My twin sister was diagnosed with breast cancer aged 23, then 2nd breast aged 27. Her youngest son, leukaemia aged 11 and her middle child, a boy, leiomyosarcoma aged 34. His 3 children all have Li Fraumeni syndrome. It was when her son with leiomyosarcoma was diagnosed that tests were done and Li Fraumeni raised its ugly head although I knew from a very young age there was something awry as back in the day, 1985 very very few young women had breast cancer. It seems she was the first in the current lineage. Really tough on us as a family but at least we do now have answers.

Hi I am 38 year old beem diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer stage 3 just had my 3rd chemo. I wanted to check if it was safe to drink soursop leave tea or eat yhe fruit as i have heard that it is cancer fighting fruit.
While unlikely to hurt you, sour sop tea/fruit has not been shown to have benefit in preventing or treating cancer. The purveyors of sour sop tea were sent a warning letter from the FDA about their having made false claims about cancer prevention. We hope this is helpful.
Shortly after 3 months after finishing radiation to the right breast and collar bone neck area, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I have no family history of thyroid issues, could this be related to the radition? I did not have any chemo and was diagnosed with Stage 1b.
I hachemo and radiation for TNBC, after those treatments my thymus gland started to grow so i had to remove it, after that my thyroid gland became very active, hiperthyroidism.Doctors said, it could have been the radiation, that was not very good guided only to the chest wall area.I had during radiation strong nosea, that is leading to the idea that it was not properly guided
Thanks for writing. Thyroid problems are extremely common in the general population and are diagnosed more commonly in people who are seen regularly by any medical provider. It is unlikely but not impossible that it was related to radiation therapy scatter. Current treatment methods make this very unlikely, but we never like to say never.

Thanks for writing, and we wish you weren't going through this. Chemotherapy is effective in someone with a tumor such as yours. In someone who makes a high quality (fully informed) decision not to get chemotherapy, ovarian suppression or removal and endocrine therapy can be offered.
