Hey everyone - so what do you think, would you be interested in a Salmon Run News Series? I think it could be very beneficial to share ideas and tips with each other this way but to also help the Salmon Run community altogether! Please share your opinion and your feedback what you would change or add or even remove! - Personally I think this video got a bit long, but it's the first one. I'd love to shorten it to around 10-15 minutes at maximum!
Personally I watched the whole thing, and still got information out of it, if it’s not for everyone that’s fine, but your doing great at putting out regular content, your opinion on things and informing us (the community) on tips and tricks and that’s fantastic so thanks a lot bro! 👌🏻😁
Yeah I think this is a great idea. It could potentially get really popular, too. I'd recommend definitely shaving down both the video length, and making sure the production time is quick for you. Wanna make sure it's sustainable for you to do without burning out and all. For recommendations, I'd say definitely try and make it more like a news update. Since you'll want it to be something people tune in for every time they sit down to try and play. Maybe write down some quick bullet-points to go over for strategy while showcasing stuff in the test area, and then jump into a match to test it out and revise your recommendations or showcase them at work. Potentially limit yourself to talking when you're in an advantage state during the match to explain how the comp works, so you won't be splitting your attention and messing up your gameplay while trying to explain strategies. Then you can cut the video to just the parts where you're talking. This also gives you a bit of time to formulate what you want to say about each weapon/the map so that your mind doesn't wander while doin so. Though I do definitely understand the want for a longer video, for RUclips reasons. Though that may not be best for this sort of information with a two day expiration date.. hm. Also if this turns out to be a big thing, you may be able to make a discord(?) Not sure. Either way. New subscriber here, I very much enjoy your Splatoon videos so far. You have a lot of good insights!
To take some of the stress off of having to record footage for every rotation, I wouldn’t mind if you recorded this series during your streams out of convenience! Although I’d imagine that’d probably take some getting used to.
1. This is an excellent idea for a series. I’ll definitely be watching this every time before a new Salmon Run shift! 2. The Tenta Brella is one of the stupidest weapons in the game and I love it so much lmao
This is an awesome series idea! This reminds me of someone who did something like this for Risk of Rain 2’s Prismatic Trials. It really helped then and I think it’ll really help now!
Note on squeezer, the dps depends on how fast you can tap shoot, the damage was buffed from 30-38 to 34-50 so the gap between them is much larger. If you can tap shoot reasonably well (basically ink brush speed) it would be better to use the firing mode to kill enemies instead, but it does drain the tank quicker. And also the firing mode has perfect accuracy even in the air
For anyone who didn't remark, the 500 hp balloon has stickers on it and it's to tell you that these bosses has that amount of hp, the higher one at 300 hp has a steelhead on it because that's the hp of the bomb on his head, also it's at the height of which you would need to shoot to hit it, so if your weapon has trouble to hit that target from the ground, that means don't go against a steelhead with that weapon
Well.. I didn't even know you could switch weapons to try them out in that lobby. So I learned something from episode one! So yeah keep them coming lol!!
Bro! The other day I thought to myself. "Would be interesting if there's like someone who would make a guide for every new rotation, to help figure out what weapon should do what, etc" And then I stumble on this video! I want this! Keep this up.
Even your commentaries over gameplay, actually is such a benefit because you can describe and give tips as you go, could do a beginner to pro series haha!
Salmon run apparently is very popular. There are people who exclusively only play that mode apparently ans nothing else.. I love salmon run too! so sure, it'd prob get tons of views & i know i'd deffinitly watch it!. Ever since i decided to give it a shot in Splatoon 2 ( and i never even thought i'd like it) well.... i ended up LOVING it lol and im so happy they brought it back..
This new rotation is a godsend, I was losing hope in ranking up last week because of how bad the dynamo roller was. I would really like to see salmon run specific balance changes because there are quite a bit of weapons that are strong in PvP but awful in salmon run. Salmon run needs more love considering how fun and replayable it is
Bruh dynamo is busted, it has a glitch where it can insta kill maws, it can one hit cohocks chums and small fry while rolling, its rolling alone is one of the best features in all of salmon run for its utility.
