Yes! Also making it look so effortless. It is not as easy as you could think to make yarn behive like this and make this dress without all strands getting tangled.
Love a designer that gives actual quality craft to their designs, while still giving that runway pizazz. The fringe theme really works to tie the collection together even with the different materials
that skirt moves like magic, the way it glides across the floor is perfection. I can't imagine anyone wearing it out and about but watching it on the runway is gorgeous
Right? Especially on the dress. It still reads as traditional ballgown from the front, and then on the turn the hoop goes with the forces and makes itself known. Anyone who has tried to move quickly with lots of fabric around the legs knows the struggles. I was an early 2000s goth. Been there... 😅 The ability to move quickly and effortlessly while keeping the silhouette is pretty genius, ngl.
I love the detailed information you give, so much more than "I like this, I don't love that" which you get from other channels. Well done and thank you 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
So my general thoughts about haute couture are that sometimes it feels like they focus more on an avantgarde theme than the actual garmets design and construction. This collection is equal parts quirky and so impressive from a textile and patterning perspective. This is creative and interesting without being "thoughtlessly provocative" like I feel about some haute couture collections. I think the slogan fuck cool give me craft speaks to that perfectly. This was so well done! ❤
You can't be considered 'Haute Couture' if you don't combine all the elements you listed. That's why that distinction is reserved for only a handful of designers (there are only *10* design houses that carry that title, plus 4 invited designers who are given permission to showcase based on a committee agreement). So the construction, craft AND the messaging is part of that marking and it's a very strick standard inclusive of other requirements. Maybe you're mistaking high end luxury designers who present avant garde designs as distraction and noise marketing in lieu of actual craft? It's not the same thing.
@@SaffariRose you could be right, Im no expert but Ive seen things that are being presented as or called haute couture that I just dont think hit the mark. But yah a lot of designer shows have nonsense masqueraded as fashion.
As a fiber person who has worked with cassette tape, love it. Though it is a material that you really shouldn't be spending prolonged time in contact with. And there's something about breathing around it while it's being worked with. Careful out there, kids.
The jacket with the uneven woven edges is beautiful, and overall the movement of these pieces is gorgeous! Super smart design! Honestly, I've seen so much haute couture/runway fashion these days that is absolute garbage that the designer sells like the emperor's new clothes to keep his name out there and it's disgusting. Art is hit and miss, and if you aren't working a continuous theme or have some sort of tie in from previous years, building on your successes and failures, then the designer is forgettable. I'm not saying that a logo pattern should be printed on your bags (we know the ones), but keep some elements or style flowing through the line. (Pun not intended) I love this, and the demo is too cool. Loom weaving is amazing to watch.
this is some of my favorite runway work that i would genuinely wear on the street tomorrow (not necessarily the actual huge skirts lol but most of the other pieces for sure)
I ❤ some of those ❤ You know how lots of runway fashion you have to wait till some of it is made for retail well his stuff is ready to wear right away ❤ I love it
"F*ck cool, give me craft" should be an anthem by now, I'm waiting.
I hate to say it but all I can hear in the back of my head is “don’t cry, CRAFT” I will never escape
@@JunoisverysleepyOmigosh actually! XD
Put on a t-shirt ❤
@@Junoisverysleepy noo that's what i was abt to say 😭
I'd like a short that says it
The audio at the end is a bit messed up

The giant hoop cape IS brilliant! It's almost an illusion, the naked legs can just be peeked as they appear and disappear. Stunning.
HAHAHAHAHAHA NO. ITS SHIT.

The moment he got possessed by the end of the video
I know 😂😂😂
that skirt moves like magic, the way it glides across the floor is perfection.

