Your vertical line was lacking verticality? It's stuff like that that makes your narrated videos so watchable.... brilliant. !!
stu wilkie Thank you Stu :)
I liked your impression of the Imperial Interior Designer. "But we also wanted to bring in just a little of the Tatooine feel. Mostly in the palette, I think." Great video man, never stop.
TheDonsGaming Thank you ^_^
+markcrilley I can't tell you how much I love your art though I can barely keep up somehow I can do pretty much the entire body decently but you tell me to draw one eye male or female and I screw up royally over and over again.
I also have trouble with mouths but its not quite as bad I feel could you help me?
You have the best voice, I just turn on your long videos while doing my own art work and listen
+tamara-lily Thank you Tamara-Lily, you're very kind :)
+markcrilley hello Mr.Mark. In one of your future video can you do a tutorial on how we can draw a character in a high and low angle perspective? that will really help some people particularly me.
that you for reading my message
that's exactly what i do sometimes ^^
Thanks for all the tutorials Mark, you've helped me so much with my art :)
i heard the best light saber sound effect in this video ty mark x) ( 8:34 )
Lypide forthefun ^_^ Thank you
markcrilley can you please please do how to colour video. i don't mean the hair one. i want to know how you colour. how you choose colours and how to blend colours.
Marksville love your lessons.
markcrilley
Dang! Those sound effects!👏👏
I've been struggling with this type if thing for a long time and this video was SO helpful. Now I am much more confident in drawing things like this
I attempted to draw a random house interior with a 2-point perspective.
... *Drew a death maze instead* _because of random lines coming out of everywhere._
***** How do you write faint?
Use underscore before and after each word or sentence.
I feel like it is easy to forget where you were going with perspective pieces like this
................GOOD FOR YOU😁 👍
Don't mind me _I'm just testing_ if _it_ works.
Yay, it does. As I just found out there are at least two other ways of formatting text here if you use:
*asterisks*
-minuses-
Sorry for the offtopic.
It would be so epic if Mr. Crilley had a character design contest wow!
Mark you the best drawer I've ever seen in my entire life
This is the first time I'm going to have to use magic to get even close to Mark's greatness. Wish me luck.
Your full scene videos are the best in my opinion, and very educational! Thank you for the share! :)
I have never learned so much about drawing and perspective in just one video. Thank you
This is a great video Mark, thank you so much!
Yo, the lightsaber sounds you made sounded exactly like the ones in the movies! You are awesome, Mark!
Hey mark thanks for teaching me to be an artist at my age now it has been an honor for you to do things that I can't do you are a pro 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
pure enjoyment to watch you draw, Mark. Thanks for the video!
...I'm telling you, that white gouache is like magic lol :D
It was really interesting to see where the *lines* were placed.
Another amazing drawing you done so effortlessly.
Wow that technique of using the contrast on a computer and printing out the drawing and adding white gouache is brilliant, I'm definitely gonna try to experiment with that.
cecollins68 Thank you!
8:44 I literally just thought about that diagonal lines a few minutes before you decided to add them lol.
Your tutorials are extremely helpful and funny, too. It's the best of both worlds.
Thanks for what you're doing!
You're a great inspiration. When I see any of your videos, the next thing I do is take out my sketch book and drawing pencils!
I think to do the bend in the opening what you do is, using the right point, make a a vertical guideline and extend the line of the bend until both connect. Then that point would be the reference point for details on the bend structure. Not sure but I'll give it a try. Thank you. I found this video very useful.
I love the reflections on the floor!
I wish I had this talent. I enjoyed this video so much!
shading really helped make it more visible and understandable, just thought you should know ;)
at any rate thank you for another beautiful video, and more specifically an amazing how to draw video!
can't wait for the next one!!!
Shir Bit Thank you ^^
Ralph Mcquarrie was a magnificent artist his Star Wars art is beautiful :)
I love how your videos can apply to people who don't draw manga/anime. Your background tips are really helpful to me, since I want to become a professional artist in the future. Oh yeah, and I'm pretty bad at backgrounds .
I am _usually_ good at drawing things like this. I find it very fun to draw interior spaces!
To get the pillars equally spaced you can draw a line from the top corner through the midpoint and that will get your next column. It doesn't take that much more time.
for the bevelled ceiling, draw a line from the vanishing point down. Where the line extended from the left edge of the beveled ceiling intersects that line is the new vanishing point for that plane.
This came just as I was practicing my perspective drawing. It was helpful to watch how you do it. I plan to try some of what I learned from you as well.
my drawings started to improve when I watched all you're vidz! so Thank you!
thank you for all the years of help and instruction !
nicely done two point perspective video you did Mr. Markcriley.Hope to see more in the future soon.
