot Spring and more.

I love the evolution of the channel. From being Otaku related contents to full blown Japan culture.
Tell me why at around 1:50 when Aki falls asleep, I went “GODDAMN HOW IS SHE DRIVING” then I remembered. Japan driver side is flipped compared to the US. LOL
Lol, I thought it was normal my whole life. But then I learned that in the us it’s flipped lol

Japan knows how to preserve and continue historical things. It wasn't always great, but it happened.
Yeah, that's more than what Americans can say to that. Don't get me wrong. We've been able to preserve a lot of historical stuff over the years, my favorite being the Civil War statues and such, but we haven't gotten everything. I think that this speaks more on the traditional values that the Japanese have on their historical stuff. And with that being said, sometimes the stuff we have preserved gets destroyed and that's depressing because that's apart of American history. It's important to preserve history as much as possible.
@@ravenfelter3055 Absolutely. So many things are being discovered just now. It could rewrite history.

If I were in Aki's room I would cry. That's the most beautiful view I have ever seen and what a stunning room. 😭😍 One day I hope to visit this place and am able to stay here. 🙏
I absolutely love the fact that you were so appreciative and respectful of not only the hotel and it’s history, but of the past guests who’ve stayed there as well.

It's actually been like a year since I've watched a full aki video. This video was so well put together and I'm more inspired then ever to keep putting money away for a trip to Japan. It's like that was such an amazing simple thing to experience. And it's so crazy how that placed moved and my soul feels like it needs it deeply.

You know what’s really funny? You guys looked so tired on that 3 hour drive, but I do 2 hours in traffic or to visit a nearby hiking trail 😂 The US is so big, that I forget 1 hour can be a lot for some foreigners that visit here 😅 Japan will be fun to rent a car, but I’d be nervous driving on the opposite side.
If I decide to go visit Japan one day, that is the kind of places I would want to visit, regardless of the price. Stunning 😍
The hotel maybe 1300 but it doesn’t look a day over 1299

This was really cool to see, thank you for sharing your trip with us! I really want to see this place in person now.
I don't know if this was intentional or not, but the music you play during the meal scenes is reaaaallly quiet, while the actual audio is normal, so just playing it from my speakers means that those scenes either seem silent or if it's turned up to hear the music then when you start talking it's extremely loud. It's different with headphones on, but just wanted to note it.
Thank you, Aki!
The historical significance of the HOtel is just hard to wrap around the head.

Love the beautiful scenery and some cool history behind it, it's amazing that they've had the place running for that long. Happy to see it's still running after the last 2 years too, hopefully it continues to stay that way. It always trips me out to hear of a place where Deer are a rare sight.
Just last night I saw six of them.
As long as they stay the hell away from my car, all is well.
It’s weird hearing about where deer are common. I live in New Zealand. The wild deer here are descendants from farm escapees.
@@rachelcookie321 Venison is delicious and all, but Deer can be a gigantic pain in the ass.
They are a prey animal, so when they run they don't run in a straight line but instead zigzag back and forth.
I had a deer once run into the side of my car even after I slowed down to let it pass me.
They're not idiots, but their way of getting away from predators has made them pretty susceptible to death by automobiles.
