While I'm not vegan, I really enjoy your content. I'm a cake decorator and love your food reviews (particularly vegan dairy) because I want to use the best products for my vegan customers.
The Wicked boys do like there mushrooms! 😂 I love mushrooms though, so that's a plus for me! I'm sooo stoked to try these. I've been anticipating Wicked coming to the states for over a year now. I'm so happy for the Wicked brothers for their success. ❤
These videos are also for those of us that just enjoy watching you two! I will probably not buy anything here because I like homemade too, but did I just watch the entire video? Absolutely! Thanks for another great video.
part of what took me so long to adopt a plant-based diet was because it tends to be pretty expensive if you want to make it convenient. I super appreciate the two of you testing things for us. Thanks guys
We've been researching and experimenting, thinking of going vegan, but not quite there yet. Your videos are so helpful and at least I can introduce things to my husband. It's a start. Andrew's facial expressions would be the same as my husband's. Love you guys. ❤
When I clicked on this, knowing wicked foods and being a huge fan of the sarno brothers and the whole mushroom mafia thing, all I could think was “uh oh. How’s he gonna handle this 😂”
A lot of the online vegan chefs love oyster mushrooms. I'm not a fan due to the texture. I LOVE using Butler soy curls, for a taco filling, pulled meat BBQ, in soups etc. They are healthy and very "clean".
@@simonc4510 We do. But, coffee is king here. Typically, only the very small population of habitual tea drinkers have an electric kettle ... I have one, but only because I make my own kombucha.
@@dash_rabbit but I don’t really drink tea, and I still have one! I use it to boil water for EVERYTHING - cooking rice, cooking pasta, cooking vegetables - boiling water on the stove is archaic to most people in the uk! Lol
We tried the potato beans and chili mac as well as the spicy mac the other day and had to add soooo much salt to both cups. Probably 1-2 tsp lol. Then they were 10/10
I have heard of this brand through Derek and Chad's channel which I discovered because of their incredible mushroom steak technique (insane!, highly recommend checking out even purely as a curiosity) and they seem to make real incredible products - crafted for great texture, bold flavours and good nutrition (mostly). I am really happy the are expanding more worldwide! Makes me happy to see more plant based companies do good on the market :) . Thank you for this review guys! Hoping you are having a great end of the week and wishing you an amazing one ahead!
Laksa is a southeast Asian (predominantly Malaysian & Singaporean) noodle soup dish in a fragrant and deeply flavorful curry coconut soup. It’s often served with toppings such as fried tofu, bean sprouts, and boiled eggs. My family is Malaysian & my relatives run a laksa noodle cart! While it isn’t traditionally vegan, they’ve mastered a vegan recipe for me and it is comfort food at its finest for me every time I go back 😋
Thank you for this testing. I hadn't seen this video from you and I did it backwards. I bought a bunch of items and then found your video hoping you liked them because... I... bought... a... bunch... so (hopefully) l like them as well :)
As a Jamaican living in the UK, I can confirm that we do in fact call oats porridge too. We have oats porridge, rice porridge , plantain porridge, cornmeal porridge and maybe even more. If anyone call it oatmeal alone, they definitely Americanise. Which tbf a lot of Jamaicans are these days , especially being so present online unlike in the 90s and having so many families in America and Canada.
I buy the porridges from Tescos as I'm only hungry when I get to work, not before.. (we have an electric kettle at work 🤗) It's been fun watching you try these foods. Thank you 😍
I enjoyed this. I just purchased the wicked brand Korean mushroom shreds at Kroger the other day and was trying to get more ideas on what to pair with it. I almost bought the pink pesto but changed my mind because it’s pink lol. But interesting you guys liked it and that they recommend pairing with pizza! I’ll look out for the coconut korma and pumpkin curry next time I go shopping. Thanks again.
These are perfect airbnb hacks, specially if traveling to non-vegan friendly cities. Or traveling with non-vegan family and you don't want to cook a whole separate meal just for yourself .... :)
Just found this video. I’m working 11 hour days for the next few weeks and won’t have much time for cooking so I’ll be looking for some of these at my local Kroger
I feel you on no Kroger. I pass 3 local grocery stores and a Safeway before getting to the Sprouts so not sure I will buy these but happy to see more vegan options coming to the US.
