I’d add a little extra refrigerant to accommodate for the space in those hoses. Make sure your friend doesn’t forget that hoses store some refrigerant. Sometimes an once or more depending on pressures. Good idea to learn what high and low side pressures should be with a high heat load rather than always relying on a scale that may or may not be accurate.
