    Just to let you know, I'm 74 years old and I usually have my son in law do things for me. I needed to change my "Engine Coolent Temperature Sensor" and he sent me your video on how to do it. It made it so easy for me to do it that I was done in around 15 minutes. Thanks for your easy to do video. If I have another problem to take care of in the future I will definitely follow you. 🙂

    you save my car, first i change thermostat but didn't work, the code 0128 and 0118. after watch your video, i replace coolant temperature sensor and work. once again thank for your knowlegde, keep good work

    I agree with Jared Vizzi about the other video. Totally confused me. You got right to the point on your video calling out the error codes and the differences between the two sensors. And you were right, a 5 minutes fix. Very detailed in a short time. Thanks!

    Great video, I had codes P0118 (ECT Sensor) and P0128 ECT below thermostat regulating temperature.
    My car only read cold.
    It also caused my 05 Honda civic not to start after running.
    I changed the sensor seen in the video and I'm back rolling.

      did your car not start right after driving it? mine cranks but no start after i just drove it. but is fine if it hasn’t been driven for a hour or so. also revs itself the odd time upon starting when engine was just used. i have codes P0118 and P0128.

    Thank you. There is another video that shows how to replace fan switch and calls it temperature sensor. It confused me. I e been getting P0128 and temp gauge randomly goes down to C. Already replaced thermostat and that didn’t solve it.

      yups, i had the code po128, and thermostat was "stuck open", said mechanic, so it was replaced in may, 2020, now engine lite came on again, same code po128! think it might be the engine coolant temp sensor,

      did you have to leave the battery off for awhile so it would reset and know the sensor was new/working or did it just work when you drove it? as mine the temp keeps going up and down when driving and i have all new waterpump/thermostat/coolant/hoses it's just literally this sensor and the thermo fan sensor to try. so i'm hoping it's this coolant sensor as the thermo fan sensor is twice the money!

    • @chrisburkhardt4902
      @chrisburkhardt4902 3 года назад

      2001 - 2005? Could potentially be an intermittent issue with this same sensor. I believe on this engine (D17A1 and D17A2 engines) the temp gauge is controlled by this sensor as well. It may not be setting a code because the range is still within spec but the resistance readings from the sensor are not correct which could cause the needle on your gauge to drop.

    Hi! What could cause that my fan switch switches at as high as 98-99C° (~210F°)? Is the switch faulty? It seemingly works (the fan is also working) but switching at a bit too high temperature in my opinion. Should be ON around 93C°/200F°, isn't it?
