This video should help you if you're using a Bios Version like FB04, FB95, FB06 or FB07.
FB03 works fine aswell on windows 10, but you can't install windows 11 with FB03.

hey, sorry to bother you but i’m using the g5 gd with i5 11400 and 3050 and i’m on FB07 which as he said is one of the broken ones, but currently i’m seeing no issues so i just wanted to ask what game were you having issues on and how much fps did u get before and after updated, i just want to compare, thanks.
@@hour5229 I was having issues on pretty much anything in my experience. I would still do the upgrade if I were you, not only did the stuttering stop, but my performance increased significantly

Bro wtf... you just gave me a new laptop, 2 years without completely understanding what is going on, getting stuttering on low profile games.. updated drives, change soooo many setttings, but never dared touching the bios. Wow thank you so much man this completely fixed my laptop. I got my g5 gd (RTX 3050) for $400 used and it was running games like crap. I figured it had problems and that’s why the guy sold it for so cheap. After watching this, all my shuddering issues were solved and I realize how lucky I got. Again, thank you.

I wish I found this earlier, I got my laptop on February and since then the only "Fix" I had was to play on power saving mode and like that I didnt get any stuttering, but the performance is much lower. Thx for the fix altough I did it 2hrs before seeing this video lol

I just purchased a 2023 model Gigabyte G5 KF5 with RTX 4060 in March 2024 and it had BIOS FB01. It constantly crashed playing intense graphic games like Sea of Thieves and Helldivers 2. It was so bad I finished maybe 1 out of 20 games. I updated my 2024 model G5 KF5 to the latest version which was FB06 and now it works great ! After the BIOS update is done the laptop shuts off which is normal. When you turn it back on wait several minutes for it to start back up normally. That was a scary time for me as I thought I did something wrong but be patient as it is a black screen for at least 3-4 minutes. Thank you for the helpful video.

@@cynicalcomedian4428I think the Gigabyte G5’s have a native fps lock when on battery, I guess it just immediately shuts off the GPU and limits the CPU a lot, or just limits both CPU and GPU greatly. Joke is battery doesn’t even last that long anyhow

Omg thank you so much, now my G5 GD is a lot better!!! still stuttering sometimes on battery (no charge, for casual tasks) but it is way way better compared to BIOS FB07. Thanks a lot, I will test my Genshin Impact medium setting let's see if it still lag or not (of course on charge-power)

I don't know if the KD version is affected. If so, it will have its own BIOS updates though!
How did you feel about KE versions being almost the same price? I ordered KD around 4mo ago too and I was so disappointed when KE became available to order.

i just bought my bnew G5 MF yesterday and i am having stuttering and overheating issues. CPU always at 80% memory at 70% on youtube/facebook only. i followed these steps and found out i am using FB04 BIOS. Now, i updated to FB10 and it all went down to 50% of my usual checked. UPDATING THE BIOS WORKED LMAOOO. it was so obvious yet it was the last thing I did. I had the FB01 BIOS, upgraded to the FB09 and got 75+ fps.

there's G5 (2024) and G5 (2023).
Also G5 (2023) has the models:
G5 MF5 / G5 KF5 / G5 MF / G5 KF
Be sure you have the exact model. When you update the Bios, give it the time it needs and don't shut it down.
When the bios finishes installing, it may reset on its own, but sometimes you have to power it on like in my case. If you are not sure if the Bios finished installing, give it extra time.

Thanks, my friend. I had updated the BIOS before and noticed my laptop was acting up. It never occurred to me that the BIOS was the issue; I thought it was the GPU since it was two years old
I just flashed the bios and now it doesn’t reboot itself I’m gonna wait a few minutes and manually turn it on
Edit: I turned it on and it took a while but after 2 minutes I was in the windows login screen and it’s just like before I also got a lot more fps on Overwatch 2 really appreciate this thank u
About to buy 2 of these for my 2 boys. They are on sale in Australia. What FPS are you getting in Overwatch 2 and on what graphics settings?
I recommend change setting of the processor performance boost mode to disabled. How to do this can be found by searching by the phrase 82be-4824-96c1. In addition, I suggests replacing the thermal paste with Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change material is more thermally conductive than the best pastes. Replace low performance thermopads with gummy thermal paste Laird 607 or Upsiren U6 Pro. And making undervolting CPU and GPU at -100mV or more if it will be stable. There will be less throttling and give more fps, plus it will be quieter, cooler and the laptop will draw fewer watts from the socket.

