the vents on the falcon are for engine/mechanical cooling (Naka ducts)... I know this because of being an R/C plane builder. I am sure some are could probably be used for machine access panels, but these are most likely for the intake an release of mechanical heat.

the hexagon hole shape i think is the hatch that lando catches luke and brings him inside through after vader lops off his hand at the end of empire strikes back.

Loh Jia Hung it was from the star trek next generations episode when Montgomery scott was freed from a transporter feed back loop and he goes to the holodeck on board the Enterprise D and tells the computer which enterprise bridge he wants to be on after the computer wants asks him to be specific. yes death note.

I feel like you did cover details sufficiently with the BB-8 tutorial. I would have liked to have seen more on the white guoash placement along with the coloring segment. Maybe next time you can cover that in more detail. Otherwise, this was a spectacularly done tutorial. Your artistic patience was certainly tested and greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mark.

I would love to see a video of your white gouache process, I saw you switch to a large brush near the end and smoothed all the gouache out, was that just a wet brush to add a wash to the gouache?

yes, you should do a tutorial on white guach just to make it all superclear. Also, is it possible to use normal white acrlylic paint instead of the guach?

Although I haven't ever attempted drawing the millennium falcon I don't believe that the grid would've been all to useful though it is an appreciated addition to the video .
I love the design of the Falcon so much. Its relatively simple, amplified by complex details that keep your attention fixated on it.
Have you considered doing a video on your own unique spaceship design? Maybe go more in depth into your idea's behind it? I think it would be great for those looking for a way to get started :)

That open front section, at least according to the specs I've read, is where Han Solo installed a missile launcher. In the standard YT-1300 Light Freighters I believe it serves as a large loading port for cargo.

You should do a video on how to draw people dancing. I've personally have been trying to figure it out myself, but it always turns out very wrong. I wanted to draw a picture for my grandparents anniversary. They always loved to dance with each other and I've always thought it was adorable.

Would be great to see a video on zero point perspective and also drawing objects in a scene that don't align with the perspective of other fixed objects, For example a table drawn in 2 point perspective with a box on top that is askew without looking like it's floating. Sorry if my terminology is off, new to this.

I saw it on my birthday. It was really good can't wait for the next movie.
The whole cockpit being on the outermost radial point of the ship's disc shape used to confuse me too... until I learned a little about physics and rotational motion (keep in mind, I'm no physics wiz or anything)...though, I wouldn't really know if our physics actually is analogously applicable to the Star Wars universe. The idea that I thought was that because the cockpit is located on the outermost part of the disc and it's spinning axis, then the cockpit could move faster while rotating about the axis which is centered through the plane of the disc and the spinning axis which goes through the front to the back of the ship as the outermost radial points about the center of a circular path require faster radial velocity to catch up to points about the center of their rotations... Now you may be asking... why does all that even matter? Maybe it allows the pilot to avoid critical damage easier by allowing greater means of dodging incoming projectiles at greater speeds at the cost of being completely vulnerable as there is no outer defenses to protect the cockpit, which is located on the outside of the ship rather than more relative to the center where there are more objects to inhibit critical damage...
IDK that's just my two cents on the wonky design and I could be completely wrong... it could be they simply wanted an awesome looking ship... :I YEAH let's just leave it at that.

How do you make such an amazing and realistic drawing with only gouache, a black colored pencil and one hb pencil, Mark?When i try to draw somewhat realistically i need graphite pencils in atleast five different grades of hardness.

I've actually never seen white guache used in illustration! When I saw the thumbnail I though it would all be colored pencil! Please make the video of the whole process! Or at least slowed down so maybe like a 2x speed video with commentary

Mark, I stumbled upon your BB-8 how to video and loved it. I think the Millennium Falcon is a little outside my abilities currently. I was wondering if you had any plans to do more Star Wars drawings? I am planning on finishing my basement in a Star Wars theme and I want to have some of my own work framed down there as well.
