    Yeah, I need to do something. I had to make phone calls one sunny day here in Miami, FL around high noon. It got so hot in my Model Y the AC at full blast was not keeping the cabin cool enough. I had to drive around to find a parking spot under a tree. Thanks for the video.

    I haven’t had any problem with that in Florida. I have the same car , and if you just tint the windshield , driver and passenger windows with the ones with ceramic heat rejection is gonna be enough .

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  3 года назад

      Tinting the sunroof in a heat rejecting film can only further benefit the passengers in the vehicle, offers more protection from the harmful rays and absolutely will make a difference in keeping the vehicle much cooler while driving. But to each their own.
      If your setup works great for you thats awesome to hear! enjoy your Tesla those are nice rides! and thanks for showing interest in our video!

    Fact:
    I own 2 Tesla (X & S), I’m telling y’all to do NOT put tint on the SUNROOF, as it is already have very effective UV PROTECTION (and if those super hot temperature will be trap in it, then there’s a big possibility it will crack), as one of the known brand (XPEL) here in Austin already found out that only 3-4 BTU go pass that glass, period,
    The only glass y’all need to have a top of the line ceramic tint is the windshield (70.% - 80%), then 30% - 50% on all the windows glass, based on your state and what you’re comfortable with, especially on driving at night.
    Darker tint doesn’t mean it has better UV protection, as for years tint quality evolved that it doesn’t matter if it is light or very dark, as they have the same UV protection from sun.
    Please people, wake up!
    Most new Tesla owners has been duped by those tint shops who know nothing about it (or just taking advantage of those new Tesla owner).
    Have a great day to y’all!

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  Год назад +1

      Sure its possible the glass is good. Dont doubt it. But why not better? If 3-4 BTU can get through - why not 0? The sunroofs are massive. The more rejection the better! In the chicago area we dont get the insane heat like southern/western states do. In that regard we havent seen any glass breaking from tint. However not to say it couldnt be an issue in those climate areas. We still get plenty of customers saying they feel the heat coming through the stock glass/too much light coming in. So we cater to their needs. No taking advantage of anyone here!

      "Taking it to 0% is not good for the sunroof, as it does KEEP that HEAT rather THAN REJECT it".
      The reason they said they feel it, is because they TOUCH IT, but if they will just sit down and don't mind it, and have ALL glass (without the sunroof) tinted by the best tint in the market, the heat will be super low that they will not feel that much anymore.
      "HUMAN needs that BIT of HEAT", as for CENTURIES people lived for more than 100 years WITHOUT AIR-CON, TINT, etc............
      We are just so PAMPERED that we LIKE to SPOILED ourselves, that's making ourselves WEAK & DUMB in life, period.

      @@CliffordMiemban Thanks for the in depth input. I think if the customer wants a bit of heat they roll down the windows. Theres honestly no avoiding heat in its entirety even in the car (Metal panels get hot and radiate into the cabin etc.). However if the customer wants some added luxury to their expensive new tesla that is their decision to make. Im sure your opinions on it will help someone in hotter climates, however the downsides you stated dont apply in our region. We dont sell tint with a guarantee that the glass wont feel hot. But if the customer wants less BTU coming through the sunroof we can help with that. Thanks for stopping by!!

    Hi. Several local tint shops have refused to tint the roof and others will not go darker than 90%. They say if tinted the roof is much more likely to crack due to heat buildup in the glass. Can you comment on this? Thank you!!!

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  4 года назад +1

      In some very hot regions where it is often over 100 degrees we have heard of the sunroof cracking. Most ceramic films absorb heat which can heat the glass to the point of failure. 3M Crystalline actually refracts heat, scattering it in all different directions. We have never seen the sunroof issue in here in illinois, but depending on the region it might be best to listen to the people who may have had experience with this. Thanks for commenting!

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  2 года назад

      Depends on the film and how it manages the heat. Some absorb the heat which can make the glass itself hotter. Others can reflect or refract the heat. In any case the situation comes down to the climate you're in. If you have days that are consistently around 100 degrees or more with a heat absorbent film i can see how it can potentially become an issue. We have only heard of this issue but never seen this happen in the mid west with our climate. Hope this helps!

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  4 года назад +3

      The customer wanted the maximum amount of heat rejection and glare reduction so 3M Crystalline 20% was used, which is the darkest available shade in that line of film. 70% would be a good option if you wanted a more clear look without changing the darkness of the sunroof.

    This might sound like a strange question, but is it possible to REMOVE the factory tint on the roof so that it is clear? Just asking because I feel the factory tint is too dark.

    • @ztechwindowtint
      @ztechwindowtint  3 года назад +1

      This is a common question! The factory tint is actually stained glass so there is no way to remove it. Only way for it to be clear would be to replace it with clear glass - however i dont know if they make it. Hope this helps!

    • @ztechwindowtint

      Great question! This customer wanted the glare cut down significantly which is another story. The darker the glass the less light gets in. An added bonus is 3M Crystalline blocks 97% of infrared rays and 99.9% of UV rays. The Tesla glass does in fact have ir and uv inhibitors but not 100% protection. Add a film of this caliber and you essentially get 100% protection.

    I refuse to buy a Tesla with the pano roof without a shade that I can close, and it does not look like they have any plans to do that in my lifetime. Regardless of the tint, the sun is going to bake your head all the time while driving. That's just dumb on Tesla's part IMO. This video proves that there is a need for a shade. Tesla needs to man up and provide a shade. All that glass above looks great, but is not pleasant to deal with the sun all the time. How hard is that to figure out? Elon? Wazzup with dat?