YAY STAR WARS!!! I just finished my 2 point perspective project for art class for school I might be posting it as a picture for my 2015 drawing vid I love this one its SO helpful to bad it didn't come out a week ago JUSTKIDDING!!!
truly awesome Mark as always!
I just noticed something similar about how we draw we both draw in a smaller space giving ourselves a certain amount of space you use not being the whole page (if that makes sense!!!)
Snake Belly Skin (I'm sorry I had to be mentioned also try saying bubbles without smiling laughing giggling and it has t be said angrily I can't an you
Mastering manga 2 is going to arrive today! Soooo excited!!!
Mark im a HUGE fan! Ive literally got almost ALL your books!
Greetings from India!
Anurag Nimonkar Thank you!
Another great video Mark, thank you very much for doing them, especially these interior drawings, there great and I'm learning a hell of allot. Please keep them coming mate. Cheers.
Mark you have really outdone yourself this time
+Hobobearman Thank you :)
Hey Mark, wouldn‘t the second figure need a new vanishing point, since the feet are not aligning with the figure in the foreground?
If you draw a line from the foreground figure‘s feet through the background figure‘s feet and up to the horizon line you end up with a new vanishing point further on the right. Then if you use that point to draw a line to the foreground figure‘s head you should get the correct measurement of the background figure as well 😉
Just waiting for Brody's Ghost n°6 to be released and I'm going to mass-buy the whole series plus Mastering Manga from you.
You're amazing and taught me a lot, I feel like my art has improved since I started watching your videos.
Keep the awesome work up, man!
***** Thank you so much! Hope you'll be pleased with the Brody's Ghost saga. :)
markcrilley Not a problem, I'm sure I will be!Greetings from Italy! :)
_Fantastic_ Love your perspective tutorials. It's great practice.
no ones gonna talk about his amazing light saber noises?
Thanks a lot, Crilley! Been dealing with an Art block lately... This kinda got me in the mood to draw again... But I need a bit of a push still!
Draw!
The two characters are not aligned to the right vanishing point, so the height of the second one, should not be determined by the line Mark used. To be more precise he would need to find the height of a character lined with the first one and the left vanishing point to then use the right point. But for a few reasons it was close enough to the "mathematical way" of doing it. Great illustration though! Brought me right on the scene.
+Marcelo Watanabe I though that too. The character to the right should not be on the same parallel (RVP) as the character on the left. I would assume the correct t
thing to do is to run horizontals with Left character feet and head and then extend those back to the right characters position.
Great video Mark! Your work is so awesome!
Mark I don't know if this was done because of a previous message of mine or not (most probably) but I finally get to see how to draw characters closer and further from the camera at least in 2 point perspective
Wow! The amount of detail! I love your style and technique. PS. I don't know why but I feel like I need a tube of white gouache...
Could you do a video about painting? Mainly acrylic, aquarelle and oil paint? I would like to see you do some observation painting where I could also see your palette when you paint. I would like to see some technique, since I'm finding it rather difficult.
Beor Eviols two words. Bob Ross ✌🏿
That man was a legend
Hello, I've subcribed in your channel. I loved the clear and patient way you teach.
Lovee all your videos this one was extra awesome!! Oh and just last week I got the signed poster for pre ordering you book. Sooooo koolll!!! Love the poster and can't wait for the book. Thanks again for all your awesome artness!!!
Andrew Crance Thank you Andrew :)
I find it amazing to watch other people drawing. It's so fascinating :O And your video even got some stuff I nearly forgot back into my head ;)
you r the best mark crilley....u make it so easy...
That is so stinkin COOL!
_AMAZING WORK AGAIN FROM MARK_
Thank you so much for posting this video! I've been trying to figure out two point perspective on my own for a while now because it wasn't taught to me in my school art classes! It's funny since I just graduated high school, and am now going to art school without knowing something as simple as this until now. :)
I just finished book 5 of Brody's Ghost and I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN THE WAY IM FEELING!!!! I need book 6 RIGHT NOW!!!!
I don't really draw, but I watch your vidoes because I enjoy your art and because you have such a friendly voice.
_EDIT_
I might buy one of your books.
Dude! I've seen Brody's ghost while i was working at Amazon! I was getting ready to stow it into a pod when i stopped and opened it up, and despite my stow rate declining, i couldnt put it down, i almost wanted to ask my manager if i could set it aside to buy later (but i was broke so i couldnt anyway haha)
HP McDoogle Cool! Thank you for letting me know :)
Hey mark this really helped with perspective on my drawings, thank you! I am very bad at perspectives and this helped with landscape, i am a manga artist myself :)
I don't know if it was mentioned (and I'm not sure if I recall right), but usually a good thumb rule to avoid a very "pointy" narrow perspective is to make sure that the distance between the two points is at least twice as far as the height of the frame.
