I prefer the Eagletac D25C or Klarus Mi7. Olight is just too cool in temperature but I am glad they are offering several of their lights in neutral white such as the H1R which is a fantastic headlamp/flashlight. Thanks for sharing the video.
I've had the older S1 Baton now for over a year. I love it. it doesn't have the base plate charger but that's OK for me. I do mostly clip it on my hat. I wouldn't trade it for anything! great product!!
Its a great little light as far as handheld EDC lights go I use it or the S1A Baton when running at night, although Ive found a preference my H1R nova as its a more versatile shape for general EDC purposes. Olight makes premium quality lights but their prices could use a shake down.
Big fan of the s1r and this is by far the best review of it. It can memorize moonlight mode, that's usually what I have it set to. Also when you press and hold the power button while the light is on it will cycle through all the brightness setting except moonlight bug it will cycle to "turbo" mode which is the 900 lumens without having to double click. The double click is awesome and works when the light is off and same with the strobe. Awesome review thanks 👍
It does seem like a great package. I have been considered going to two lights. A pen light in my shirt or sleeve pocket, and a simple, high power defensive light clipped to my belt or in my pants pocket.
I have had one of these in my pocket for a couple years. I LOVE IT. I don't have the R... but its on my list. I use re-chargable CR123s. Mine came with a pouch, lanyard, white and orange cone, and battery charger. They have some really cool body colors in this light too. PRO-TIP: Spin the clip so that it covers the button, won't turn on in your pocket.