Grocery Outlet, a bargain market full of short-dated and off-brands, was selling Wicked Foods frozen chorizo packs of six for $2.50. I got 4, figuring if I didn't like it, I could make dog food out of it, since the ingredients seemed harmless. Well, I'm going to make room in my freezer and go back and get a dozen more. Delicious, and each sausage is only 90 calories. I microwaved one, broiled another, and I wound up preferring the zapped one.
Wicked kitchen giving there take on the British Pot noodles lol! These are like meals to go but in the Uk they have a larger range of spices, mooch, puddings and ready meals available at Tesco. I love mushrooms and I’m a huge fan of their products worth a try.
Tesco (founder Terence Cohen) is the largest grocery chain in Britain with about 25% of the market share I lived in a town in Britain where the big out of town supermarket was Tesco the in town supermarket was Tesco and they had four additional mini-stores called Tesco-Extra So we were a Tesco town others have different supermarkets
recommendation..dont look at daily value for the sodium, look at the mg. the daily values for that sort of thing is made higher on purpose so it doesnt sound like much.
I live in the UK and like the recipes the Wicked Kitchen roll out on RUclips. They taste great and are really easy to follow and make and I agree with the comments here about frying mushrooms to make 'steaks'. Really, really good! Have to say though, that there aren't many of their ready meals that live up to what I'm hoping the food will taste like. I guess that's what mass manufacture does to great chefs food sometimes. Ok tasting, and expensive (about £5 or £6 per main meal) for a ready meal and therefore, disappointing. An exception to the rule is their version of Sticky Toffee pudding, which is insanely good and worth every penny of the slightly expensive treat!
I'd like to try the burgers and chorizo. Don't you have kettles in the US? I have tried a few of the products but I think they're slightly expensive for my budget. Tesco is not my regular supermarket, I go there if I want to buy items that other supermarkets don't stock. Have you not tried Helmanns baconnaise?
We get the "wicked kitchen" range here in Ireland as well, their onion dip is amazing buy everything is just sooo expensive, it's just to expensive to buy on a regular basis which is a shame because so far everything I've tried has been good but I've only ever got any of the items when they've been reduced, BTW they also do pizza's which are great, the bacon mayo isn't very good so you aren't missing anything there!!
You don't have the mint choc chip ice cream yet(?) so prepare yourself for some greatness when that comes. At least you already have the beetroot pesto!
I just bought the mushroom tacos but haven't tried yet. Oh no! Don't tell me the Mexican one is spicy..aaarrgghh! I don't recall it saying on the package it was spicy. I was hoping you guys would do a review of these items. Thank you for the video.
So funny Americans don’t have kettles. For us in the UK it’s a standard thing getting hot water bc people drink tea all day long. Personally I like this range but normally choose items from the fridge that have a shorter shelf life. Missing out on their mushroom recipes is your loss 🤷🏽♀️
The only items still available from this list are the Late Night Rice Noodles, and the Punchin Potatoes and Beans Chili Mac. I found the Punchin Potatoes to be pretty good. Haven't tried the Late Night Rice Noodles yet, but I have tried another of their products: the Spicy Coconut and Rice Noodles, which I must say was pretty bad - too watery and some of the items don't cook through. But the biggest problem I have with this brand is the amount of sodium that's in their foods - so much that I just can't have these as more than a once per week thing. The Coconut and Rice Noodles has 41% of the recommended daily allowance of sodium, which is really far beyond what anyone should be eating in one meal.
Derek Sarno really likes spicy. I don't know about Chad. Derek has a technique to make mushrooms look and feel like meat, but I don't think you will see that in a packaged food.
ive seen them at Ralphs and wanted to try them but the amount of oil and sugar turned me off in many of the items. The mac items are too spicy for me so that was my issue with those.
I’ve only tried 2 flavors from this brand, the crunchy bits turned me off completely from even wanting to attempt anything else. Also paid nearly $10 for both packages cuz I got them from 7-11 🤦🏼♀️
I have the spicy coconut, rice noodles cup and it's flavorless. smells great. but has absolutely no flavor. and for a cup of noodles scenario almost 4 bucks is a lot. you expect serious flavor. nope, not so much
