Hank Aaron was SO much more to the city of Atlanta than just a baseball player . He was and is a legend , a businessman , an Icon , a role model , and a prime example of what a good man should strive to be .

Hank Aaron is from my hometown of Mobile, AL. From my neighborhood of Toulminvile. He was a real life super hero to us back home. We played little league sports in T-Ville at Hank Aaron Park. You don't even understand how much he is loved and missed.

MLB should’ve kept the All-Star Game in Atlanta to honor Aaron the year of his death.

Watched Al Downing, while wearing the same #44, serving up the speecy spicy meat a ball for 715. That was a very proud moment in what was once baseball & it was also a testimony to Hank's consistent excellence by going above what was once perceived to be the unreachable bar & adding a healthy year to it at the end of his career. Sad he's gone.

Henry Aaron played in turbulent times. Like Jackie Robinson, he endured many racial cruelties. He was always compared to Willie Mays for the title of the greatest "black" player. I saw him play in Wrigley field Chicago and County stadium Milwaukee later in his career. He was Mr. Consistancy. Lookup his stats they are incredible. 6856 total bases. I believe he was underpaid for the times like most players before free agency. He did not break the $100k ceiling until 1970. The most he made were his last 2 seasons in Milwaukee (240k). I am glad he is being honored and cannot wait to see his statue unveiling later this year. I can not believe it has been 50 years. Well done, Henry....
