Thank you, exactly what I was gonna say. Especially after he said feels fun to win and fun to lose. One thing I did notice was that while I could solo queue titanfall 2 and get a lot of kills/points and win, you sort of need a team in the finals in order to win.

to add to your problem with flicking.. it was discovered that guns shot in the middle of your screen and not where ever the crosshair/sights were on your gun :D
Which isn't inherently a huge problem, but the game shadowbans for using a software overlay. So I may consider a monitor with a crosshair overlay when I upgrade.
One thing you can also do is use a marker and put a small dot on the center of your monitor. I used to do this in CSS back in the day because on certain spots of bright maps I wouldn't be able to see my crosshair to well, so a little dot helped me keep track of it. Just make sure you can clean it off easy, which most markers you can. @@illegitimate0
few point when i played the beta that no recent game has hit: 1. The gameplay loop isn't just another knock off BR but a new arena 3 way that retains the intense battle in a open map. 2. Destruction isn't just a gimmick, it actually works, and its actually big part of the strategy to incentivize player to engage with the mechanic. if this was done by any other company its just gonna be a few set houses that you can blow up but rest of the building is just there for show. 3. being well optimized and still looks good, not many games really respect the amount of space you have on you PC nowadays.
the movement in the game feels very consistent yet not limited. playing light with the hook feels very rewarding to use movement to your advantage but it doesnt always give you an advantage which feels very nice when its used against you. as well as the perfectly consistent recoil is quite nice as you can build consistency, keeps the games skill ceiling high without hurting it. cant wait to play again
The recoil pattern im csgo is to make spraying more difficult so that bursts are more rewarded. There are other more hard reasons to bursts but even with them it's often better to spray. Having a soft punish unless youre really good is a good way to keep spraying all day to a minimal amd it really isn't hard to control with some practice. It's certainly not random.
Also to add, I think The Finals is very “chaotic”, and often times the weaker team can still win fights and games. But it never really felt like your wins are handed to you because of “randomness”. Instead, when you win a big fight, it feels like you intentionally committed into a gamble and it payed off. As a result, winning felt really really fun. Altho you almost always need some luck here or there for things to work, whenever something goes right, you can always pinpoint a decision or two you made that got you the victory.
08:10 didn't expect a fire breakdown and explanation about where it could improve but that segment won me over. Great video, definitely plan to check out the game and some more of the channel!
I love the movment the light class has especially with the grapple. Being able to jump out of a window juat to grapple the building and swing around to go into another window to outplay another team is so fun
beautiful video, it feels so good when someone of your skill can voice the community's concerns properly and with evidence. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this!
I actually like how the recoil plays in the game. It makes it actually challenging to use and master the gun rather than M1+drag mouse down. It keeps guns from looking like laser beams. This keeps fights engaging and keeps a firefight from being who got the jump on the other guy. Recoil is supposed to be a challenge, not an inconvenience. I
Imo the delay is important to keep instead. The ability to use it as part of the game balance is important, it also contributes to immersion by giving the player the feeling they need time to move their finger on the trigger and for the weapon's mechanism to fire, which is great. Especially when there are weapons that intentionally have more marked delays.
3:30 I just wanna say this is one of the smoothest apex clips I've seen where the player seemingly has ZERO recoil even on the fucking havoc on turbocharger GJ man
about the gunplay and the input lag, there were also some discoveries proving that the center of the crosshair is not where you actual bullets go. The bullets go exactly in the center of the screen so people have been using center screen dot overlays to hit shots more accurately. Yeah... I don't know how I feel about that but the game is so much fun either way
The feels fun to win and lose thing is huge as games like apex feel great to win but awful to lose whereas the finals manages to make losing feel alright
i honestly love apex movement it feels like no other game really its extremely skill dependent aswell things like mantle jumps are pretty hard to learn and is really fun but i still respect the attempt from finals here still fun also
the reason that shots don't hit isn't because of input lag, it's because of a problem with the finals' shooting. The bullets always travel from the center of the screen, even if the crosshairs are pointing somewhere else
i think you are right with every point except for the recoil. i think its actually good for a game like this since for the longer ttk its much more fun to have a full spray than to know that you are just going to laser the guys you are aiming at anyway. im a good fps player and i think its a cool mechanic because its a chance for lower skill players to have a chance too.
