I have the same pump. It blew out 2 caps. The caps actually broke once the motor was running for about 30 seconds. What would cause this? To be clear, the caps i am referring to are the 3 caps inline next to the unloader.
Hey there, always enjoy your videos. What kind of pump oil do you use on the Simpson Aaa triplex pumps? They call for 15w40 but most oil and pumps call for 30 wt non detergent, which is cheaper and more readily available. Thx
Thanks for watching. So from what I remember the Simpson Aaa are 15w30 non detergent so you can buy any non detergent weighted oil from the auto parts store. I would use what the OEM recommends. I only buy the "pump branded oil" if it's on sale and is the same price as a weighted oil that is recommended. Usually Walmart has the best prices on oil. I hope that helps.
Water was leaking between the pump head and body. When I took off the head I could seal the seals were damaged. On the pump you'll have high pressure water seals and oil pump seals. Usually if I have a pump with contaminated oil I'll change the pump oil/flush it first...then run it for a while to see if the seals were leaking or if the oil just got contaminated.
Working on a Troy built xp 3100 with an AR pump on it and Honda motor. Thanks for posting this!
Well, at least you won't need to worry about prepping for freezing weather if you test now. Great info, thanks for sharing! Have a blessed one!
haha very true...hopefully I'll throw it on a motor to test to make sure it's ok. I like to fully test everything before selling. Thanks for watching.

What was the reason you replaced the seals? I have one allowing water to get in the engine oil and was thinking these seals might be the reason.

Do you have parts list. Can't seem to find it....Thanks
If you go to arnorthamerica.com website then search for your pump by model
number they will have the parts breakdown.
