    Couldn't agree more with educating yourself on how things are actually run. So many people panicking for nothing

    This resonates, big time. I feel like we don't give ourselves any time to just sit and be and it makes a lot of sense as to why that can mess with our judgement

    Your point about understanding the other side in negotiations is so true. I landed a huge client by doing just that!

    People are so quick to think the worlds going to come to an end because of xyz but it really does just keep going. Hard agree with the call to read a book and just educate yourself in general, does a whole lot to get over the fear that the media tries to instill upon us

      Yes, sometimes it’s just getting a different perspective to realize what you are are hearing may not be correct.

    I think this ties into critical thinking. We're just not teaching people HOW to think anymore. Only WHAT to think and it shows, big time.

    This happened to me! I bought a house and the appraisal came in so much lower than expected

    I can't believe that an insurance adjuster could undervalue a property just because they're having a bad day or personally don't like a property/neighbourhood. Like SURELY there are processes in place to avoid that sort of thing happening??

    • @chrisdroberts
      @chrisdroberts  Месяц назад

      This was documented in a book I read but I have actually experienced a tax appraisal that I appealed. When I did the county lowered my taxes because my comps were more accurate that the county accessors.
      You would be surprised how bad it is out there with all the discretion, those who are in charge have.
      They’re almost always processes in place but many don’t follow them or there’s a gray area that they can play in and use their own judgment. This is where the noise comes in.

    How do you handle noise in a high-pressure environment like sales or negotiations?

    • @chrisdroberts
      @chrisdroberts  Месяц назад +2

      It starts with prepping ahead of time before going by into the negotiation.
      Knowledge is power but only when applied correctly.
      Sales is the same thing.
      Learn everything you can about your customers and practice the what ifs. Work through every possible scenario so you can earn a customers business through solving their problems.
      Regarding
      Negotiations
      If you can understand stand what the needs are and the motivations are from the other side you can win someone over into your way of thinking but this takes prep. There are great books on this but it takes practice.
      Good luck!!

    Does system noise affect mental health directly, or is it more about the stress it causes?

    • @chrisdroberts
      @chrisdroberts  Месяц назад

      System noise is more about inaccurate or irrelevant information. This information can take our focus away from what matters and yes case stress and waste time among other things.

    What are your thoughts on meditation to eliminate system noise?

    • @chrisdroberts
      @chrisdroberts  Месяц назад

      @@katiaromanow great idea to decompress after a situation where you experience system noise.
      Sometimes just stepping back and resetting your thoughts helps.
      Often I will just stop listening and clear my mind, then start working through whatever I’m working on.

    "the greatest country in the world" but only compared to third world countries? Plenty of European countries whose citizens are way better off than us here.

    • @chrisdroberts
      @chrisdroberts  Месяц назад

      @@jasesyter thanks for the comment. Better off may be a relative to the person and their needs and wants.
      I’ve met a lot of people from all over the world and many of them that have lived in both places have said they would prefer the US excluding politics of course.
      I’ve also met a few Europeans and Canadians that have said that they love living in those countries .
