I wanted to try out TAB housings because they look cool
Soundtest 1:
Board: Sho S60 in Polycarbonate with Brass bottom
Plate: Stainless Steel Plate
Plate Gaskets: EVA Foam Pads
PCB, Daughterboard: Cipulot EC Pro 2 + Lite Controller
Housings, Sliders: TAB v2 housings lubed with 204g0 (Lightning Keyboards method) silenced
2u Housings: PBB housings lubed with 205g0 and wires with BDZ
6u Stabilizer: PBB housings lubed with 205g0 and wire with BDZ
Domes: Deskeys DES BKE Tactile Tiffany 35g
Keycaps: DCS Windbreaker

Where did you get the busy town keebmat?
Totally love the DCS windbreaker set...but I thought the set only had 6.25u and that the spacebar for the build had to be 6u? I am trying to find a keycap set to use for the new Sho S60v2. Would love to hear how you did it!
For my first topre board, I have tab housings for my matrix Corsa and have no issues with it. I didn't know there were comparisons in tolerance issues between deskeys and densus EC components so I am afraid I am spoiled by the tab housings 😅.
Hello! The Windbreaker 6u centered bar was in collaboration with Ankit and I purchased it directly from pwade3.com/products/dcs-windbreaker-extras?variant=42405640929464. Unfortunately it looks like he has sold out but hopefully more DCS sets will utilise the mould in future!

wow aftermarket topre goes crazy! love the build! do you prefer the sound of the brass bottom or pc bottom?
Its hard to pick a favourite really! I think initially I liked the bassy tone of the brass bottom but lately I have been enjoying the PC bottom a little more.
I've been unable to find any aliexpress listings for those TAB housings/sliders/etc. Was considering getting some deskey, but I really like the idea of the square sliders. Has anyone managed to find these on aliexpress?

Lovely build and the final product sounds chefs kiss! I only have a RF87U and a niz board. I have been out of the custom scene, how do the aftermarket parts feel compared to OEM Topre parts? Thinking off possibly making a custom EC set for my Gok 7V thats been sitting in a box being unused lol.
Edit: I just got HHKB 45g domes to use as alphas in my realforce and not liking the combination. How do the Tiffany domes feel? close to 45g?
The tiffany domes are featherlight and very different to my stock HHKB Pro 2 domes. Domes tend to stiffen as they age and feel heavier so your experience may vary. In my opinion the tiffany domes are closer to the fresh new domes of a HHKB Hybrid Pro Type S Snow - but even then the tiffany domes are still lighter to depress (35g vs 45g). How did you update the lite controller to supprot via? I have the same thing and I can only flash it?
Hey there - VIA firmware to flash can be found here cipulot.squarespace.com/firmware. You also may need to upload the json in the design tab of VIA depending on the PCB you have.
this the coolest topre build ive ever seen, how different does it feel compared to a standard hhkb?
I think the biggest difference in feel is from the plate - since you have top mounted stainless steel vs the integrated HHKB plastic plate. So its a more defined and isolated bottom out feel with the S60. Also the aged domes in my stock HHKB Pro 2 are much more tactile in feel than the 35g BKE tactile domes I selected. I think those are the biggest things. And thank you for your comment 😊
thank you alot, i was worried that the mx conversion sliders would make it feel alot less like a topre. i think i might consider getting some now i really want to use custom keycaps on my leopold
