    Your vertical line was lacking verticality? It's stuff like that that makes your narrated videos so watchable.... brilliant. !!

    I liked your impression of the Imperial Interior Designer. "But we also wanted to bring in just a little of the Tatooine feel. Mostly in the palette, I think." Great video man, never stop.

    I think to do the bend in the opening what you do is, using the right point, make a a vertical guideline and extend the line of the bend until both connect. Then that point would be the reference point for details on the bend structure. Not sure but I'll give it a try. Thank you. I found this video very useful.

    To get the pillars equally spaced you can draw a line from the top corner through the midpoint and that will get your next column. It doesn't take that much more time.

    for the bevelled ceiling, draw a line from the vanishing point down. Where the line extended from the left edge of the beveled ceiling intersects that line is the new vanishing point for that plane.

    Hey Mark, wouldn‘t the second figure need a new vanishing point, since the feet are not aligning with the figure in the foreground?
    If you draw a line from the foreground figure‘s feet through the background figure‘s feet and up to the horizon line you end up with a new vanishing point further on the right. Then if you use that point to draw a line to the foreground figure‘s head you should get the correct measurement of the background figure as well 😉

    The two characters are not aligned to the right vanishing point, so the height of the second one, should not be determined by the line Mark used. To be more precise he would need to find the height of a character lined with the first one and the left vanishing point to then use the right point. But for a few reasons it was close enough to the "mathematical way" of doing it. Great illustration though! Brought me right on the scene.

    • @pentachronic
      @pentachronic 9 лет назад +2

      +Marcelo Watanabe I though that too. The character to the right should not be on the same parallel (RVP) as the character on the left. I would assume the correct t
      thing to do is to run horizontals with Left character feet and head and then extend those back to the right characters position.

    I don't know if it was mentioned (and I'm not sure if I recall right), but usually a good thumb rule to avoid a very "pointy" narrow perspective is to make sure that the distance between the two points is at least twice as far as the height of the frame.

    I really love your videos. Wonderful what you do for the community.
    I just wanted to point out that the second figure is off base grid to the first figure. You should have drawn a guide line from the feet of the first out past the floor lines of the pillar, then to the right vanishing point. Duplicate for the height of the figure. I'm sorry to nit pick, just too many high school drafting classes. :-)