well problem is that i think a lot of the horizontal recoil is visual so if anything it makes lower skill players who dont really know or recognize that to have more difficulty using the guns. the m60 for example. i didnt test the pattern but i can see it def has a lot of visual recoil so to me the lewis guns feels so much better to use
@@Sinsanatis well it comes down to personal preference then I guess. what i really try to say with that is that the firefights get dragged out even longer so maybe the enemy you are aiming for.. which might be a worse player than you, might still make it to cover and the gun fight is longer than if you have COD laser guns. so maybe while you are on the way to finish the low HP Player off... you yourself get caught off guard and might benefit from the same that the other player before you benefitted from. so for me its all around a good choice. also its not like it is in csgo where your bullets go somewhere entirely diffrent than your crosshair or scope, its just that the scope bounces around so you will still always know where your bullets are going..its just that its harder to track an enemy which for a game that has determenistic movement is actually a good thing imo because you already know where they are going so having a bit of deviation in recoil makes up for that. overall i think it just makes for a better game experience that is very fitting for that title.
@@haidora9321 i feel like the opposite is usually the common case. if the ttk is already long, making it artificially longer with crazy recoil or spread makes things frustrating. its something that dirty bomb, rip, made feel very good. the ttk was longer in that game, but the guns were really accurate and low recoil and were mainly meant to be used with hipfire so the focus comes down to ur raw aiming skill and movement. in a much much more casual and arcadey game, having sporadic recoil and spread would make more sense. or in lower ttk games. since it can be frustrating to constantly have ur target end up being like only 5% hp left which was what was happening to me a lot in the finals at first. but pretty much the general consensus is gona be against worse accuracy especially in something competitive and high ttk. it also increases the skill gap a lot more since good players that can aim well and play well will dominate when worse players end up having a lot more trouble. so in turn those who arent as good wouldnt be able to look at it as purely that their aim isnt up to par
@@Sinsanatis well but eversthing else that "the finals" does cancels out the usual. since 3rd party and respawning is a thing its not so detremental and like i said before can lead to cool gameplay moments. i think it just boils down to personal preferences so we can write like 3 more whole articles and our view wouldnt change. for me its a welcome addition since it gives a chance to lower skill players (at least the way I see it) and it makes for a higher skill ceiling which in my opinion is also always good. dont even feel the need to answer anymore i think we wont settle this. seems like you got your opinion and i got mine. im just happy we have a healthy discussion without going for each others throat which is a welcome change in these days. cheers mate.
the delay you mention made me realized why am i missing my shots in the finals. i thought the shakiness of the camera for the revolver what makes my aim worse, which is already bad to begin with but i still managed to hit my shots with wingman in apex
Maybe it's a hot take but I'd rather have a deterministic recoil pattern than a seed-based one. It's on you completely to learn the guns. Nothing stops you from taking the time in a private match till you know each one, giving you an edge. RNG-based recoils you never know if horizontal will screw you when going for a small target like a head. I'd also rather have no recoil at all vs. RNG-based ones.
100%. Gives high skill an advantage, it isn't random, and it still means that beams must be consciously controlled (without which, it would feel too easy in this game with its medium-speed movement and large hitboxes).
recoil is already deterministic, but I strongly suspect accuracy is a major factor here. Bloom. Shots completely on target that do not land. some guns, like the revolver, actually dont have perfect accuracy even on the first shot.
This game is so fun, the only shooter since Fortnite and siege to gain my attention. I haven’t tried ranked yet but I can’t wait to possibly grind it and add it to my rotation of fun games to play, like you said it doesn’t get too tilting and is fairly balanced
one other thing i found out with The Finals is the crosshair or the sights arent where you are aiming or where you will hit but its the center of the screen that is where your shots will land which explains alot of the hit registration issues or your shots not lining up or not being able to flick with the sniper unless you do the classic dot in the center of the screen or use a crosshair
I think R6Siege has the exact recoil you describe, and i heavily disagree, having a more difficult but less random pattern is better, i DID learn all of the patterns in CS, it wasn't that hard after practice, and people DO learn full patterns of guns and spray very well and are able to land all of the shots. People hate on random spread/recoil patterns for a reason
The Finals playercount tanked on day 2, mostly due to the horrible networking issues on beta launch. This game will definitely die off quickly if it cant have a clean smooth launch with solid post launch content updates regularly
It gives that tf2 feel. So many random things and situations where you can’t help but laugh at the absurdity, things like nuking or grappling to throwables is so tf2, and I love that energy coming back to gaming

Omg, yes, even with all the chaos and buildings falling around me, I could actually SEE where people were to shoot them because of those outlines but I'd love to be able to change the colors eventually! I did notice the input lag but what's worse is the mismatch with where the shots are actually going and where your crosshair is so hopefully the devs are looking at community input because that was a pretty big deal on the reddit post I saw. I had to bust out the monitor's own crosshair for the playtest after noticing, which hopefully wouldn't get someone banned...

