I think its great that you make these videos cant find to many other youtubers or people in general anywhere using the adventurer 4 and covering issues they run into and how to fix em thanks and keep up the good content!
Look into incorporating the "ArcWelderLib" post-processor into your slicer workflow (it can be integrated into Simplify3D, Cura, Slic3r variants, etc). Typically slicers and printers use exclusively straight-line moves (G0/G1), which can lead to processing bottlenecks on certain hardware + motions. ArcWelder converts these to G2/G3 (arc) commands, allowing many curves to be executed with just a single line of G-Code without any loss of precision. Even for complicated curves, G-Code length is typically substantially reduced. Note, your printer MUST support G2/G3 commands for this to function properly. If this is not documented, it can be tested (carefully) by sending the appropriate G-Code. No guarantees this is enabled or supported on proprietary firmware... but for printers not running Klipper, ArcWelder is massively helpful for quality and speed.
Ive heard of slowing down the print before but not a very good reason as to why it was happening. this makes a lot more sense than "the print head just can't keep up"
Careful not to dry for too long when troubleshooting, too long above the glass transition temperature and you'll turn your plastic rubbery. Changing the resolution fixed my problem! Thank you!
What’s your favorite slicer for your FlashForge? I haven’t watched all of your videos. I’m not happy with Flash Print but it’s seems to produce the best prints despite me not liking the settings (elephant foot issues and some others). Could you provide what settings you have optimized on your slicer of choice? The default settings in cura give me terrible prints (poor tolerances and super stringy). Thank!
Oh my god. This whole time using s3d was a lie... I've just tried to print basic retraction test with PETG in latest Flashprint - AND IT CAME OUT 99,8% PERFECT!!! I feel so bad right now, so much wasted filament and time... Thank you!
Interesting things to try. I was wondering if you have any experience with changing the extruder nozzle to improve the print quality? The quality of my prints on my AD4 started going down lately, and I was getting a knocking sound even after raising the extruder temp to the max for that PLA. Turns out the nozzle was the issue. Not sure if it was worn out or just plugged, but after changing to a new nozzle the knocking stopped, and all the blobs and stringing went away. Kind of surprised that I needed to change the nozzle already after maybe 400 hours of printing. Only printing PLA so far. I heard that the sparkly PLAs are abrasive, and I have used them some, but very little. I have mostly used on color non-silky / non sparkly PLA. What has been your experience with how many hours a nozzle lasts on an AD4 before you have to change it?
Hi Daniel! Your videos have been a great help with my Adventurer 4. I just purchased Simplify 3D, but it doesn't have our printer listed. How did you set yours up? Thanks for all that you do!
I've really enjoyed this video. Such great information. I am a little bummed the AD4 isn't as set and forget with prints as i'd liked. I'm still struggling with issues i can't figure out and it is frustrating.
Great video, I was contemplating switching to s3d for the adv4 ( I use it for my raise 3d printers) however might not bother now. I’m not really a fan of Cura either, I wonder how it would perform using Prusa Slicer.
Very nice video and hits my paint point accurately. You mentioned flashprint, I guess you are also using FlashForge printer? I am using flashforge creator pro(FFCP), that was 5years old printer with me. when I start to print a pyramid, the tip is a blob and I tried those single factor validation: filament quality, dried filament, belt tightening, fan speed, hot end temperature, print speed. I am really exhausted. If you are using flashforge, how you convert to G-CODE? how you use S3D in FFCP? I am trying to use Prusa and GPX and failed many times. last one, you have really great video. I am non-native speaker and layman on coding, without subtitle I barely can catch up on buffer/g-code reading session. If you could, will you adding the subtitle in your future videos? that is my issue I totally understand if you too busy to add.
@@justmakeitdaniel7667 That would be super helpful Another topic I'm currently trying to prints are screw and bolts. Not for holding weight but just for connecting printed parts. Sometimes it works great, other times not so much... 😂
Hey Daniel. Been watching your videos and wanted to say thanks for the awesome work you are doing and many thanks for sharing with the rest of us 🙏🏼 I have the same issue as u mentioned in the video, but I only use Flashprint, do u have any idea how to make it more stable with flashprint?
I haven’t figured out how to do it with flashprint yet. Look for something along the lines of “minimum line length”. Basically the smallest straight line movement the slicer will break the part into
@@justmakeitdaniel7667 I tried yesterday to use cura using your video to set it up to the flash forge av4 and it worked like a charm, still have some minor things to play around with, but it seems like your on to something whit the length with the g code, I got a much better results and almost to non stringing. 😃 Thanks again and looking forward to your next video 😊
Cura with creality based printers stringing was always an issue. A few tips are, no z hop, combing, and wipe distance. This video does a better job of explaining (we used to get that stuttering on 8 bit boards, but using G2, G3 arc commands with arc welder plugin solved that) Stringing : ruclips.net/video/_QRb54zVPfQ/видео.html Arc welder : ruclips.net/video/crNU6UoBsKA/видео.html
I actually have used all three of those settings and tried to tune them without full success. I am getting some whisps rather than a full string across but still undesirable. For context I’m using the adventurer 4 which isn’t a creality printer
@@justmakeitdaniel7667 Whisping is the problem I have with cura on several printers except an old bcn3d sigma which came tuned with a version of cura with a different gui. Now I learning prusa slicer or superslicer or idea maker depending on the project... No idea why the problem exists but would like to know. Thanks
Well...I guess the solution is...wait...gonna have to watch this again. Damn engineers. 😡🤪🤣 I got "slow down" or "learn programming" out of this. 🤣 I wonder if the "per model" settings in Cura will let you adjust temps & speeds on sections of the model? I haven't mastered that tool yet.

I have the same problem for Cura, it really ruins big prints. thanks for this video, I'll try the shortening distance and see if that helps.
I wonder why you didn't try to change the resolution in Flashprint. It also has the setting for it.

Great video Daniel!
In Cura when adding A4, what printer settings to you have?
A4 is not listed and there are loads of printer/printhead settings
I can do a walk through of how I setup Cura for the adventurer 4 in the near future

Use Cura , i dont have any of this problems , and as yuo said is a software problem in this case (simplify3d )
