While I'm not vegan, I really enjoy your content. I'm a cake decorator and love your food reviews (particularly vegan dairy) because I want to use the best products for my vegan customers.
Yay! Thank you!
@@MakeItDairyFree go vegan
I'm lazy and cheap, so you doing this testing for us is hero level stuff.
HAHAH, we got you!
The Wicked boys do like there mushrooms! 😂 I love mushrooms though, so that's a plus for me! I'm sooo stoked to try these. I've been anticipating Wicked coming to the states for over a year now. I'm so happy for the Wicked brothers for their success. ❤
They do lol. Hope you enjoy!
An electric kettle will take care of the hot water issue in the office.
LOL yes
Couldn't you also just microwave the water?
Do you not have electric kettles in the US?!?!?! 😱😱😱😱
@@simonc4510 We do. But, coffee is king here. Typically, only the very small population of habitual tea drinkers have an electric kettle ... I have one, but only because I make my own kombucha.
@@dash_rabbit but I don’t really drink tea, and I still have one! I use it to boil water for EVERYTHING - cooking rice, cooking pasta, cooking vegetables - boiling water on the stove is archaic to most people in the uk! Lol
These videos are also for those of us that just enjoy watching you two! I will probably not buy anything here because I like homemade too, but did I just watch the entire video? Absolutely! Thanks for another great video.
Aww thank you!
I really like wicked kitchen, but I don't think I'd pay $3 per pot! Those cups are £1.20 each here in the UK (~ $1.70)!
stop it! Wow
That a high mark up 🤔
I love your taste test videos! You have fun personalities and seem like really nice people!! Good job!
part of what took me so long to adopt a plant-based diet was because it tends to be pretty expensive if you want to make it convenient.
I super appreciate the two of you testing things for us. Thanks guys
Great video as always heading to sprouts this weekend!
I’ve never seen this brand before! I’ll have to keep an eye on out! Love seeing new vegan products 🤗
Same!
VERY VERY INFORMATIVE ...THANK YOU GUYS SO SO SO MUCH!!!! CUDOS !! CANT WAIT TO TRY WICKED!!
Anytime, enjoy!
We've been researching and experimenting, thinking of going vegan, but not quite there yet. Your videos are so helpful and at least I can introduce things to my husband. It's a start. Andrew's facial expressions would be the same as my husband's. Love you guys. ❤
This all looks tasty! Thanks for the close ups. I want those late night noodles right now (it's 10pm where I am and I worked all day)
Hope you can find them!
I’ve seen these the last couple times I have been at the store. Thanks for trying! I’ll get a couple to have as a quick meal on standby!
Nice, enjoy!
When I clicked on this, knowing wicked foods and being a huge fan of the sarno brothers and the whole mushroom mafia thing, all I could think was “uh oh. How’s he gonna handle this 😂”
Once again a very good video.
Andrew reminds me of a polite house guest who doesn't like the food you serve, but doesn't want to be mean when asked how the food is in this video 🤣🤣
LOL
I am plant based and I really enjoy your reviews. It helps me find new products to try out. Thanks for your real opinions!
So happy to hear that!
Tomorrow I'll go to Sprout and hopefully they'll have these products. Thank you for the video :)
Welcome, hope you find some!
I'm really looking forward to trying some of these products!!
Hope you enjoy!
I have heard of this brand through Derek and Chad's channel which I discovered because of their incredible mushroom steak technique (insane!, highly recommend checking out even purely as a curiosity) and they seem to make real incredible products - crafted for great texture, bold flavours and good nutrition (mostly). I am really happy the are expanding more worldwide! Makes me happy to see more plant based companies do good on the market :)
.
Thank you for this review guys! Hoping you are having a great end of the week and wishing you an amazing one ahead!
