Please respond man, I have been struggling with missing left and right even though I get my hand in the middle and spread out my fingers. I have look for a lot of videos but none explain this issue in depth. When I flick it feels like the ball just slips but it still gets perfect rotation.

Usually missing left or right means you’re shooting elbow isn’t under the ball. Also your guide hand could be pulling or pushing the ball one way or the other. I use to not get my guid arm over enough. Alway missed left when I did miss. Try to keep the guide hand all the the way through your shot till the release. Kind of how curry shoots.
With the flick. Just concentrate on a high follow through and make sure you are extending the arm at the end. The wrist flick should come naturally at the end. I’ve noticed if I think about my wrist and follow through that I will do the flick before my arm is extended. Which feels like I lose the ball before the shot is off.
I’m in my 40’s and have tinkered with my shot a lot. Also coach basketball. Also you just got to get shots up everyday. If I go a week without shooting, my shot will feel horrible for the first 30 minutes of shooting until I get all my shot Q’s down.

Maby its because you raise your arms higher on release to not get blocked?

Muscle tension...you're shooting unrelaxed....control your breathing...relax your shoulders...and on your jump shot...try to make either make you in game jump match your practice jump or your practice jump like your in game jump.