New to the channel and Love the vid. I can’t wait for this game. IMO tho, I really like that the recoil is in older style of cs etc. As newer recoil style you mentioned(pull down and pray), may have the same effect in a different form of “where are my bullets going.” Games like valorant and rust where the time of death is fast and the recoil is like you mentioned, the game can feels very rng to me, inturn it hurts the competitive aspects as it takes time to learn the recoil(newer rust gun mechanics). I understand people play games casually and sometimes can’t put the time in, but that why they added machine guns/easygoing recoil weapons and flipping sword lolz. Don’t take my rant to serious, all in love.
the input delay, i havent really tested it and u only showed the revolver so based on that it might be on purpose. since revolvers are double action. its much more noticeable in like cod for example. using the revolvers in mw19 was always a bit of a challenge as there was a pretty noticeable double action delay. and the flicking, others have already mentioned but the whole thing with shots coming out from the middle of the screen and not the actual sights of the gun. so lots of ppl were opting to use crosshair overlays. i tried it out and it helped significantly for me. thats something they def need to address. leading in to recoil, i only tested the ak and scar a little, but the patterns arent too bad iirc. just that theres a lot of visual horizontal recoil. for the ak especially. idk how much of it is visual for the m60 but thats the main reason i cant use it for shit. lewis gun just feels sooo much better for me. also i found it strange that u chose tdm as an analogy to bank it when cod has a gamemode literally exactly like it. i forget the name, but even aside from that specific mode, kill confirmed would be the better analogy for bank it. the regular cashout game mode id call like a mix of ctf and koth
True, the last game in Closed Beta 2 was us (bronze 4 and sliver 1) against diamond top 200 players. We still won by like 1k, that was SOOO intense, we were not mechanically skilled as them, but we beat them with strategy and a bit of luck. I got to silver because of that game, could not get back in the game since the servers had been shut down expect for the remaining matches. But I reached silver because of that game. Thanks, audun and FelixAb, I will never forget you guys.
Cant wait for the playerbase to get good at the game which will result in a new cycle of youtube videos titled "How THE FINALS fell to the shooter curse..."
i wonder if that slight delay on the shots was due to no OCE servers and all the server side calculations the finals has. doesn't seem likely though. also io personally really like recoil patterns, as its something that can be mastered with practice, like old rust and you feel like you need to learn how to play each gun
I'm so tired of Battle Royales, as someone who pretty much exclusively plays Apex Legends and Counterstrike as their main FPS games, The Finals feels like the opposite of a Battle Royale and I absolutely love it. The ranked "Tournaments" gamemode was also done absolutely fantastically, it was so cool to see the top 2 from other matches get into your matches and the playstyle of everyone had to adjust to compensate, while having the other top players from YOUR match as pretty much rivals bc they're the only ones who truly know your team's playstyle, it is just so masterfully done.
hey i have noticed something about the shooting, the movement sway you see while moving is a placebo, so while your sight is moving, your barrel is still pointed in the same direction meaning you will miss your shot if you line up your sight with the target
I just want to input, sorry I'm late, but the finals had a (possibly a feature) thing where the weapons crosshairs didn't actually line up with your gun cursor. If you install a custom cursor mod you'd notice that the ironsights sway and so do the scopes, but the bullets still come dead out of the middle of the screen. Once me and a mate discovered this we stomped. That's why flicking doesn't work too great, not that there's input lag or that your missing, the game is just different
I recommend you change the recording framerate of OBS in the test to get more precise data, 120 fps or even higher 360 to match your refresh rate during testing.