I have a gigabyte G5-KF with RTX 4060 and intel i5 12500H and upgrading to the version fb09 really made the games feel smoother, had an increase of like 40 fps and the pc is much faster. I've been suffering from the charger turning off while playing heavy demanding games causing massive fps drops and making me turn off and on the charger everytime i want it to come back, saw in some forums that upgrading the bios would fix it, hopefully it does.

Gaming Laptops often aren't really usable for gaming or Video editing on battery. A BIOS update won't fix that....
@@Hubwood Ah... Good to know! thanks!... But I found a fix tho, setting it to best power efficiency in settings seems to have made editing performance a lot more usable when on battery, swtiching back to best performance makes it stuttery again. Interesting....

Is there no difference between FB10 and FB9? I have the G5 MD that I just bought and it comes with the FB9 Bios.
I suppose you won't need the upgrade. I don't know about the MD version anyhow. This video is concerning the GD version.

Probably a different G5 version. Which cpu and Gpu? You might need a totally different BIOS version.

You have a different system most likely. The link was only for the GD version.

You've got a different G5 then. You'd need a different bios. Check the gigabyte website for your specific device.

Hello, I've just bought G5 (2023) with RTX 4060 and it is unbelievable how slow it is. My older laptop with GTX1060 had pretty much the same or even better (for example in atomic heart) performance. FPS drops every few seconds, not depending on graphics levels, but the worst thing is that the bios ver is FB01, but it appears there are no new versions yet. Just wonder if the naming for the bioses are the same for every generation and I cannot use the FB10 for older G5 with 3060, or would it work....
No! You can't use other BIOS versions. You'll have to wait! Sorry!
Are you sure all drivers are installed correctly? Nvidia? Gigabyte? Are you using the laptops performance mode?

Hello everyone, I have a question that may or may not be related. I have the Gigabyte Aero 5 XE4 (2022) and the BIOS currently install is the FB05/F003. Since I got it, the update to the FB09/F007 version is proposed to me. I have then update it to this version, but a problem appeared : when starting playing a game, performances decrease strongly after a few seconds. In fact, it's as if I unplug the power supply, but I don't. The game is running at 30 fps or even less. I had no problem with the old BIOS version so I reinstalled it as it was but the gigabyte control center keeps telling me that a new version is available at start. It seems that this version doesn't work well with 3D apps and I found on the support website for my computer that 3 bios version (with close release dates) are available. Does anyone encouter the same problem ? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if that applies to your model. I'm specifically talking about the GD Modell with the 3050 in the video ;)
I actually update my Gigabyte g5 kc following the same instructions as you showed but with my corresponding BIOS files (FB08, the most recent files to my) and it went well, the laptop installed the new BIOS and after that it stayed turned off ( I waited 3 minutes, more o less if the laptop do something but no), so I press the button to turn on and the laptop start a little bit slower and with apparently 2 reboots quickies, to end the system request me to change my password due to the update.
After I try Genshin Impact with msi afterburner and it showed me that the CPU was consuming 90w (Before I don´t get that consumption) but the temperature went less than 80ºC, so I don´t know what really happened. Then I put throttleStop only with "Disable Turbo" and the consumption was 20-25w and the temperature was around 60 ºC.
Other data: I put the Control Center in "Power Saving" and give the results before showed, with "Performance" mode the GPU reaches the 87 ºC but the CPU keep consuming 20-25 with 66ºC as max.
I still goin to do more tests and If I note something strange or bad I will comment with that info. I hope this will be useful to you.
[After 3 weeks of use] The lap is performing well I suppose, in games like genshin impact the CPU wattage was around 90-110w and the temperatures were around 70-82°C with a peak at 89°C only for a second. In games like Cyberpunk the CPU wattage goes down around 40w and the Temps were around 60-70°C, this happens in other games like "high on life" or "spiderman miles morales". The GPU don't get the full wattage at 105w or 90w but a think is because I apply new thermal pads and paste and I could didn't apply well the thermal pads (the exact broad), however the wattage of GPU was around 60-70w on performance mode.
Yo mate, I kinda have the same shit as you do, so basically it consumes no more then 25 watts, and when gpu goes to 26 game stutters, and it goes back to 25. It repeates every 30sec-1min and I can't do nothing about it, so as you may guess its so hard to play with stutters. The funniest thing is that when I updated the bios to 09(had the same black screen and everything) the consumption was higher then usual with temps lower, and everything looked good, until the following day, the issue came back..