I was really hoping someone would start a series like this - I really like this new series, and I'm subscribing to continue watching vids like this hopefully.
i will absolutely stick around for this as a series! i play salmon run perhaps too much, so having a vid like this to look forward to for each rotation would be great, especially as something to pass along to my friends!~
Your videos are very helpful. I'm very new to Splatoon so still getting my bearings. There's definitely a sense of panic when you jump into salmon run and get handed a weapon you've never used before 😅😂
This is such a helpful video, I really enjoyed this a lot! I was very skeptical about Tenta Brella at first because as you said in the video, I am one of those players that would consider it most difficult to use effectively, but your insight has opened my eyes to how useful it is! I would love to see more videos like this, and perhaps more tips and tricks on how to kill the Cohozuna with various types of weapons. Thank you for making this!
This is so informative 😮 I play Splatoon but I don’t really know that much about it, these tips are really helpful & digestible for casual players. Good stuff!

I'm used to an ink-hungry weapon (Bloblobber) but oh man Dynamo threw me off
So glad it's received well! If you have any ideas which parts could be improved or which parts could be removed let me know so we can get better future episodes !
@@HDHaZmY I think for something like this, the shorter you can make the video the better. Weapon rotations are pretty quick so trying to stay on top of it with all of the other videos you have coming out could be difficult. As much as the match commentary is nice to see just from a subscriber's perspective (since you have advice sprinkled in) I think it'd be best to trim the video down as much as possible, maybe summarizing weapons by their role and what their strengths/weaknesses are, maybe do it as commentary over your match footage. Then you can leave all of your advice you give to more in-depth/focused videos based on those topics. All just my opinion. I hope you find success, your videos have been very helpful as a new player.
I’d watch whatever guides you’d make, the RUclips algorithm brought me here, but I’m interested in increasing my skill with this game in any respect just due to the enjoyment I’ve gotten and the time I’ve sunk
@@HDHaZmY noooo problem! I’ve spent a loooot of time fooling around in 2 (most of it being Salmon Run or the Octo Expansion) and now with 3 here… Ooooh here’s an interesting idea. Has anybody chronicled how the returning weapons have changed compared to Splatoon 2?
I'm glad I started studying this. I've been playing so wrong, I thought the weapons were based on play style, I like being support and path inker. also on the watch for revive so being a charger and especially the last person alive is overwhelming
I say go for it. While I myself don't need tips on how to play the weapons themselves, I've had a teammate once try to use a hyrda splatling like a shooter-class weapon. (my rank was a part-time profeshional at the time)I would spend slightly more time discussing weapons that aren't commonly used and/or understood by many people like brellas, splatlings, stringers, and splatanas. Also an explanation on how your weapon's role may change during certain events like glowflies (when you know what you're doing glowflies is easy, but not enough people understand how to properly play this deviated event even in professional).
This series is a good idea everytime a weapon shows up in salmon run that wasn't in a previous rotation in Splatoon 3. Eventually every weapon will be covered by this series.
This is a great video concept! When I play Splatoon 3, I almost always play Salmon Run (besides nabbing first win of the day), so having content this focused is perfect. I agree it's a bit long (maybe reduce the weapon explanations?), but the mix of 1) these are the weapons' specialties, and 2) here's an example game where I apply those concepts and talk through my thought process works really well. It was pretty useful to hear what kind of strategy could be set up with these weapons! Cool format! I guess it'll be cool to check the report to see if each campaign is worth it or not ^^
A smart idea! Salmon Run is my favorite mode and I try to categorize the weapons as well For the current rotation, I feel the slosher is the weakest because I mainly use it for inking and swarms (albeit unreliable at times because it takes 4 hits for the cohoks) The brella is my roller of the 4, specially on this map, you pop the umbrella on an alley or shore lane and it clears and makes way for everyone else (plus hits like a shotgun, but it takes time between shots so just be careful) Dualies and squeezer are good for getting around, aka the scouts/attackers, those two should try to take care of any pillars taking place near the base Overall, a good rotation even if this map always ends up as the hardest for me, but if you let it get too crowded it's gonna be a fast wipe Would love to see what strats others come up with for these!