I feel like the game's strongest quality is that it avoids having rigid metas due to the sheer amount of variables at play at any given time. I ran a tournament with some mediums and we got all the way to the final round using good positioning and traps, only to get absolutely decked by a single guy constantly rushing us with a sword, which worked because we weren't prepared for it. It goes to show that any playstyle is viable as long as you can leverage your strengths. TL;DR: Less metas because of all the options, anything can potentially work. Very good game.
I have 62 hours in the game, mostly ranked (even mix of solo, duo, & trio) and worked my way up to Gold 3 (made the top 10k leaderboard). I can vouch that this game is VERY FUN playing ranked, and the tournament bracket style is fantastic, at both lower and higher levels of play. They've managed to capture a level of "it's just fun" in a way that's hard to describe. I see a lot of "pros" having complaints, and I can't vouch for Diamond level play, but that's the top 0.1% or less. I suppose that may effect how well it catches on in the eSports world, but for everyone else it's an absolute blast!
Was never a fan of battle royale modes because of the long setup time and format. Glad to see King of the Hill type gameplay making a comeback. I'd be thrilled if Capture the Flag comes back, too.
I have to agree on the point of most guns at least getting an option for a red dot or holo, i personally dislike ironsights quite a lot. Overall good video, i really like the finals a lot from when i tried the open beta with some friends
left to right recoil is a balancing mechanic if every gun was a laser with just vertical recoil then gunfights would occur at ranges and paces that the devs dont want.
Regarding flicking, I think the problem with the sniper comes from your character always firing shots from the center of your screen, but your sniper scope is shaking
there is another issue and that is that shots from wepons that does not have recoil like sniper or revolver alweys shoot from center of screen so youz can ignore your wepon sights because they are not guarantee that you will shoot there, so you can do what big majoriti of players do and have built in monitor crosshair or puting a small sticker on center of your screen and than you will start landing your flicks
3:48 i swear this is what i have always felt. If you overtweak games they get boring, becuase weird quirks and bugs in the way you do things are what truly catch peoples intrest. Think how titanfall 2 has so many titans that have abilities than can be overpowered when in the right hands. The finals replicates that with polished gameplay on how it functions. Similarly, look at early fortnites abundance of tech items. All of those made it ridiculiusly fun as you never knew what one person was carrying. Both of those were fun becuase of those game design choices, and i think the Finals gets that.
Love the vid, however I just want to point out around 5:45 you say the movement is "slow and rigid". However, I'm seeing that you are featuring clips of mainly the heavy and medium classes, and I wanted to say, the movement from the light class (especially with grappling hook and less so with dash) feels extremely fast and fun!
I discovered a super jump during the time I was playing where when I was mantling on an object jumping before or right as you hit the edge would launch kind of like apex. I couldn't replicate it every time though
Its interesting to me that TTK seems to have an inverse effect on RPGs. World of Warcraft had a problem for a while where TTK was really long and abilities had less impact. So clever use of abilities had less effect on fights. And because abilities weren't aimed, as long as you know and can perform a simple rotation, players were perfectly balanced regardless of skill. Higher TTK in an RPG *reduces* the effects of player skill.
You basically described the reasons it's popular, but considered them negatives. Flick shots are harder, so tracking is rewarded more, which is something most players are better at than flicks. Getting flicked feels bad, being tracked is less irritating.
"recoil sucks because its hard to do. make easier" very out of place point in an otherwise good video. You mention the long TTK and skill expression, but fail to wrap your point into the latter, where the recoil patterns hold some of that skill expression. Like you said, "throwing off your aim at (random) times," wouldn't that further increase the perceived TTK? with that same logic applied to the TTK point, wouldn't you want to also increase weapon damage so easier to kill?