As an English viewer, absolutely loved this video 😆💜
So happy to hear that
We tried the potato beans and chili mac as well as the spicy mac the other day and had to add soooo much salt to both cups. Probably 1-2 tsp lol. Then they were 10/10
I enjoyed this. I just purchased the wicked brand Korean mushroom shreds at Kroger the other day and was trying to get more ideas on what to pair with it.
I almost bought the pink pesto but changed my mind because it’s pink lol. But interesting you guys liked it and that they recommend pairing with pizza! I’ll look out for the coconut korma and pumpkin curry next time I go shopping.
Thanks again.
Hope you enjoy!
I’m so excited! I’m a new-ish vegan (almost one full year now!) and college student so these seem PERFECT (:
Oh wonderful, glad it's helpful
I buy the porridges from Tescos as I'm only hungry when I get to work, not before.. (we have an electric kettle at work 🤗) It's been fun watching you try these foods. Thank you 😍
Oh awesome, and thank you
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome
Thank you for this testing. I hadn't seen this video from you and I did it backwards. I bought a bunch of items and then found your video hoping you liked them because... I... bought... a... bunch... so (hopefully) l like them as well :)
Another great taste test. I'm going to look for the coconut Korma kit.
Awesome, enjoy!
Laksa is a southeast Asian (predominantly Malaysian & Singaporean) noodle soup dish in a fragrant and deeply flavorful curry coconut soup. It’s often served with toppings such as fried tofu, bean sprouts, and boiled eggs.
My family is Malaysian & my relatives run a laksa noodle cart! While it isn’t traditionally vegan, they’ve mastered a vegan recipe for me and it is comfort food at its finest for me every time I go back 😋
thank you so much for sharing, and also how wonderful that you get that comfort food!
never heart of wicked kitchen. thanks for the review!!
Any time!
I feel you on no Kroger. I pass 3 local grocery stores and a Safeway before getting to the Sprouts so not sure I will buy these but happy to see more vegan options coming to the US.
Thank you for trying everything so I can just try the best of the best haha
Hahaha anytime
wow. So much for personal taste right?
A lot of the online vegan chefs love oyster mushrooms. I'm not a fan due to the texture. I LOVE using Butler soy curls, for a taco filling, pulled meat BBQ, in soups etc. They are healthy and very "clean".
I love all mushrooms but I’m with you on using soy curls. Butler brand rocks.
Hey. I would love to try these ...watching you guys try the spicy flavor broth was too funny 😂😂😂thank you guys for sharing
HAHA! Thanks for watching!
Just found this video. I’m working 11 hour days for the next few weeks and won’t have much time for cooking so I’ll be looking for some of these at my local Kroger
As a Jamaican living in the UK, I can confirm that we do in fact call oats porridge too. We have oats porridge, rice porridge , plantain porridge, cornmeal porridge and maybe even more.
If anyone call it oatmeal alone, they definitely Americanise. Which tbf a lot of Jamaicans are these days , especially being so present online unlike in the 90s and having so many families in America and Canada.
My fav is the coconut noodle pot, its my go to for camping.
Awesome!
Oh snap, I loved their channel, I know their food is going to be amazing also
:)
Have you tried anything from the line?
Omg I neeeed those late night noodles 🍝🤩 🌱
Hope you find them
they are so many ways to make mushrooms tast super yummy especially in tacos or sandwich/burgers.
I’m in the uk 👋🏻The plant chef range by derek is really good and sells so well! I also buy the stuff😂
Good to know!
Love Wicked Kitchen 🏴
Awesome!
Wicked kitchen giving there take on the British Pot noodles lol! These are like meals to go but in the Uk they have a larger range of spices, mooch, puddings and ready meals available at Tesco. I love mushrooms and I’m a huge fan of their products worth a try.
Oh nice, that's awesome
I love Derek and Chad!
Awesome!
These are perfect airbnb hacks, specially if traveling to non-vegan friendly cities. Or traveling with non-vegan family and you don't want to cook a whole separate meal just for yourself .... :)
The Wicked Kitchen Vegan Ice Cream line is the bomb! My non-vegan family members prefer it from cow milk based ice cream.