@@MaxAtis did the problems come after you install some drivers?, if is the case try uninstalling that drivers, or reinstalling the drivers of nvidia and/or the intel-display drivers.
I don't think the next situation apply for you but check if the tempetures get at 86°C o more with that wattage, if is the case you have to clean the internals of yor lap and apply new thermal paste (Noctua Nt-h2 or thermal grizzly, are the best).
If that not make any difference reinstall windows, or send your lap to warranty, because it may be a hardware problem. I'm not a expert user but at least I give you some ideas

@@leonf.kennedy1718 I think that my problem is in the cooling system, bc as the temperature goes to 88 then it affects the perfomance to cool down the gpu, I'll clean iternals, and I gotta buy a thermal paste, and see if its changing smth
@@MaxAtis ok, if you want, use compressed air to clean the airfans without remove them, with that test if the temperatures gets so high, because maybe the thermal paste and pads are in a good condition and you save the cost of replacing them.
And directs the air to it goes outside and doesn't disperse the dust to the other components of the laptop
Hey! I Have gigabyte g5 ge 3050 window 11 bios2, i try running the downloaded file but after i open it and run it as administrator nothing happens. The command propt automatically closes and it doesn't restart
It's a different version. You would need a different bios file. Are you affected by the stuttering aswell?
Would it be possible to for you to provide step-by-step instructions on how to update the bios for this laptop. I just purchased a Gigabyte G5 GD and it has Bios FB09. Gigabyte's website indicates there is a new Bios Update FB10 but it only vaguely states it fixes a security issue. My laptop has been running well and I am hesitant to update the Bios for fear of "bricking" the computer. Gigabyte's tech support is terrible and are unable to answer the simplest of questions: such as the what & why for the new bios, and even how to update the Bios. I downloaded the FB10 bios zip file but the included Readme document is confusing as it lists 5-6 different methods for updating the Bios. Your RUclips video just mentions running the BAT file. Is this all that is needed! Thank you for your RUclips videos and for any assistance you may be able to offer.
You don't need to update to FBq0 right now if it's all working fine. FB09 already fixed the issuea mentioned in this video. Just enjoy the laptop ;)

@@zro1395 everything goes smoothly with this one, except for the heat though, if you dont put your laptop correctly on a high surface or in an air-conditioned room then your laptop can heat up really fast. otherwise, this laptop is a beast for its price/performance

thanks for the video. using Gigabytes bios tool it doesn't seem to do anything when running it. cpu-z still says I have the old bios installed. Is it possible theres stuff running in the background that may be preventing it from working properly ? (this is my nephew's computer and it seems to have all the bloatware the computer originally shipped with)

You probably downloaded the wrong bios or have a different version. G5 GD isbthe one in the video but there are many other versions out there. Search for the right bios on the gigabyte website:)
@@Hubwood thanks for the reply. It's the correct one. I run the tool (with the appropriate file chosen) and the computer restarts. But when check afterwards the bios has not upgraded). Have followed instructions of removing AC when restart. Have also tried removing battery as well. None work (have also tried reinstalling windows and then trying it).

The labtop i have came in preinstalled windows 11, if i downgrade this to windows 10 will the current version BIOS FB07 work? Or do i need another version? Also if i do, do i degrade windows first or update bios first?
You should upgrade to Fb09 anyway. Because FB07 has severe performance issues.

Dude, if I have G5 KF with the RTX 4060 series, will the same versions of the BIOS do the work? When I go to the site all I see is FB03 in the support tab in the menu, what do you think, should I install the FB09 ?

С версией FB03 64 fps на ультра с Dlss на качество.