If there gonna stick with iron I'd still like to see them keep the tip of the iron sight where the bullets are going. at the moment the iron sight itself bounces around the center of the screen even though the bullets due originate from screen center. I also think heavy has arguably the least weaknesses. Med kinda has no real destruction options, light has a little bit with the c-4 and heavy has a lot more. heavies also can compensate for there lack of a ranged option with there RPG in cases where they pick say the hammer or the flamethrower or the shotgun. ttk is a bit all over the place too. Overall a good game though and the single weapon limit even if it through me off at first does actually makef for some interesting fights
The reason i dont mind losing on the finals is the favt that to my feel there is no sbmm. I can wreak havoc one game and stomp the other, and the risk reward is something u know before getting into the fight. Also sledgehammer heavy funny
Love the video, although in the part where he describes the movement being rigid was just funny to me because my ass zooms across the map at mach 10 with evasive dashes on light. I see what he means tho for heavy and medium, thats why my preference generally is light.
this is actually the first FPS game ever that managed to hook me into playing it more, although I am really hoping that if this game does get an official release that it won't become a pixel gun 3D situation with corporate greed, again...
Good video. Though I wouldn’t call the movement restricted. I’d go as far to say light builds border on movement shooter levels of maneuverability. Atleast I was able to juke enemies through sliding, hopping and jumping through windows.
Love your take about the movement mecs. I am personally of the opinion that the movement does feel too restrictive but the map design clearly isn't made for apex like movement, I feel like there is and should be a happy middle somewhere, my biggest "ick" with the movement has to be the mantles, they feel so slow and really breaks the flow of my movement. lastly as a "flicker" myself i can really notice the lag between the click and the weapon firing and i HATE it, it's the only thing about the game that is bad enough to me that it makes it anoying/unfunny at times PS: i also think the strengh of a game and what makes it good is when it comes out and how it's able to place itself on the market, in a time where people need that kind of game it's a smart move to make that kind of game, kinda like how amongus got popular overnight because people needed some fun group game for the lockdown, the game might not have help any major value for people before that
As someone who loves Titanfall, Siege, Due Process and MilSim. I don't like Apex because it feels like a highly restricted Apex that has enough of the watered down Titanfall mechanics to make it just feel sweaty without the cocaine rush.... The Finals feels technical, but creative. You can throw the meta out the window and do something silly that might occasionally work, but the loadouts feel pretty static. Which that seems like a bad thing, but it might not be with further tweaks. I also for year wanted subtle, but patterned RNG offsets on guns in Rust, which every tweener cried about ruining the skill ceiling. Yet when they did exactly that, guns had their unique firing personalities, but suddenly you had actual gunfighting in motion instead of just "who grinded their pattern trainer for more hours"/ getting lasered with iron sights at 200m. So yeah, The Finals has killer potential and I'm even okay if they add in another playtest round to make adjustments, although some of these guys like Nate already have 6k hours in the testing branches. Which tells me the game is more stable in it's meta than it seems.
this game is the embodiment of giving the dumb strat a go, it might just work because there's so much variability, strategy and fun to be had that the chance of it working is never zero. its not a rock paper scissor, its that, but with a thousand different options, there's always a way to counter, flank and surprise an enemy, no matter the situation

Get lost.
@@Funkysly2 Only valid point here is the cheating "majority", it's very few players compared to the total numbers that are playing, and it's what comes with competitive free games.
@@Funkysly2 i bet your fun at parties
to add to your problem with flicking.. it was discovered that guns shot in the middle of your screen and not where ever the crosshair/sights were on your gun :D
Which isn't inherently a huge problem, but the game shadowbans for using a software overlay. So I may consider a monitor with a crosshair overlay when I upgrade.
at least the mouse input isn't bugged for a change.
@@illegitimate0just use a marker bro
As soon as I discovered this, i finally had a use for those stupid crosshair overlays that come with the monitor.
few point when i played the beta that no recent game has hit:
This the game where you wouldn't quite mind to lose and seeing your teammate doing stupid things for no reason
Was it just me or did the guns feel worse this time than last beta?
beautiful video, it feels so good when someone of your skill can voice the community's concerns properly and with evidence.
🧊 solid take
It shouldn't be a hassle to control tho
@@TheBrickSquad11 then go to COD
Yeah... I don't know how I feel about that but the game is so much fun either way
It's really good to see your awesome contents mate!
