Honestly it works, the question is, will it last. I'll keep you posted!
EDIT: 11/8/2022 - When charging with USB-C input using a PD charger the max wattage is 10W. So it will take about 30 minutes to charge using the USB-C cable.
    Edit: 1/5/2023 - I've already used it 3 times, with a inline 4 cyl and a 3.5 v6 worked perfect!

4:20 it took 24 percent for the start based on the drop to 76 percent, assuming the display accurately reflects the cap charge level.
The 93 percent shown is after the charge is replaced by the car's charging system when it started, usually at about the 13.5 to 14V level.
The full 100% boost level is usually at about 15.5 to 16.3V on these super cap units, so 13.5 to 14 should roughly translate to to the 93% shown.
They probably base the display percentage on straight voltage and not energy, which is a voltage squared value.

The waiting depends on the battery condition, if the battery is really fucked it takes about 5 minutes. If its just a battery thats low on charge takes about 2 minutes

just got mine today - took about 40 min to charge over USB-C from an el cheapo power bank I trickle charge using a solar panel on the dash. I don't have a car to test this on (and not about to run down my battery!) so I'm gonna just hope I never need to use this and it's just an insurance policy. I found myself here because I did in fact get stuck last week up in the rural mountains and thank god I wasn't alone at the time!

    • @ureviews

This saved me a few times already! But my advice is not to keep it changed and just use either your cars almost dead battery or some other car. Takes 3 minutes or so.

@@ureviews oh yeah - that's the use case im shooting for. I wanted to make sure if my battery is too dead [and if there was no one in sight like where I was last week up in the mountains!], I had a backup way to get it fired up [and back up of the back up using solar!]

You could always just get a tiny sealed lead acid battery like from an old UPS backup to have on hand or a degraded jump pack that would be useless otherwise. That'll be enough to charge the cap pack in more reasonable time.

I got a question, do you need to wait 3 minutes every time you want to jump start a vehicle? Let's say you work at a shop and you need to jump start like 3 cars, it'll take take you more than 9 minutes to get all those 3 vehicles running? Thanks

    • @ureviews
      @ureviews  Год назад +2

Once you use it, it goes down like you saw in the video, it will discharge slowly and you would just have to top it off. It could potentially be kept plugged. But I don't know if it will shorten the life of it.

Say you do work in a shop, and have three vehicles to jump start - why would you need this since you would have a regular jump starter box. This product is designed for those that do not want to charge but are mostly afraid of the lithium batteries catching fire while keep the starter in a hot car, say in Arizona, where temperatures can exceed 160 degrees inside the vehicle. Plus, it may last 10 years as opposed to the standard 3-4 years of a lithium model. So, it actually can e justified on several models including the financial one.

I did bought one, but I ended up returning it after using it for a month. It works well on batteries that are a little discharged, but if the battery is really low it takes way too long for the jumper get to 100%, more than 30 min I would say and finally be able to jumpstart the car. For death batteries it just won't charge the jumper at all. My car battery was not that bad, it could go for a full day and I guess it just dies because it's cold. I mean it's not that cold, just about 30-50F since I live in CA. Well that was just my experience with the jumper, many other people may like it just like the pros you already mentioned before but it's just not for me, don't really have the time to be waiting every time I want to jump start my car or if the car battery is discharged but not totally death it just won't jump start the car unless you charge the jumper at home and it's already 100% charged.

@@robertogonzalez2532 If your battery fails to start your car regularly then there is obviously a problem with your battery or vehicle power system and you should get it fixed rather than continuously relying on emergency items.

It does not have AI which mean you can’t tell it to start. But mention once 100% charge you press the button and count down for 10 seconds and the. Start the engine. not tell it to start the car.

very simply you would not need this item in a shop. it is for when you are on the road and don't look pretty enough for someone to be willing to come to jumpstart you. Other battery-powered jump starters lose their charge if not plugged in regularly and then will not work. this offers the ability to use your own drained battery as a power source to jump-start or even your phone.
I am guessing 10 years' life for the capacitors is very conservative, especially considering most electronics have capacitors in them and they get much more regular use than this item would.