Grocery Outlet, a bargain market full of short-dated and off-brands, was selling Wicked Foods frozen chorizo packs of six for $2.50. I got 4, figuring if I didn't like it, I could make dog food out of it, since the ingredients seemed harmless. Well, I'm going to make room in my freezer and go back and get a dozen more. Delicious, and each sausage is only 90 calories. I microwaved one, broiled another, and I wound up preferring the zapped one.
You're right about Tesco - it is a British grocery chain. 😊
YAY!
The Sarno Bros.are known for cooking with high spices!
We get the "wicked kitchen" range here in Ireland as well, their onion dip is amazing buy everything is just sooo expensive, it's just to expensive to buy on a regular basis which is a shame because so far everything I've tried has been good but I've only ever got any of the items when they've been reduced, BTW they also do pizza's which are great, the bacon mayo isn't very good so you aren't missing anything there!!
oh bummer on the mayo. It can definitely add up in price, we agree
So we're the cups better than the McDougal? Because the mcdougals cups never seem like they hydrate and are icky
We've never had those
I'd like to try the burgers and chorizo. Don't you have kettles in the US? I have tried a few of the products but I think they're slightly expensive for my budget. Tesco is not my regular supermarket, I go there if I want to buy items that other supermarkets don't stock. Have you not tried Helmanns baconnaise?
very true
From what was shown I'd most like to try the cups.
Awesome, enjoy them
Leave it in its show your compassion for what you it. 😁🙏👍
Are they any good if they I might look for them
watch the video?
The only one In the UK at Tesco is the jackfruit and Dahl
Do you have Fresh Thyme where you live?
Tesco (founder Terence Cohen)
is the largest grocery chain in Britain
with about 25% of the market share
I lived in a town in Britain
where the big out of town supermarket was Tesco
the in town supermarket was Tesco
and they had four additional mini-stores
called Tesco-Extra
So we were a Tesco town
others have different supermarkets
oh wow
Wait till you see the complete range when it arrives USA side. I'm not vegan but really like some of the stuff.
Nice!
So weird to see some of the Wicked brand on your channel. Their desserts are great and the chicken slices too.
I live in the UK and like the recipes the Wicked Kitchen roll out on RUclips. They taste great and are really easy to follow and make and I agree with the comments here about frying mushrooms to make 'steaks'. Really, really good!
Have to say though, that there aren't many of their ready meals that live up to what I'm hoping the food will taste like. I guess that's what mass manufacture does to great chefs food sometimes. Ok tasting, and expensive (about £5 or £6 per main meal) for a ready meal and therefore, disappointing. An exception to the rule is their version of Sticky Toffee pudding, which is insanely good and worth every penny of the slightly expensive treat!
totally understand what you mean
If you were going to use a microwave to cook the bowl/cup of food, you can heat the water in the microwave and then add it to the cup.
lol, yea totally brain lapse moment LOL
Laksa is Malaysian and always delicious. Usually very spicy though but much Malaysian food is.
I just bought the mushroom tacos but haven't tried yet. Oh no! Don't tell me the Mexican one is spicy..aaarrgghh! I don't recall it saying on the package it was spicy. I was hoping you guys would do a review of these items. Thank you for the video.
oh no, definitely put it in with some avocado and stuff to tame it down. Or cook it with some tomatoes so the acid cuts the spice
@@MakeItDairyFree Thanks for the tips!
recommendation..dont look at daily value for the sodium, look at the mg. the daily values for that sort of thing is made higher on purpose so it doesnt sound like much.
yea I couldn't remember while filming what the mg were supposed to be so I just said the value
You can also boil water in the microwave? ;)
bahaha yes
These products expensive 🙄 right? ,, Also the good catch,, although I didn't try makes great fish products ( my son says) not tuna though 🙄
These look good 👍, the pesto..I haven't seen these.. only the shredded shrooms n ok didn't love
Hope you find some you like
Stir half way from irish person.