Bro, I just made this comment.😂 straight facts tho
well problem is that i think a lot of the horizontal recoil is visual so if anything it makes lower skill players who dont really know or recognize that to have more difficulty using the guns. the m60 for example. i didnt test the pattern but i can see it def has a lot of visual recoil so to me the lewis guns feels so much better to use
Don't know this guy but he knows how to beam
im praying this game continues on this freight train ride to stardom, it genuinely brought back the feeling i got from r6 siege in 2017
It's because it's the most TF2 game out their. People talk about battlefield, cod, fortnite, and apex... No. It's most like TF2.
the delay you mention made me realized why am i missing my shots in the finals. i thought the shakiness of the camera for the revolver what makes my aim worse, which is already bad to begin with but i still managed to hit my shots with wingman in apex
In bf4 there was a similar delay on the revolvers and since the devs are former battlefield devs I think that might have been intentional.
@@illegitimate0 yeah, I think this game has really good game design overall (besides a couple of outliers like the Stun Gun)
recoil is already deterministic, but I strongly suspect accuracy is a major factor here. Bloom. Shots completely on target that do not land. some guns, like the revolver, actually dont have perfect accuracy even on the first shot.
@@Masoch1st Hey, Maso! There's smth odd going on because tracers and decals and many guns barely have bloom. Could be a bug.
@@Masoch1st Based on my practice range trials, the recoil on auto weapons was pretty consistent but not deterministic.
This is one of those games where if you try hard and still lose you feel like you won anyways because almost every match involves a funny moment
People hate on random spread/recoil patterns for a reason
movement and the way the player interacts with their weapon is straight out of BF1 and it looks awesome
is it just me or anyone else craving this game to finally release, haven't felt this level of enjoyment playing game in years.
Fantastic analysis. Great to see smart gaming content like this.
Dude, definitely. I've been point blank ADS with the revolver completely on target and no hit registered.
He does know you can turn off that blur in the sniper scope right?
The Finals playercount tanked on day 2, mostly due to the horrible networking issues on beta launch. This game will definitely die off quickly if it cant have a clean smooth launch with solid post launch content updates regularly
It gives that tf2 feel. So many random things and situations where you can’t help but laugh at the absurdity, things like nuking or grappling to throwables is so tf2, and I love that energy coming back to gaming
finding this video is like finding a Zy game review out of nowhere, it was actually insane hearing a gaming youtuber from the recommendeds tab to know what the hell they're talking about and be actually informative instead of putting on an over-the-top voice to read out a soulless and over-simplified bucketlist of what goes on in the game.
Great video, I really hope that this game will stay casual-friendly in the future
You could change the colors in the beta.
@@Mayorofsexytown1303 aw what? I missed that then, I was too busy trying to make a nicer crosshair and failing, I'll be sure to look for it on release then
@@CasioSilver I believe it was in the color blind settings but I'm not sure.
@@CasioSilver It was in the settings, one of the first things in the menu. "Use team colors" or something like that. Not sure why that option was off by default.
@@Lorhinthat doesn’t let you change the teams color, it just determines weather you see the other teams as different colors like purple or orange, or if you just see all teams other than yours as red
I think the delayed fire should stay for the revolver. It'll be a nice balancing mechanic as the hammer introduces a delay.
"Third party more, if you want that victory royale." - Sun Tzu
Really enjoyed this breakdown. Thanks.
hey i have noticed something about the shooting, the movement sway you see while moving is a placebo, so while your sight is moving, your barrel is still pointed in the same direction meaning you will miss your shot if you line up your sight with the target
That's why flicking doesn't work too great, not that there's input lag or that your missing, the game is just different
i like everything you explain and makes sense
!!
I recommend you change the recording framerate of OBS in the test to get more precise data, 120 fps or even higher 360 to match your refresh rate during testing.
wont change anything he can only upload it at 60
@@SoWhom We don't have to see it at 120fps, struth only has to measure the numbers, and by recording the video at 120fps he gets more updates and more information to go based off of. Though now since the playtest is over he can't do that anymore.
@@SoWhom uploading at 60 has nothing to do with it. more fps=more information. especially when it comes to slowing things down. hence popular over 1k fps slomo videos on yt
just learn the recoil patters, they are not as hard as in csgo and that is still manageable
I swear this man just never misses with these video concepts, love this channel
with the Finals out and Ready or Not ready to come out its going to be a great year
I feel like the game's strongest quality is that it avoids having rigid metas due to the sheer amount of variables at play at any given time.