I've been carrying mine for more than half a year, every damn day. I love it, but one thing i noticed is that the light will occasionally not turn on unless I unscrew then rescrew the tail cap. The cap is never loose when this happens. Other than that, great great great performer.
3 minute timer mode would be great for backpacking / camping... hang it from the center or your tent or ridge line and set the timmer while you're getting settled then no need to get out of your sleeping bag to turn it off.
Love it but i prefer the Olight Maverick. Basically the same but it has the off/on controls in the tail switch. That makes it harder to turn on accidentally. Also has narrower/longer beam.
Got this light and love it. Only down side I've found so far is I had the light in my mouth working and my tongue touched the center charging point at the base and gave me a jolt.
Idk if you'll read this, as I'm a little late but can you do a review on the Atactical A1s. It's a nice budget friendly option that's also rechargeable and is 1200 lumens.
I just bought this torch, I’m very happy with it. I also bought the pouch and charging dock to go with it. It really is absolutely tiny, the pouch/case looks comical it’s so small. 👹
Absolutely love my S1R. I haven't gotten mine near water, but I've been wondering if the fact that there are exposed electrical connectors on the baseplate would have any negative effect if submerged. Did you notice any issues in that way?
I love rechargeable olights. You can just keep the charger in the car and if you have power in your vehicle you can charge it in the car. If not keep spare batteries in the vehicle.
Late to the party, but looking to replace a nitecore flashlight with this and had a question. The big reason I’m replacing my Nitecore lights is that, while they do work submerged, they all ended up with water in the bezel (I think that’s the right term haha). Any issues like that with this light?
Love my S1 Baton. It's a non rechargeable version. A lot of nice little features In a very small light. But for the sake of simplicity and overall ruggedness, I usually carry my Elzetta Alpha. It's pretty much bomb proof lol. I also prefer the button on the tailcap as I think it's a little more intuitive and quicker to activate when drawing it from my pocket. I get the magnetic tailcap though and it's a cool feature. Also if I found myself in a stressful situation for whatever reason & needed my light, I wouldn't wanna be messing around with a bunch of modes. Elzetta is easy. Twist tailcap clockwise all the way then press button for high, quarter turn counterclockwise for low, and press light for momentary.
Mine are not rechargible. Just S1. Bought these when it first came out. I already have a battery charger so that new feature was not something I need. But mine will not zap me in my mouth LOL
there getting out of control with these lights lmao, my buddy bought some light that literally can start a match, start smoking dark colored clothing by holding it on the clothes its called a TAKLITE TA-50 led with laser burn, I have stream lights and surefire, but these lil olights and others are great lights for the money... I don't know how surefire stays in business with there prices and there low lumen VS others, if it wasnt for military I think they be gone by now.
I have the S1R and unfortunately never use it due to two major issues IMO. It's too easy to accidentally turn it on while it's in my pocket. Seems like any pressure will press that on-off button. The lockout mode takes too long to disengage when I need to use the light, so I have to unscrew the tail cap to prevent accidental activation, which adds another step when I need to turn the light on to use it. Not good. Also, if I hold the flashlight in my mouth (we all hold flashlights in our mouth's to free up both hands)... anyways, if my tongue accidentally touches the back of the flashlight it's like licking a 9V battery because the charging contacts are on the bottom of the flashlight. These two issues (far far far too easy to accidentally engage when it's in my pocket, and it's like licking a 9V battery if I have to hold the flashlight in my mouth) mean I that I never use the light, it just sits unused in my drawer. It's a shame because on paper it seems like one of the best flashlights ever made. But in use it has annoying design flaws.
Michael Seneschal You could get the olight s1, which doesn't have the charger on back to avoid the tounge zap. Also, how is unscrewing the battery cap and then having to screw it back on faster than just using the lockout mode? Seems lockout mode would be more efficient.
Skinny Moose you can set the light at the setting you want it in with the instructions handy when you get it, and have simple on off for the rest of the light's life
I clearly need more than you do. I'm a finesse kind of person. Sometimes I need a sledgehammer, and sometimes a finishing hammer, but if I can have both in one I'll take it.
I have the sr2 and all i use is high and moonlight, leave it so one press brings me to high and the long press brings me to moonlight. I use turbo at times but usually high is enough. the charging cable is what sold me. super easy to recharge.
stallen I thought $65 is incredibly inexpensive, almost throwaway territory. That's why I got one even though I never use it. I also don't have a Mercedes (where in the video was a Mercedes mentioned...or vehicles of and kind??????).
Cooll Asice not if you actually use it. I've had my s10R baton(older model) for 3+ years now and still kicking ass and taking names. Plus not to mention the amount of money you save on NOT buying cr123 batteries with the rechargeable feature. I'm sold on anything olight, not because of RUclips reviews. But because I've used the hell out of my light and hasn't let me down. Now I'm on the fence about buying the new 900lumen version of my old s10R(400lm), the s1R.
I prefer the Eagletac D25C or Klarus Mi7. Olight is just too cool in temperature but I am glad they are offering several of their lights in neutral white such as the H1R which is a fantastic headlamp/flashlight. Thanks for sharing the video.
I literally just got one of these myself. I absolutely love the features, brightness, and the fact that you can recharge it.

Just ordered one on a flash sale. This will be my 3rd olight. Thanks for the video bro !

Love the UI on Olights. I have the regular S1 Baton and then the H1R, which is my favorite overall light I own.
I have had one of these in my pocket for a couple years. I LOVE IT. I don't have the R... but its on my list. I use re-chargable CR123s. I put a glow in the dark O-ring in the groove right above the power button. fit like a glove.
Awesome reviews as always.

Got one for Christmas and, I love it.
it's my EDC light as well. great for Urban carry. love it. you can pull off and swap the clip

I've never seen that happen, and I've got two of them now. You might want to send it in for warranty replacement.
Mine does that too.
I carry an S15R baton the majority of the time. Great light, never had an issue.
For me the best edc flashlight is this little maglight that's on my keychain. It's small enough to not get in the way and puts out a lot of light!
3 minute timer mode would be great for backpacking / camping... hang it from the center or your tent or ridge line and set the timmer while you're getting settled then no need to get out of your sleeping bag to turn it off.

