I've been a federal contractor for years on the employee side, so I started my own company to start winning my own contracts. I'd like to pick up a subcontract, do the work myself, and charge higher rates for my work to gain experience on that side of things before bidding on my own prime contracts.

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Год назад +2

      In general, large companies with large contracts have subcontracting plans. Lists of companies with subcontracting plans are posted online, for example at this website: www.sba.gov/document/support-directory-federal-government-prime-contractors-subcontracting-plans
      I would go to the website of the companies you wish to subcontract with. The large companies will make it clear on their website that they are looking for subcontractors, and will identify a point of contact for small business subcontractors.

    • @vjcubastreams
      @vjcubastreams Год назад

      @@FedAccess Thank you very much! Yeah, I saw the list you mention, and also following your advice on another video, am doing a long and growing list of websites of companies who were awarded contracts before. It looks like in my industry (512110) things work differently because none of them say a word about subcontracting...
      I am also observing that in some areas, the feds need more video production than others and I wonder... should I move with my family to Virginia? Miami is generally a desert on government contracts!

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Год назад +1

      look for companies in different industries, so they will not have video capabilities in house and will need your services. For example, I would look at construction -- a company that wins a large construction contract may want to video their progress.