I'm watching this video and I'm amazed how cracked you're with the revolver
I have 62 hours in the game, mostly ranked (even mix of solo, duo, & trio) and worked my way up to Gold 3 (made the top 10k leaderboard). I can vouch that this game is VERY FUN playing ranked, and the tournament bracket style is fantastic, at both lower and higher levels of play. They've managed to capture a level of "it's just fun" in a way that's hard to describe. I see a lot of "pros" having complaints, and I can't vouch for Diamond level play, but that's the top 0.1% or less. I suppose that may effect how well it catches on in the eSports world, but for everyone else it's an absolute blast!
the finals is the first game in a whole decade where i can just go deathmatching people instead of following game goals
Just love how game is about 2 days old and is reported as industry changing.
Give it some time, don't jump to conclusions.
I really agree with your takes on the recoil patterns. Overall great vid man
"Losing doesn't feel terrible" probably sums it up lol
left to right recoil is a balancing mechanic if every gun was a laser with just vertical recoil then gunfights would occur at ranges and paces that the devs dont want.
Regarding flicking, I think the problem with the sniper comes from your character always firing shots from the center of your screen, but your sniper scope is shaking
Can’t wait for the prequel “The Semi-Finals”
there is another issue and that is that shots from wepons that does not have recoil like sniper or revolver alweys shoot from center of screen so youz can ignore your wepon sights because they are not guarantee that you will shoot there, so you can do what big majoriti of players do and have built in monitor crosshair or puting a small sticker on center of your screen and than you will start landing your flicks
However, I'm seeing that you are featuring clips of mainly the heavy and medium classes, and I wanted to say, the movement from the light class (especially with grappling hook and less so with dash) feels extremely fast and fun!
what is the name of the tape you use to make your mice wider? plz i need to know
can u make a video about sensitivity randomizer
I'm excited to see how The Finals pans out. I want nothing less than a great game that forces competition and innovation for the space.
did they get some balance changes for the classes? heavies were so op at the time I played
Can't wait for full release
You basically described the reasons it's popular, but considered them negatives. Flick shots are harder, so tracking is rewarded more, which is something most players are better at than flicks. Getting flicked feels bad, being tracked is less irritating.
had a fcking blast playing the beta , sadge it ended too soon :( light melee build tazer+ grapling was so fun
"recoil sucks because its hard to do. make easier" very out of place point in an otherwise good video. You mention the long TTK and skill expression, but fail to wrap your point into the latter, where the recoil patterns hold some of that skill expression. Like you said, "throwing off your aim at (random) times," wouldn't that further increase the perceived TTK?
with that same logic applied to the TTK point, wouldn't you want to also increase weapon damage so easier to kill?
this was a really well made vid also this game looks so fun I wanna play it ahhh
Your analysis is insane, very Smart Man 😉
The reason i dont mind losing on the finals is the favt that to my feel there is no sbmm. I can wreak havoc one game and stomp the other, and the risk reward is something u know before getting into the fight. Also sledgehammer heavy funny
for me its a case of ''HOW THE FINALS CRASHES EVERY TIMES I OPEN IT''
Yo, you tried any cs2? and what sens do u run in tac shooters? cheers :)
Atleast I was able to juke enemies through sliding, hopping and jumping through windows.
the octane was moooovinnn, holy fk
Love your take about the movement mecs. I am personally of the opinion that the movement does feel too restrictive but the map design clearly isn't made for apex like movement, I feel like there is and should be a happy middle somewhere, my biggest "ick" with the movement has to be the mantles, they feel so slow and really breaks the flow of my movement.
lastly as a "flicker" myself i can really notice the lag between the click and the weapon firing and i HATE it, it's the only thing about the game that is bad enough to me that it makes it anoying/unfunny at times
PS: i also think the strengh of a game and what makes it good is when it comes out and how it's able to place itself on the market, in a time where people need that kind of game it's a smart move to make that kind of game, kinda like how amongus got popular overnight because people needed some fun group game for the lockdown, the game might not have help any major value for people before that
As someone who loves Titanfall, Siege, Due Process and MilSim.
Good analysis!
this game is the embodiment of giving the dumb strat a go, it might just work
because there's so much variability, strategy and fun to be had that the chance of it working is never zero. its not a rock paper scissor, its that, but with a thousand different options, there's always a way to counter, flank and surprise an enemy, no matter the situation
