this was always my favorite Dead South track after 'Good Company' and I'm kinda surprised it's not more popular. compared to their simpler music this song is such a rich and textured and layered tapestry of storytelling and musicianship. someone said it would make a great TV series intro and they weren't kidding. this thing is so ripe for the picking. disappointed that it never got picked up 🙃