This is a great idea I think it’ll be a very useful series. Maybe you could rank the weapons from best to worst at the end or rate the rotation out of 10?
ok my personal thoughts on the tenta brella specifically is that it's really good in theory, but pretty painful in practice due to how sloooooooow it is to do anything. meanwhile as a dualies main, the squelchers have been a bit of a godsend for me as something i can play really well, to the point where i can actually swap it's role priority with squeezer tbh (tho squeezer is still surprisingly good)
This is a great rotation, personally I think they're all great weapons and I can't pick either a best or worst. Just wish it wasnt on spawning grounds haha
With the Wave Breaker, did you know that you could "auto revive" ? If you know you will die throw it near you the moment when you take the final hit and if you have timed it well the third pulse will hit you and revive you while additionally demobing for a safe come back.
The Brella info was useful; I hadn't really thought about how the detached form was any good. Next could you please make sense of the garbage Bamboozler?! Thanks!
I think it might be more beneficial to give general tips as opposed to rotation tips if you are to tell your audience 'how to get better.' For example, a small simple tidbit you can tell everyone is to keep an eye for rain torpedoes and get rid of them. They may seem harmless, but they are silent killers. They also affect the entire team. It is what tends to destroy freelance teams. I also believe using the canopy a lot more with the Tenta Brella should be advised. For Cohozuna, it is much more feasible if you recommend your audience to observe the situation and suggest bringing it to the basket. By having one person continuously attack and dodge it while the rest of the team collects eggs, the Cohozuna will not overlap with dropped eggs and it will be an easy target equidistant from every area on the map.
I thought if every video would be 20 minutes that could be too much - but I need abit more time and maybe feedback from you all? And if we could get it down to some tips and 1-2 Runs for examples I think it would be a fun gameplay-type content every few days!
You can do a strat where if the glowflies come to you, you can swim high up on a wall and the salmonids will pile up at the bottom of the wall so the others can easily kill them. Hope this helps!
You are completely wrong about the squeezer because it's automatic mode is used for painting while it's long range mode is used for fighting as it has perfect accuracy and a higher damage while it only shoots a tiny bit slower (if you can mash zr)
Thank you for your comment, but "completely wrong" is quite a harsh statement. It also consumes way more ink as each shot will be 2% instead of 1% and deal half as much damage by the time your Ink Tank is Empty which is vital to Salmon Run.
I feel like most of the enemies from Splatoon 2 got nerfed up, like the fly fish. Not sure if I'm a fan of this version of Salmon Run. I'm sad that the stinger and multi splat bomb special isn't in this one...the stinger special would be a GODSEND in this game. I mean yeah there's that wonky version of the stinger but it's not as powerful. It just seems like the devs spammed the salmonids and nerfed the bosses.
awesome video, but why _wouldn't_ it be worth playing this rotation? because you could get demoted easily if the weapons are bad? maybe it's just because I play salmon run 10x more then I play turf war but Idk
I cannot stress enough how much I hate this map lol especially on high tide. Also Cohozuna on like VP rank is like so freaking hard. Even when we are doing great the timer just beats us. Maybe they can fix the damage output in future updates but yeah, also a lot of rng with spawns
The tutorial I want is for the Cohozuna. I have yet to beat it. We've came close multiple times but its too tanky. Throw eggs at it or at other bosses, attack it between times. There must be a really reliable strat.
Problem with Cohozuna that it's a lot of RNG - What bosses spawn and where - what your team mates are doing - and if you are all shooting him while also using the egg cannon. Also Cohozuna on High Tide with Spawning Grounds is impossible to do I think.
