This was a very interesting and instructive video, and it was great to hear your thoughts on the positions and see how my thought process differed from yours.
Some takeaways that I (an unrated player) got from this video: 1. Sometimes, you need to think about how to stop your opponents plans, not just how to advance your own plans. 2. It may help to recognize the opening from which a puzzle arrived from in order to recognize hidden motifs in the position. Elaboration: 1. In the second puzzle, Levy saw Bd4 pinning the knight after realizing that black's main idea was Nd5. Additionally, in the fourth puzzle, Levy explained afterwards that the part of the idea behind the bishop sacrifice was to stop black from pushing e5, which would liberate black's knight on d7. Neither Levy or Anna had really considered black's active plans when trying to solve that puzzle. I wonder if they could have done better if they did? 2. After Levy explained the solution to the last puzzle, it struck me that the position must have arisen from a King's Indian Defense! I have been looking at the KID lately, and I suddenly remembered that when white exchanges his e4 pawn (notice that white does not have pawns on the e-file), white will be very happy if he can plant a knight on the e4 square. In the puzzle, the black f5 pawn is preventing this, hence Bxf5!! When I watched Levy and Anna calculate Bxf5, they weren't very happy with the move because they tunneled on g4 as the followup after Rxf5, since g4 regains material equality immediately. I wonder if, had Anna or Levy thought about white's ideas in the KID, maybe they would have found the followup Ne4 move?

I wonder if, had Anna or Levy thought about white's ideas in the KID, maybe they would have found the followup Ne4 move?
just love these videos where you open up and show people that the chess community is so big and filled with amazing people! just love how available Levy makes chess
When you catch yourself thinking that a position is simple, remind yourself to keep looking! (or something like that)
- Naroditsky, some Chess Life article I read a while back
Keep up the great content Levy, loving it
Day 9 of telling levy that I appreciate him saying I'm worth more than a Knight
what's worth more than a Knight? A Dame, probably
"it's just a pawn" really hurt
14:10 "It's... I mean, there's just nothing going on. Like, it's just a pawn."
**sad pawn noises**
Levy trying to redeem himself after yesterday lol
tbh seeing this kind of tears me up at how hikaru acts so bad towards levy when cramling just acts like a true friend here and that just upsets me
FUCK THIS IS SO FUNNY? :! :) &? :(' carry on pls
@@betterthanyou3465 i know they are friends but its so hard to compare this and i am not joking man
hikaru doesn't act bad towards levi
@@NMBrayanAmaya have you never had a friend in your life?
@@dulli41 yeah i know but just looking at old videos on hikarus channel, its kind of hard to tell when they are actually joking or not
You should Dewa training session with the man himself to Kipas entertained.
Lmfao
This is honestly some of the best chess content on RUclips. Please keep it up man!
I loved that idea of the video, in comparing the different game compression between a higher elo rival, you have to do a second part of the video
Can you invite Stjepan Tomic as a guest in this series? He runs a youtube channel Hanging Pawns?
Can we all appreciate that Levy’s the G.O.A.T
What if Levy is actually a goat?
AGADMATOR?
Goat of? Lol. No
You and Eric Rosen, just because we all love both of you
My favourite 2 chess streamers! Anna with her pure positive energy, Levy with his humor and nice instructive content!
The last puzzle i swear to god i came up with but i think it was kind of just chance cuz it was the first idea i saw and i just kind of ran with it the whole 5 minutes,
Came up with the right answer*
I’m 2000 so this is actually very interesting
Same
Same. I actually play a 2400 often and he’s way too strong for me.
@Abel Toshiro sure, you can add me on chess.com my user is 6UESS
Wow I'm rated 900, but I have beaten a 2000 rated player ONCE in a bullet game, idk how I managed to pull it off
Levi- plays all these different ideas
Me being 200 doesnt understand anything 😨
Levy: Bishop a3 is an awful move, I would consider to play poker instead of that move
Anna: I was thinking Bishop a3 could be good...
Levy: *nervous sweating*
24:18
I saw this line completely and I feel happy that they didn’t even think of it haha.
These are fantastic, Levy! Please do more side-by-sides! The top players are all really busy right now, but once the Candidates/World Championship is complete, it would great to get one or two of those guys. In the meantime, I'd love to see Yasser Seirawan on this segment!
people who watched this live but are gonna watch again🤚

✋

You should do some of these puzzles with Eric Rosen!
Rosen: "The best move is Be7."
Levy: 'No it's not."
Rosen: Yes it is, that's a stalemate in 4."
The video titile:2400 ELO vs. 2000 ELO: The Difference
Me:400 that was easy
Levy: makes a 30 minute video LOL
Great vid BTW☺ Edit:this is the most likes i have ever got pls sub to my channel by clicking my profile pic i appreciate yall.
Actually really love this series - excellent content, levy
18:38 they both missed mate in 3 with a fork on the rooks after rook takes on b4 white probably moves the queen attacking both of the black rooks we then move our queen to a1 and the only move left is bishop to f1 and then queen takes for mate
Looking forward to seeing more episodes, maybe Eric rosen, Ludwig, Anna-chess,
Can you bring Carlos Magnuson?
He would be an excellent guest
He's only 300 rated unfortunately tho
She’s not 2000, she’s a 1500 who’s cheating remember?
Nah she's 2000 your brain is just 7 elo irl
hahahah, best comment right here^^^^
@@sussus410 it's a reference you're not getting
@@sussus410 See: Guess the Elo episode 3, game 3
I understood that reference.
What I love about chess players is their willingness to explore New positions
I could watch a lot more of these with less editing even. How everyone thinks and analyzes is so instructive.