This are quality hence the increased price but also import tax?
Definitely has to be higher from importing
You don't have the mint choc chip ice cream yet(?) so prepare yourself for some greatness when that comes. At least you already have the beetroot pesto!
oh nice! can't wait to get more products
You can always boil your water in the microwave and then add it :)
LOL yes that too haha
😂
I gotta check sprouts but I never seen these
Literally just saw them for the first time
Hey guys 🙂
Hey!
So funny Americans don’t have kettles. For us in the UK it’s a standard thing getting hot water bc people drink tea all day long. Personally I like this range but normally choose items from the fridge that have a shorter shelf life. Missing out on their mushroom recipes is your loss 🤷🏽♀️
The only items still available from this list are the Late Night Rice Noodles, and the Punchin Potatoes and Beans Chili Mac. I found the Punchin Potatoes to be pretty good. Haven't tried the Late Night Rice Noodles yet, but I have tried another of their products: the Spicy Coconut and Rice Noodles, which I must say was pretty bad - too watery and some of the items don't cook through. But the biggest problem I have with this brand is the amount of sodium that's in their foods - so much that I just can't have these as more than a once per week thing. The Coconut and Rice Noodles has 41% of the recommended daily allowance of sodium, which is really far beyond what anyone should be eating in one meal.
thanks for the update
🤩🌱
:)
Larissa you look familiar. Did you go to WVU?
ive seen them at Ralphs and wanted to try them but the amount of oil and sugar turned me off in many of the items. The mac items are too spicy for me so that was my issue with those.
oh and i didnt even try the spicy items...i just know they are too spicy for me bc they are spicy at all lol
hahahaha we understand about the spice
Road trip! You know there is no Sprouts up here 🤷🏽
I’ve only tried 2 flavors from this brand, the crunchy bits turned me off completely from even wanting to attempt anything else. Also paid nearly $10 for both packages cuz I got them from 7-11 🤦🏼♀️
They were both those little cups
Yo your video wasn't working a few hours ago! I was livid! It works now! We live too far from sprouts 😔 #piesnprose
Oh weird
It looks like the cups are 1/3 full.
Tesco is the best :D They have so many vegan items :D
Nice!
Kroger is the parent company of Ralph’s, smiths, Albertsons and food4less. They don’t name the stores Kroger
Like the beard. You don't see many that long outside of European, German, and sweden.
Thanks
Andrew should watch FANTASIC FUNGI
Noted!
Would y’all like me to go to Kroger’s, see what they have and hook up for a taste test?
We appreciate that so much. We're hoping to connect with them soon
If I had to guess, I'd say the Laksa one is Thai, just bc of the galangal.
Edit: turns out it's Malay :)
Oh nice, thank you
The protein taste was probably soy powder. It looks like those cup o noodle soups they used to sell loaded in salt.
Maybe
Microwave....equals boiled water. Just mic a cup of water and add !
Boil water in the microwave then pour it in
LOL yea, it's hard to think sometimes doing videos hahah
I think Kroger and Ralphs are the same.
Yes. Kroger, Ralph’s & King Sooper are all the same family of stores
We don't have either LOL
Post their RUclips pg
Why don't you use kettles over there 🤣😭
I have the spicy coconut, rice noodles cup and it's flavorless. smells great. but has absolutely no flavor. and for a cup of noodles scenario almost 4 bucks is a lot. you expect serious flavor. nope, not so much
Try not co pls!
We have :) Here : ruclips.net/video/HRGuiXexHa4/видео.html
Next time, take a bigger forkful. 😀
HAHA
I think I’d have a hard time eating something called wicked, but that’s just me. I believe you are what you eat. Both physically and spiritually. But to each his and her own.
Ok
