Hail to the king was a big tribute album to their metal idols, so literally it’s their version of sad but true haha
I know that Hail to the King was largely meant to be a tribute to a bunch of metal bands that influenced them (a big one being Metallica) so it makes sense that this is their homage to Sad But True, and I know that people shit on the band for ripping off that song but both are some of my favourite Metallica and A7X songs so I love this one
This is their version of Sad But True and Shepherd of Fire is their version of Enter Sandman, and I love them equally
I learning this song right now and last night I searched “Chainbrain this means war” and there was nothing and I hop on RUclips today and see this. You should’ve seen the look on my face, what are the odds 😂

This album got hate(and maybe stills does?) because people don't understand what inspiration is but it's definitely solid. Hope one day we get to see him play Requiem. Without a doubt one of the heaviest and most bad ass A7X songs! 🤘🤘🤘

Even tho it’s one of my lesser favorite albums I still really love the album and it all the songs on it are pretty damn good
This album was sort of their spin on the black album by Metallica.
Well the whole album was a bunch of different bands that influenced A7X and the song Hail To The King was definitely inspired by AC/DC’s Thunderstruck just by Synyster Gates guitar track

@@jacksonarnold9669 was their version of paranoid and flash of the blade supposed to be on hail to the king? I saw somewhere that diamonds in the rough was just a big collection of left overs from hail to the king and self titled

That is why HttK is their worst album imo. It went beyond “paying tribute” to the bands that influenced them and basically ripped all of them off.
