John cougars awesome live, I've seen him a couple of times live years ago it was great, they put on an excellent show and it sounds just like the records.😎 love that chick that plays the electric violin as well. Kenny on the drums good stuff.
Good Morning, nothing some classic 80's songs to get the weekend going! 😀
Great content lately. I can barely keep up. Please keep it coming. It’s all great! Cheers
You're welcome!! So glad to keep everyone busy watching 😎🤟🏻
This is a great couple of lessons. Thanks for being a great player and teacher. Now, it's time to practice.
You're very welcome!
Another fun one Martles!
Hi Marty, awesome choice of artist and songs thank you! 😊
One track I’ve struggled to understand how to play was the fantastic and angry intro riff to “Love and Happiness” from JCM’s ‘91 LP “Whenever we wanted”.
It sounds a simple augmented A chord but I can’t work out the such effective, yet subtle note changes?
The vibrato incorporated is also so very cool!
There are so many great albums by Mr JCM where every song can be enjoyed.
And the range of instruments employed is incredible and usually in no way associated with rock!
Never before have trumpet, violin, banjo etc ever sounded so, so in keeping and at home in the rock genre!
The drum playing just ties it so powerfully alltogether with the vocal being the icing on the cake 🍰 😅
Best wishes
I need to check that song out. The studio musicians really did a masterful job putting these tunes together in a brilliant way. Simplicity with tiny complexities that keep you wondering and coming back for more. Thanks for watching man!!
Dam, your lessons are great, thanks Marty!
Thanks dude!
Love me some Mellencamp, Im a Southern Indiana Hoosier like him. He was amazing live back in the day, I saw him twice in Louisville Kentucky.
I have this saved and will be breaking the Strat out. 😂
Awesome dude! I've never seen him. But man, there's some cool music in his catalogue. He's surrounded himself with great players for sure.
So glad you brought up dynamics. Super important to me as singer songwriter who has to carry everything by myself. Without a drummer I need to change the dynamics to keep the song interesting.
Absolutely. So important and often missed. Solo or in a band. 🎸🎵
Great! Your making appealing and interesting videos, just love these songs 👍
The Lonesome Jubilee is probably my favourite of his albums that I have personally owned since its release, it rocks but with real meaning and always something proper to say.
Love the back of Uh- Huh enjoying KFC! 😂
🚀👍
Thanks for the support man 😃🎵🎵🎵
I remember playing these songs! Thanks Marty 🤘 😊
Rock on! 🤟🏻
Always thought "get a leg up" had some badass guitar
A killer toe tapper..... 😊
Thx Marty, Cheerz from Oz 🇦🇺✌️
You're welcome man! Have a great weekend 😁🎸
I've always loved the guitar parts and tone from his albums.
Same here man!
John Mellecamp never wrote a bad song in my opinion
Nice Strat Marty since your son made off with the white one 😂🤘
Thanks! Yeh, I miss the white one! Hope he's enjoying it hahaha.
Is it me, or do you use a rather strange fingering for the D chord?
So... Jack & Diane started on the Crazy Train
Pretty much 😃🎸
My Dad drove the tour bus for him for a while, he sad he was an asshole.
I've heard he's pretty tough so deal with. I guess 20 top singles and 13 Grammy nominations can go to one's head. 🤷
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker yeah, when my Dad drove for him he had just dropped the “Cougar” from John Cougar Meloncamp. He said he got on the bus (after the show) ran his fingers through his hair and said ..Damn I star. First meeting. And was an asshat the whole tour.
My Dad drove for a LOT of them, I got to meet a lot of them, he was a dick. So was Motley Crue, Def Leppard was Awesome… Billy Idol was too!! Steve Steven’s was as cool as you could ask for!!!
Are you also going to show us how to get pissy with the audience over politics and walk off the stage mid-show like JCM does when his ass isn't being kissed?
His music makes my ear hurt now.
I don't pay attention to that stuff. I'm not really sure what he does to be honest.
i wouldn't learn anything from Mellencamp
Why do you say that?
He is quite the douche
Love his music though
John is a woke idiot who walked off stage just a few weeks ago because his giant ego took over.
He just recently attacked his fans and walked off stage! @@ianhoyle8459
Love your channel marty but he’s a disgrace
I know nothing about the dude. I just enjoy the tunes when I hear them 🤷🎸🤟🏻