Nice. I'm really starting to enjoy the rechargeables. great way to save some $ on batteries.

agger732 FUN! 😉
agger732 I just had the same with my s30r! Haha
agger732 get a s1 without charging point
No way charger is where it's at. Only takes one time to know not to do it again. I usually have a hat on but didn't when I did it
agger732 same... like licking a 9v battery.
Very nice and compact.
Love the S1R. Got it sent to me from Olight. About to review their s2r
try the streamlight 1L dual. it's much nicer, I used to carry a baton but had problems with corrosion and battery drain.
Good review. Thanks
I got olight s1 and s2 baton I love these lights..

got mine last cyber monday for $39. hasn't left my pocket since along with my pm2...
There great flashlights I own 3 of the H1R lights.
I have the regular S1, only light use so far but I like it.
You forgot to mention that it has a magnet on the end of it to attach to a knife or any metal as well!
I like it but it's too small, I'll have to go with the s2
Dang it! I watched your video and stopped at BLADE HQ after work and got one.
I love rechargeable olights. You can just keep the charger in the car and if you have power in your vehicle you can charge it in the car. If not keep spare batteries in the vehicle.
Great review as always. My wife hates you, being that I usually end up purchasing several items you've reviewed. Lol.
Ha! Well, thanks.
You can rotate the pocket clip, and it will safely cover the on/off button to prevent an accidental activation.
thawndoo in my experience this actually makes pocket activation more likely.

Will the clip hold it secure in the pocket? Does it fall out accidentally at all through the day?
That's my EDC flashlight. It's awesome.
I have this light, best EDC light I have ever own.
have you ever reviewed the nitecore MT10C? If not could you?
I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
I prefer having the on/off switch at the end of the light instead of the side, it's easier to actuate.
Check out olight s10r baton lll
You purchased it?
Yes.
Personally I love my olight s mini.

Can this use regular cr123
TeaDoubleE85 Absolutely. Just don’t try to recharge it with those in.
Best light on the market for EDC.
very cool
Sorry, I think the Fenix PD22 is better
Great video! I love this light!
Thank you!
You said your think the price is fair, but you didn't actually list a price.
Joseph Bishop it's around $70
I can Google. It's just something I expect in a review. LBS is usually good about it.
gotcha some people are to lazy to use Google lol
Yep. That somehow slipped my mind-even in editing. $65 at BladeHQ.
Love it so much I even bought my wife one. LOL
Mine are not rechargible. Just S1. Bought these when it first came out. I already have a battery charger so that new feature was not something I need.

Too much to remember to operate and access the features.

it's a nice light but I'll stick with my Nightcore tip
Drop in on a log and show what happens
Asphalt will do. ;)
The clip is movable and can be removed :)
Hate to be that guy but your terrible patchy stache is really distracting
Jordan Ownbey true..... and i have a patchy stache too..
Can I put it on my gun (O)WWWww know you have the bad case of the DROPSES
Too many modes for me, I like simple
I agree with you, all I need ON and OFF, and that`s it.
Skinny Moose you can set the light at the setting you want it in with the instructions handy when you get it, and have simple on off for the rest of the light's life
Joseph Bishop cool...that's probably what I would do then.

Please, up front, mention the price. At $65. it's an EXPENSIVE toy. I don't have a Mercedes either.
I wouldn't call it a toy of any kind, but you're right I should have stated the price. Somehow I forgot to mention that.
stallen I thought $65 is incredibly inexpensive, almost throwaway territory. That's why I got one even though I never use it. I also don't have a Mercedes (where in the video was a Mercedes mentioned...or vehicles of and kind??????).
stallen if 65 dollars is unobtainable for quality gear, stop window shopping on RUclips
clearly you haven't tried thrunite ti3.......olight is too big....stupidly expensive for its purpose...anyways, just saying.
I have a Ti3. I reviewed it. I like this better.
SuperButch888 thrunite-120 max lumens and olight-900 max lumens. They are in complety different balls parks.
Too big? Lol maybe your jeans are too tight?
$70 is way overpriced.

Cooll Asice check the flashlight aisle at Walmart...probably something closer to your budget in there...
Stop watching .
