Short and very useful. Thanks!
i can barely hear my keyboard while using my headphones so it doesnt really matter to me but your keyboard's sound is so satisfying to hear
Same here! I always thought it was a bit odd the degree some go to for the sound of a keyboard. I get mine in the ballpark but I’m not knitpicking every frequency of every click especially because I wear headphones at some point each time I sit at my desk.
A lot of people have open back headphones that block sound like that. Or they don't use headphones all the time, and switch to speakers from time to time. Or just like to type in silence without anything playing.
I bought a motospeed keyboard for 3 euro at a flea market, and I've been modding it all day, wish me luck!
does it sound good?
@@mairabrugen1441 It sounds pretty good, could be better if I lubed the switches, but I don't feel like soldering that much.

Yappin😊
i guess im psycho for liking the click sound instead of supressed
you are not, there is a reason they sell mechanical keyboards with clicky keys
This guy neutered his keyboard
There is a reason they sell em like this cuz they don't care about sound on cheap keyboards. Its all for easy money. Sound is only a matter in expensive keyboards.
no way you made those unlubed stabilizers sound lubed without lubing them..
My exact thought
he replaced the keyboard in the second part with other having same look or model. Just take a look at right bottom button of the keyboard you'll notice difference underneath the key switch.

THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND IS BACK
I nominate this for a Pulitzer. A very condensed summary containing lots of knowledge.
this is great. any other keyboard mod video ive seen so far is just overly complicated. and they barely even tell you what to do with the keyboard like its just so overfilled with excuses and just ends up with buying a new keyboard.
Bro legit i have no idea why you need to do this. I may be weird but the first one sounded so much better
me neither

holy shit
why did that actually sounds good
DELICIOUS SOUND
thnx
it always looks like in every video someone has made about a thocky or good sounding keyboard after the mods or something, they type lightly and don't put as much force on the keys as they did before putting on the mods, which just makes me really mad for some reason.
They both sound good to me, the first before the mods even better because my brain has adapted to the sound of the corsair k95 and everyone says it sounds bad, remember guys your brain is the magician here.
...
Yeah you need a checkup
That's interesting because I had a razer ornata chroma for four years before I built my current keyboard and the instant I heard a custom keyboard I hated the sound of the chroma and couldn't wait to switch.
how to know someone hasn't tried a custom keyboard 101
@@TeeVee20105 I'm sorry, we were talking about sound not feel. Also I type like a piano so i definitely get a different feel anyway always bottoming out.

why do i like the original sounds better than the modded sounds lol

Same
Because you're not a sociopath who gets some weird sexual thrill over how pressing a button sounds.
you missed the part where you unbent the stab wire, lubed the stab wire , holee mod the stab wire then putting the stabs back
do [heat]shrinkwrap mod instead. Does exactly the same thing as holee, less hassle for application and longer lasting as you don't rely on an adhesive that may or may not fail depending on your application.

TYSM MY KEYBOARD IS THOCK AS F-
GENIUS
besides adding foam at the bottom, this is pretty solid :)
why?
@@piesaturn6282 wyin is wrong, add foam to ur boards
@@vegaplus420 yea ik the are but i wanna see his take
What I took away from this is that even the cheaply crappy keyboards sound surprisingly good by default.
I honestly prefer the first one, just because the pinginess isnt as audible. Without the ping the after sounds 1000x better but when the keyboard sound becomes that low and deep it contrasts the ping so much I can still hear it ringing in my ears after the video has stopped.
He can just lube the springs and it’ll be fine. And lubing the switches. And changing the keycaps. Modding keyboards is a pain 😭
Yea, it really feels like he stopped short of what was to be a great mod. Just a little more work to fix the pinginess and it would have been amazing in comparison to the original.
@jacekmakes fair point, I guess I'm a rare kind who feels the need to lube switches no matter the quality out of the box. However, even just doing the springs with a simple bag lubing would make a huge difference and isn't anywhere near as time consuming as switch lubing. 🤷
@jacekmakes I'm right there with you mate, but lubing springs can be an easy fix to pinging and crunchiness. Like I said I would do it all if I already bothered to open the switches in the first place. 😂
his before sounds like my keyboard after tape mod, a DAMN yoga mat inside the base and lubing
Tysm bro!I was like mom I want a new keyboard
The obsession with sound dampening is unreal. 😂
it's still gonna sound hollow and pingy due to the stock springs and keycaps and overall spacing but yes, you can basically make any keeb thock with JUST THAT LIST of easy (basically what everyone should do with a new keeb) mods!
maybe lube would help
keeb thock? im really glad im not in my keyboard phase anymore
I cant believe I just witnessed a human being say the word keeb

in just 39 seconds you found the problem to my life. what a legend.
finally, a fast one
I got a $25 low profile mechanical keyboard with red switch, without any of those mod the sound is not rattly even with a faint hint of ping it's good enough
Some boards good out of the box.
Sounded better before tbh
DAYUM How a spacebar go from that clicky to smooth and thocky? Impressive
Oo sound so good
your spacebar is upside down
I'm so poor I thought the original sounded good 😅
bet u cant to membrane keyboard! Love ur vids my guyy
the pinging would drive me insaned
What type of foam do you use? It honestly looks like tissue paper you put in haha
That is 100% paper tissues
This is admirable work, but you really shouldn't put tissue paper near battery like that, because it could be a fire hazard. You don't think it could happen until it does. I had a battery exploded on me once (thank goodness it just caused a lout pop and not a fire). There are safer materials to dampen the keyboard ping. Having said that you've done a really good job on this keyboard, there's still a clear difference between this and a $75 or $100 keyboard nowadays. And prices have gotten real competitive in the mechanical keyboard space, where the cost of materials to make a $25 board to sound like a $75 board is almost the same as paying extra to buy directly from manufacturers without modding yourself. Of course, people can still mod and tweak to personalize their board, but people no longer have to work really hard to make their keyboard "not suck".
is it fine to use tissues inside a keyboard without a battery, just plug in?
@@zelusvfx4933 l'm not sure what happens if you don't use the keyboard on battery mode, but I think I saw a battery in your keyboard. Just be careful adding dampening material if you have battery pack.
You forgot the perfectly cut little grunt at the end.
Idk why, but I kinda like the bad sound more, the thock never really tickled my fancy
the tissues, are they the like the toiled paper ones or like the wet wipes ones? there are dry wipes these are the ones you used right?

yup. must have modded/swtiched out the stabilizers. Its absolutely possible he made it sound like this but the list of mods is misleading.
i have a hyperx alloy origins core and i want to solve it's spacebar rattle without unscrewing it, any help ?
You can put some switch lube into the stabilizers without unscrewing the board. Take the space keycap off, grab one side of stabilizer with your hands/tweezers, and lube the stabilizer.
That actually sounds a lot better