@@HDHaZmY Ah, makes me feel a little better lol. Went through my Salmon Run shift. It was a bit difficult but I got through it unscathed. I think for future guides, some specific guides on the Salmon Run maps would be great. For this type of series, I think you can just do a quick written summary at the start of each weapon in rotation so the video can be shorter. I do like the double matches to show examples of the rotation and the thoughts at the end.
to be honest im not sure what i think about this, at the very least i dont think it makes sense to make a new video for every map/weapon rotation. the main problem i see is that very quickly maps/weapons will return and a lot of the video content will end up being the same. i think instead you should focus the series on general salmon run tips like how to identify which weapons are good on which maps and with what other weapons they synergize well with, what bosses each weapon type should focus on and how to get the most out of each weapon type. a series like this i think makes a lot more sense and would definitely be more helpful in the long term. thats not to say you can't make recurring videos about salmon run, its just that i think thats better for a recurring lets play, and not informational videos
This series of videos is a good idea just please do not do commentary WHILE you're playing, explaining what you're doing in such a chaotic mode takes away focus from playing so both your gameplay and your commentary suffer from it. Just record some matches and comment on them afterwards.

make sure they’re all on whatever the lowest level is, find a high enough wall and stay there while your teammates take care of the chums
You can do a strat where if the glowflies come to you, you can swim high up on a wall and the salmonids will pile up at the bottom of the wall so the others can easily kill them. Hope this helps!
@@nebulacat3810 @Squittle Oh wow I never thought on that! I'll definitely try, thanks guys!
Me, a Tenta Brella main: *vibin in A rank*
When I get Tenta in Salmon Run: hOW dO i UsE THIs WeAPoN???
I didn't know you could change the weapon in the waiting room
This is very cool
You are completely wrong about the squeezer because it's automatic mode is used for painting while it's long range mode is used for fighting as it has perfect accuracy and a higher damage while it only shoots a tiny bit slower (if you can mash zr)
Thank you for your comment, but "completely wrong" is quite a harsh statement. It also consumes way more ink as each shot will be 2% instead of 1% and deal half as much damage by the time your Ink Tank is Empty which is vital to Salmon Run.
@@HDHaZmY sorry I knew completely wrong was harsh but I suck at Grammer and didn't know what else to use
i like this!
Thank you ^^
I’ve always been curious, what do the regular orange eggs do, are they just a metric of how many enemies you’ve killed?
Love this vid
Hey I was going to do this on my channel! Just kidding there’s enough space for the both of us
I hope they add new items to grind
I cannot stress enough how much I hate this map lol especially on high tide. Also Cohozuna on like VP rank is like so freaking hard. Even when we are doing great the timer just beats us. Maybe they can fix the damage output in future updates but yeah, also a lot of rng with spawns
I'm on profreshional +3 and I literally cannot win games there's too many bosses and all It takes it a flyfish to go unnoticed and it's game
More plz
"Bestest"
How did you get to Eggsecutive VP so quickly?
I played a lot mostly!
Ur video for what i searched for completely useless and unrelated 😊
to be honest im not sure what i think about this, at the very least i dont think it makes sense to make a new video for every map/weapon rotation. the main problem i see is that very quickly maps/weapons will return and a lot of the video content will end up being the same. i think instead you should focus the series on general salmon run tips like how to identify which weapons are good on which maps and with what other weapons they synergize well with, what bosses each weapon type should focus on and how to get the most out of each weapon type.
a series like this i think makes a lot more sense and would definitely be more helpful in the long term. thats not to say you can't make recurring videos about salmon run, its just that i think thats better for a recurring lets play, and not informational videos
I think it's all about how I would do it - it's a bit hard now to figure it out but the format can change with all the feedback you're all giving too!
@@HDHaZmY nonetheless i enjoy your content, so keep up the good work :)
Spawning Ground is easy.
This series of videos is a good idea just please do not do commentary WHILE you're playing, explaining what you're doing in such a chaotic mode takes away focus from playing so both your gameplay and your commentary suffer from it.
Just record some matches and comment on them afterwards.
Could be just practice but I'll take your advice into consideration ^^ It's the first episode so we can build up this series together!
Want all your teammates and you
spawning grounds is so terrible
Skip out if you dont like weapons or the map. I am profreshional 2 and 100% dont deserve it.