Lowkey 3-point perspective with those diagonal lines lol Awesome drawing!
I always laugh while watching your videos. You are so funny and talented :D
I bought your Mastering Manga book and I must say it is very helpful. Thank you!
Dayton Eaton Thanks so much :)
Hey Mark! I just watched your video about how to draw an anime/manga video. Thank you so much! I know you said you really dont have to use proportions but for me I always use proportions and it helps me alot! Thank you
Thank you!!!! I am learning two point perspective in my art class right now and this video really helped!!
The signed poster for the realism challenge came yesterday. All I need to do is get a good frame and put it on my wall. It looks awesome
benchap14 Thank for pre-ordering the book! ^^
I stopped drawing around 8 years ago, so now I find my self watching every video I can to remember what I forgot. XD I went to computer art base doing gaming sprites and well now I wanna draw a manga for a story I'm writing.
Now I just need to remember how to design chariaciters..
It's surprising how big of an effect this little bit of gouache makes.
Hello Mark! I must thank you for most things I learned in the drawing área, because I learned them with you :) When I first found you, I was in a Manga Style. 2 years ago. Today, After following many videos of yours, as well as some other artists, my own style started developing, and I havê a... "Realistic"/DC or Marvel Style. I really like your videos, thank you só much for being a great artists and an awesome person! I would LOVE to see you drawing some more realistic drawings, because nowadays you draw mostly Manga :P
I try to watch all your vids, but I just comment in some, because I am busy most times! Thank you for everything Mark! Love you
Could you do a video on after you've drawn a character how to constantly redraw that same character?
I'm watching this on the 4th of May. May the forth be with you, Mark ^_^
Great stuff, Mr. Crilley!
I don't know if I'm just misunderstanding this, but the two figures seem to be standing on either side of the pillars, so their vision of each other is being obscured by the pillars. Doesn't make for a very dramatic fight =P
Beautiful.
Thats fantastic.. i think it would help me a lot
We want more Star Wars!!!
this was a nice video, very intresting!
great video Mark :D
Veel awsome video. I myself am struggeling with perspective this vid helps a lot ! Looking forward to the 3 point vid. And maybe you could do another star wars drawing of your favorite character? (Who ever that is ? 😉)
u'r amazing ...........seriously...!!!
can you plzz make more videos on one point and two point perspective plzz plzzz plzzzz .........i need them for my assignment ......!!!
and thank u for u'r all videos they are really useful to me ....!!!
Very cool, Mr. Crilley!!
Can u please do a video on how to find the perspective point of a room or how to make a scene look cloudy/dark
I watched the video to see how you were doing the beautiful reflection / colours shade on the ground.. I was greatly disapointed haha !
But good video ! You are making me jealous ( the good way of being jealous ), it make me want to become better and do the same in my own style.. though I do not know my own style !
Anyway.. hey if everything goes well, I will be going 1 month in Japan in a housing familly ! ( This summer )
Wow all I got to say is keep them coming
This looks like a screenplay in this blueish tint :D
I really really learn from you a lot thank you so much
Congrats, on 2 million subs
I wonder, how is it that these characters are facing off when they are standing on opposite sides of the pilars?
Anyway, awesome video Mr. Crilley. I learned a lot, thanks.
It looks amazing! Thanks!!
Love it Mark. Thank you!
I wish I had his skill but I could probably get it from studying his videos and learning; more so, I wish I had his imagination!
that is crazy good my gosh that was amazing
markcrilley You are the best drawer ever! you are making everything so realistic!
I love your videos! ur the best, i know u can become the best drawer in the the world!
sry for my bad english!
You're so amazing good job I think I will try this
STAR WARS AN MARK CRILLEY OH MY GOSH my life is complete
yo yo Mark maybe you could draw some star wars characters? ;)
This looks so amazing..
Matthew Hemraj Thank you Matthew :)
Put this in your fan art playlist
Hey Mark, I was wondering if you could do a video on drawing and coloring transparent fabrics?
Perhaps the next HTD video could be on characters crossing blades?
I really love your videos. Wonderful what you do for the community.
I just wanted to point out that the second figure is off base grid to the first figure. You should have drawn a guide line from the feet of the first out past the floor lines of the pillar, then to the right vanishing point. Duplicate for the height of the figure. I'm sorry to nit pick, just too many high school drafting classes. :-)
