- In this video, I'm showing you how I was able to start stressing out my base Mac Mini M2 with Final Cut Pro!
In this video, I'm throwing all kinds of things at the Mac Mini M2. Was I able to push it to the limit or did it handle it like a champ?

Thank You for showing how the m2 can handle normal stuff. 👍
Eberhard from Gernany 🙏
Thanks for this video! This stress test was perfect, I could see it live and with the screen recording was even better! That is the perfect test!
I do screen recording on the edit sometimes and it is good to know that it does not comprimise as much as my Macbook Pro 2018 - Even better if I am not recording!
Thank you soo much!
Looking at getting the Mac mini M2 with 16gb RAM (to be on the safe side, and slightly future proof). Do a lot of photo editing and will be back to video editing soon. Currently using the good old MacBook Pro 2015, but that is slowly dyeing on me now and that the main screen is hanging off 😅. Great videos and insight!
Nice test! It would be nice testing the same project without the screen recorder too. It may put more stress on the GPU while encoding the video on the fly. It’s not a realistic scenario for video editing recording the screen 😅
I did a video like that already lol. The point of this video is to see how much can I stress it out.
@@RoyFlorez oh nice sorry then haha I’ll watch it
@@marcoseliasmep no problem! Let’s just say it’s fully capable to do simple 4K video editing!
The base M2 Mini is a capable machine.....but.....if you make money with your Mac and work on a "deadline", get ANY Pro variant...simple.
Well said, Just Ordered my base model
Thanks Roy
Great info, thank you!
Great info, thanks for sharing your video. But you can edit 4k with minimal Apple Mini.
Your video makes my choice a lot easier. Thanks.
Hope you will make a video on connecting the new Mac mini display to iPad
just ordered the mini m2 got it for 499. 99. amazon. and happened to see this channel , I mainly photo edit , so im jumping from a MacBook Pro 2015 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 16g ram . wondering what improvements ill be getting
That’s a good deal. I’m gonna scoop up the M2 16GB version for $650 at Micro Center. To good of a deal to pass up.
Just found your channel. I subbed after watching the max mini m2 video. Just copped me the base w the education discount. I’m glad I saw your video I was worried I made the wrong decision. What monitor do you recommend for me?? Occasional 4k editing, stock charts, web browsing, watching hd and 4k videos. Nothing crazy. Thanks
Thanks for the sub! You can find some decent 4K monitors. I seem to gravitate towards LG. I bought mine used for like $250 and it’s awesome. If not 4K, then QHD is just fine. I would just recommend get an IPS panel for the best quality. VA is okay but IPS is better.
very good video. Thank you so much.
Do you recommend this base mac mini for me? I do basic video editing for my youtube channel no 4k though... and i am using premiere pro
if you choose mac mini, then switch to final cut pro.
Premiere pro is better on windows.
for 1080p the base model is perfect
Nice video! Also do you think it would be worth it for me to get FCP for 4K ProRes or would DaVinci resolve be good enough?
If you’re doing ProRes, I would probably say FCP
@@RoyFlorez Alright thanks
Can edit videos like Johnny Harris or ali abdal please suggest me
So 1080 with all everything on the timeline should work like a beast no-????
Can you write what kind of keyboard you have?
Thanks Roy
I am thinking of getting Mac Mini M2 Pro with 16GB Unified memory and 512GB SSD storage, for editing 4k movie with some special effects, do you think it would be suitable?
Thanks for the comment. That is more than suitable!
Thank you for your reply, if I was filming a feature movie in 6.2k do you think it would be enough?
The basic 3d is the limit, i got it.
Awesome great vid .. not usual .. tech wanker talking in circles for 10 minutes.. straight forward to the point very cool 🙏
is de base model an upgrade when im from the macbook pro 2015? Just for hd videoediting, i dont need 4k because nobody yet has always that on on youtube. I dont need it for work. So im not an professional with multicam etc. Is then the upgrade for 512gb usefull? Because many people say that the bandwhith is less. And it is something about how many there are, 2x256 or 1x512. If you think about that the money i can save on it, when the mac mini is to slow in about two a three years, i can easy buy an new base model?
And what is slow these days? Isnt every m2 chip an upgrade if you have something older that 2016
@@Jessicaartjes I have the Macbook pro 2018 15" and I will get the M2 Mini with 16gb memory - I do 4K on RUclips and based on reviews, it will be an upgrade!
Fcp version ?
try upscale 4k and upscale topaz video
Which one will you recommend between MM M2 pro 16/512 vs MM M2 24/512 for vlog and real estate drone footage editing?
Either one would handle just fine. If you're doing hardcore 4K editing and have a lot of tabs open at the same time, maybe go Pro. But honestly, the M2 will handle it just fine in my opinion.
@@RoyFlorez the max pro variant i can afford is 16/512 ☹️
@@SC0410 that's fine though. It's "base" but it has the M2 Pro chip. That will be plenty.
Was this edit 4k 10 bit colour?
I’m almost positive the Sony ZV-E10 only does 8-Bit
This is not a stress test…
