  • Glacier National Park has been one of our favorite places to visit for years, and this year we were super excited to try our hand at wildlife photography there! We visited our favorite places like Avalanche Lake and Virginia Falls and explored Many Glacier for the first time where we found ourselves amongst grizzly bears, moose, sandhill cranes, and beautiful scenery. We also were lucky enough to find some Bighorn Sheep to photograph!

    Nicely presented! I would recommend a polarizer at 2:08 of your video.

      Thank you! Do you mean to cut the reflections on the river shots?

      @@kaydeandkatrina Hello. Specifically, I am referring to the lake shot starting 2 minutes and 5 seconds into your video. You will notice that the differentiation between the mountains and the sky is limited, i.e., hazy. A polarizer would "pop" the sky and give you definition of the mountains and lake. I'll give you that the sky is bald; however, it could and would be a much better blue with a polarizer. I really like this guy. Be SURE and watch all of it. ruclips.net/video/AbuynZ_BhUI/видео.html

      Just watched that video and learned a lot. Thank you for sharing that! We've been using a VND for a while in order to keep a good shutter speed, but that's about the depth of my knowledge of filters. Time to go do some research!

    • @tdsmith
      @tdsmith 4 месяца назад +1

      @@kaydeandkatrina With any luck, you'll keep learning until the day you die.
      With much of your work in Glacier, Yellowstone, and the Tetons, I would watch a few episodes of "Scary Bear Attacks." ruclips.net/video/ePplEEjgKRs/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/WGtrhatX8LA/видео.html. I also carry a 10mm Sig P320; however, you can also carry a Glock 20. Only carry a weapon if you have put at least two hundred rounds on a target, and BOTH OF YOU are completely familiar with the weapon and the ammo loads you should carry in bear country. When my wife and I hike in the above areas, we carry bear spray and a Sig P320. Any 10mm handgun is no joke, and you must practice with the weapon before you go into the bear country!

    • @kaydeandkatrina
      @kaydeandkatrina  4 месяца назад

      That's the goal!
      Thanks for the tips. We've been thinking about a 10mm, especially after photographing bears on Kodiak Island. It was pretty much the norm to carry up there!
