I've builded 2 of these Gripen. My first was the D-version. It was horrible 😅 after 1 year in to this hobby i bought this kit and finished it quite fast (easy kit to build and color scheme). About 4 months after, my girlfriend mooved our cabin, and my book of Zlatan fell over it and killed it 😔 So i will build a gripen a 3rd time 😅 Imo, revell makes the best JAS 39 in 1/72 scale.

Sorry to hear about the loss of an aircraft, things like that happens unfortunately.... A bit of irony that Zlatan (the Swedish football player I assume) killed it :D :D
But the best thing about building a kit again is that it's possible to improve it ;)

Good unboxing, the Grippen came out very nice especially for a return to the hobby build.

That's a nice looking Gripen, congrats! You may remember that under one of your Viggen videos I mentioned I have a itch for a Draken that needs scratching. Well... I'm currently working on a Draken... sort of. I'm really looking after Hasegawa Draken (either 1/72 or even 1/48) but I cannot find any of them in my usual shop at this time. So I went with the only option I had at the moment and got a really old Draken kit (not sure who was the original manufacutrer, as it was re-released and re-released by multiple companies in Poland across the decades now). It is really basic, plainly wrong in some details, lacks interior of any sort, parts don't fit all that well and it has raised panel lines. Furthermore, it has unusable decals (I had previous experiences with that manufacturer). Bottom line is whatever I can put together out of that kit will only really resemble the Draken, so I decided to go completely wild with it and use whatever leftover decals and paints I have lying around. So, as much as this may sound like sacrilage, currently it shapes up to something like: What if US Navy had used Drakens?
I'm still checking up daily on Hasegawa and hope it will restock soon so I can build a proper Draken.
Oh and one more thing. There is no Czechoslovakia anymore, there is Czech Republic (and Slovakia) :)

Thanks, it's always fun to make What-If's, especially if there is a storyline behind it. Best of luck finding a Draken at a good price - hope you get sorted ;)
My mental map of the Balkan area haven't changed since the Cold War :D Thanks for pointing that out!

@@KillBoxScalemodelling Honestly, price isn't the real problem here. Whatever I can find first, 1/72 or 1/48, I will go for :D Even though I don't really have enough space for 1/48.

@@KillBoxScalemodelling Wow, that price is really something. I mean: www.mojehobby.pl/products/SAAB-J-35F-Draken.html
Essentially half the price. But the 1/48 one is priced really closely between the two shops.
Next week I'll get my paycheck and I will see :D

Yeah, that price is close to "Swedish prices".... :D I think that I paid 20€ for mine
I fully agree that the price for the 1/72 is close to the 1/48.... But I like the 1/72 scale since I don't have so much room in my display cabinet.
Hope you get a big check next week :D
