    I prefer the Eagletac D25C or Klarus Mi7. Olight is just too cool in temperature but I am glad they are offering several of their lights in neutral white such as the H1R which is a fantastic headlamp/flashlight. Thanks for sharing the video.

    I've had the older S1 Baton now for over a year. I love it. it doesn't have the base plate charger but that's OK for me. I do mostly clip it on my hat. I wouldn't trade it for anything! great product!!

    Its a great little light as far as handheld EDC lights go I use it or the S1A Baton when running at night, although Ive found a preference my H1R nova as its a more versatile shape for general EDC purposes. Olight makes premium quality lights but their prices could use a shake down.

    Big fan of the s1r and this is by far the best review of it. It can memorize moonlight mode, that's usually what I have it set to. Also when you press and hold the power button while the light is on it will cycle through all the brightness setting except moonlight bug it will cycle to "turbo" mode which is the 900 lumens without having to double click. The double click is awesome and works when the light is off and same with the strobe. Awesome review thanks 👍

    It does seem like a great package. I have been considered going to two lights. A pen light in my shirt or sleeve pocket, and a simple, high power defensive light clipped to my belt or in my pants pocket.

    I have had one of these in my pocket for a couple years. I LOVE IT. I don't have the R... but its on my list. I use re-chargable CR123s. Mine came with a pouch, lanyard, white and orange cone, and battery charger. They have some really cool body colors in this light too. PRO-TIP: Spin the clip so that it covers the button, won't turn on in your pocket.

    I've been carrying mine for more than half a year, every damn day. I love it, but one thing i noticed is that the light will occasionally not turn on unless I unscrew then rescrew the tail cap. The cap is never loose when this happens. Other than that, great great great performer.

    3 minute timer mode would be great for backpacking / camping... hang it from the center or your tent or ridge line and set the timmer while you're getting settled then no need to get out of your sleeping bag to turn it off.

    Late to the party, but looking to replace a nitecore flashlight with this and had a question. The big reason I’m replacing my Nitecore lights is that, while they do work submerged, they all ended up with water in the bezel (I think that’s the right term haha). Any issues like that with this light?

    Love my S1 Baton. It's a non rechargeable version. A lot of nice little features In a very small light. But for the sake of simplicity and overall ruggedness, I usually carry my Elzetta Alpha. It's pretty much bomb proof lol. I also prefer the button on the tailcap as I think it's a little more intuitive and quicker to activate when drawing it from my pocket. I get the magnetic tailcap though and it's a cool feature. Also if I found myself in a stressful situation for whatever reason & needed my light, I wouldn't wanna be messing around with a bunch of modes. Elzetta is easy. Twist tailcap clockwise all the way then press button for high, quarter turn counterclockwise for low, and press light for momentary.

I don't know how surefire stays in business with there prices and there low lumen VS others, if it wasnt for military I think they be gone by now.

    I have the S1R and unfortunately never use it due to two major issues IMO.
    It's too easy to accidentally turn it on while it's in my pocket. Seems like any pressure will press that on-off button. The lockout mode takes too long to disengage when I need to use the light, so I have to unscrew the tail cap to prevent accidental activation, which adds another step when I need to turn the light on to use it. Not good. Also, if I hold the flashlight in my mouth (we all hold flashlights in our mouth's to free up both hands)... anyways, if my tongue accidentally touches the back of the flashlight it's like licking a 9V battery because the charging contacts are on the bottom of the flashlight.
    These two issues (far far far too easy to accidentally engage when it's in my pocket, and it's like licking a 9V battery if I have to hold the flashlight in my mouth) mean I that I never use the light, it just sits unused in my drawer. It's a shame because on paper it seems like one of the best flashlights ever made. But in use it has annoying design flaws.

    • @julioa8321
      @julioa8321 7 лет назад

      Michael Seneschal You could get the olight s1, which doesn't have the charger on back to avoid the tounge zap. Also, how is unscrewing the battery cap and then having to screw it back on faster than just using the lockout mode? Seems lockout mode would be more efficient.

      Cooll Asice not if you actually use it. I've had my s10R baton(older model) for 3+ years now and still kicking ass and taking names. Plus not to mention the amount of money you save on NOT buying cr123 batteries with the rechargeable feature. I'm sold on anything olight, not because of RUclips reviews. But because I've used the hell out of my light and hasn't let me down. Now I'm on the fence about buying the new 900lumen version of my old s10R(400lm), the s1R.