It moves like early-mid 2000s computer animations
Me. I will wear it out. I will wear it all over. You'll have to pry it off my like a 4-year-old in a princess dress
Runway isn't supposed to be out in the world, it's just supposed to be artistic

Now this is fuckn awsome. It’s ware able and also looks EXSPENCIVE yet beautiful and chill.
I like to imagine one day he was making something and just said “F*ck it, I’m not finishing this.” and then made that into a style choice 😂
It’s a DESIGN DECISION 😂 every former fashion student gets chills from this phrase
The fringe speaks to the wiccan in me so much. Hanging, big, flowy, oversized everything is an awesome kind style!
Wow thank you for showing us a new designer and his use of unconventional fabrics saving the planet one step at a time ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s nice to see something made with thought and craft I really like it!!
"fuck cool give me craft" made me say YES out loud, I love it! This collection is so fun!
I am lovin' these looks! The movement and colors are AWESOME 🎉

Some may say he's not just a "cool" influencer, his work is a craft as he puts so much passion into his knowledge and interpretation of fashion.
@@wildearthling he really does ❤ it's amazing to experience

Yes!!!
I love this. Its really embracing the art
The fabric choices are amazing. Not completely on board with the hats but fringe for everyone!
I was today years old when I became obsessed with a designer. Absolutely brilliant. The fluidity In the movement of the pieces is almost mesmerizing.

Omg the coat after the cool/craft shirt is the most gorgeous thing ever

I love how the hoop cape and gown just glide along the floor, it’s magical.
Waaaaaw thank you Luke for educating us!!!
This is ART
This might actually be the first runway model look that I've unironically liked
Very astute of you . The loose fibres does make a beautiful sight. And the use of a repurposed material is 👍☺️💞
Wow! This looks so original. Very impressive.
I love this collection!
gorgeous, new word in fashion, and fabric industry
Oh, that looks phenomenal.
This actually helps me understand this kind of fashion as art vs clothrs

I am in L❤VE with EVERYTHING that I just saw. I watched this 10x. Here I go down a rabbit -hole to find out more about this designer, pffft
So creative! I especially like the metallic boucle made with cassette tapes.
Both hoop skirts were amazing! Wow!
The art of looming is a dying tradition. Thanks to that designer for bringing it back
Ok now this is one collection I would 100% wear. LOVE the fringe and boucle styles, so gorgeous
I love this. It’s distinctive yet translates to so many different garments. Also reminds me of Missoni.
They actually look cool
That dress at the end could work at the Dune 2 premiere. 😅
None of these are a style I'd ever wear but this collection is honestly really cool!
That coats were so amazing 🤩
This is absolutely gorgeous. Probably the best collection I have seen. The only draw back is that washing fringe is a headache.
These are beautiful.
I need one of those hoop skirts/dresses/tents so people respect my personal space. Also cuz they’re gorgeous.
They're gorgeous omg
This artist slays!
The detailed quilted jacket is gorgeous
GIIIIIIMMMMMEEEEE dat unfinished fringe trench coat!!!!! 😍😍😍
I took a weaving class that almost made me cry so I love this lmao
That's actually amazing!!
That guy was walking so fast 😂
That first one is definitely my fav
OMG!!! That's my friend on the runway!!!!!! 😱😱🔥🎉🎉
How cool!! Which one?!
The hoop skirt, also known as "Stay out of my personal space"
Now this is so inspiring. I'm loving this style
This is quite pretty! It’s more like a work of art than a crazy piece of clothing
reminds me of something fancy i could wear going out in Nashville. love it
Ngl, i love his work
Benjamin understands fashion so well.
People thinking these shows are about clothing miss the point. That’s secondary to the art. And I honestly would wear some of this though
Holy shit I've never loved a designer so much so fast, woven designs are so impressive to me
The coat❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I IMMEDIATELY thought of Kenneth Ize ... Although that jacquard looks intriguing 🤔
In a word stunning
Its been a while since I've seen really cute high fashion. I love the jacket sets.
Those hats are so cool too
Omg the first COAT 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

One of the few "fashion walk" fashion that looks awesome!
That calf length coat is to die for!
So innovative!! Love it!!
I dont speak fashion but i love how all these looks
Especially the floral look on the 5th model GORGEOUS❤❤❤
This is brilliant. I can think of several couturiers who saw this and just gnawed a hole in their cheeks.
