I can only hope Honda engineers don't listen to you. I don't need an over powered, turbo charged maintenance nightmare. Ford,Ram, Toyota and GM can meet your needs. Leave the Ridgeline alone.
agreed! this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, the honda fleet is awesome from an engineering standpoint and consumer, this guy is a whacked job
First world problems. It’s a truck for people who need a truck once a year. It’s an suv with a bed, and it’s meant to be that. It’s not going off road, it’s not towing, it’s not hauling. It’s going to the shops or the soccer field. Stop being so negative with a car that perfectly meets the needs of the people who buy it.
I don't own one, but I like it very much. There are many more things to like about it than not. The one thing I would change is to bring back a traditional gear shifter.
Better build quality than a Hyundai Santa Cruz! A Honda will last much longer and have better resale value, too. I think Honda D&D did a good job. Toyota would have been the first with the A-BAT model had they gone into production with it. But management pulled the plug on it.

I don't own a Ridgeline, but I think it's a very good vehicle for many reasons. Nothing's perfect, but this truck fills in 10 positive holes for every nit-picking negative trait.
I purchased a 2023 Ridgeline RTL about a year ago and my only complaint is it needs cooled seats and a better radio other than that its a great mid sized truck. Its not made for rock crawling or mud bogging but when is the last time you did that with a new truck and if you did you have more money than brains. The ridgeline will cruse on the interstate at 90 and only turns 2K and get 24 mpg, it redlines at about 6800. With the 9 speed it gets the most out of the 280 horse V6 it never feels like it doesn't have enough power. It also rides and handles well, it doesn't have a tow mode but it does have a sport mode that can be used like a tow mode if you know how to drive. It has tons of room in the front a back, it also has a trunk that's big enough to get it. I'm also glad that people think the Ridgeline needs to be something it is not because you can get a real good deal on one, that's another reason I went with it.
I like the truck very much. The only thing I would change is to bring back the traditional gear shifter. I'm not a towing expert, but I currently drive a crossover with an engine and size similar to the Ridgeline. Mine did not come with tow haul mode. I simply went to U Haul and had a hitch and a controller installed, and then added a tranny cooler. My unit tows 4K fairly easily, and I've watched several Ridgeline videos where the owners easily towed 5K, even through mountain passes. Enjoy your truck!
You're opinion is juvenile at best....Rather than challenge your clear hate for the brand, try watching what every other journalist has to say about the truck and brand you obviously hate.
I'm looking at a Ridgeline, the bed is much nicer for hauling sheet goods than the tacoma , ranger etc. Im not going off road in it and not towing construction equipment like a back hoe. It's great for what it's made for.
Just bought a new Black RTL today. 2.9 % interest rate. Has everything I need and more. I only put 8 miles on during test drive and did not leave the dealership until late, so I Can’t wait to drive it first thing in the morning. I have spent several months researching new vehicles to purchase and ultimately chose the Ridgeline over other makes and models.
2023 Ridgeline sport here. Honestly not a bad choice for someone who's not into trucks. Traded in my Xs 2019 CRV for this just to get her off my credit line and I ended up liking it more than I thought. Considering I had to get something bigger and practical than a 2016 modified 370z for my toddlers day to day adventures I would recommend it as a dad truck. Especially with the built in cooler/trunk trips to the beach have been nice. Also My fellow single dads/gents get one without the center arm rest in the way 👍 you'll thank me later.
Ridgelines are great! Far and and away more comfortable than ANY other truck out there (by a mile)! Thank God they don't look like the new Tacoma, inside or out. I did need a good laugh today so thank you for the comedy.
Though I agree with you that the Ridgeline is outdated it is the perfect pickup for us. The swing open tail gate is a back injury saver it is easy to drive. We love our 2024 Ridgeline Trailsport. Believe it or not we get compliments on it often!
For everyone going to the comments early, for every item on this list except for two, he just said the design choices were boring. The exceptions were a complaint that there's no offroad mode selection (but he was wrong, it does have that feature), and he was upset that the tow and cargo capacities were lacking (something to be expected on a unibody design, but the ridgeline still matches most of the midsize segment. He then misquotes another truck's tow capacity). All in all, the guy really didn't do his research before making this video, he just looked at a few pictures and spitballed a few superficial things to complain about.
This video is misleading and seems to have been created by someone who dislikes the Ridgeline. First, the truck's bed payload capacity is 1,600 lbs, and it tows 5,000 lbs comfortably. While I agree it could use more power, it's still quick enough in sport mode. For comparison, a brand new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro accelerates from 0-60 MPH in 7.1 seconds, while a base model Ridgeline achieves this in 6.2 seconds, thanks to its i-VTEC J35 engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that allows for paddle shifting. I own a 2021 Ridgeline and often take my family on long road trips to RV parks without any issues. The truck bed is covered by a Diamondback cover and features a Yakima low-profile ladder rack for my Yakima Deepspace box and bikes. Additionally, I tow a Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH RV trailer that sleeps up to five people. I hope this clarifies any confusion stemming from the biased perspective of this RUclips video.
just traded in my 2019 ridgeline with 119k on it (bought new). I had bad luck with transmission jutters/clunks/fluid pressure sensors dying since 50k...then got hit with the fuel injector defects and AC compressor failure. It wasn't a bad vehicle by any means, but I knew major bills were coming soon even after maintaining it well and mainly highway miles. This video is a little too negative unnecessarily.
Ridgeline is a vehicle that will last! All the other Turbo charged mid size trucks are not proven! Who cares about interior design? These company are more concerned about "bells and whistles" on cars/trucks than reliablitily.
Glad I didn’t listen to all these over rated snobs. I bought a 2024 RTL. All the power I need, adequate bed for what I occasionally haul, never drive off-road, nice seats, comfortable ride, and I don’t have to climb into it or fall out of it. Plus I like the swing out tailgate and the trunk compartment.
Coming from a Silverado LT, which I loved, decided to downsize as I no longer had the need to carry big loads. Tried the Tacoma. Ride was stiff, cramped, and noisy. Unbearable. Ridgeline was an easy call.
It's always the best to buy your needs. If your idea of need and practicality is flying up mountain sides in a 40k pickup terrorizing mountain goats, so be it. Here in the mid-west, we need vehicles that are dependable in -25 ' weather on snow and icy roads. I drove a Chevy Colorado and really wanted to like it. They are a very nice-looking vehicle. It was very cramped inside and the engine was too noisy inside the cab for comfort. The dash did light up like Time Square if that is important to you. My 2024 Ridgeline RTL is roomy, comfortable, and quiet inside. The engine has plenty of power to pass anything you need to anytime you want to. It has the most storage available of anything in its class. you can lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the bed and it's carrying capacity is not that much less. If you need to tow 8k or more, you should consider a full-sized pickup. It is over-priced and the 9sp transmission is a little too busy. But so is the 8sp. The collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control is overly sensitive. I would like to see Honda release a patch, but they rarely do anything unless they are forced into it. Like all vehicles today, they are over engineered. I don't care for the cylinder mismanagement, or the stop start but there are aftermarket kits available to take care of those. I'm not wild about the console electric shift, but even the Corvettes and the Lambros have that.
I have had many Honda Ridgelines......over the years. Starting with GEN 1 back in 2005 or 06-when ever Gen 1 hit the scene. Ergonomics, gear shifts, towing, "the feel of the engine" , the engine being "long in the tooth" rock-crawling was never a consideration. Reliability was THE consideration!! When you live in a very rural area and you are miles and miles and miles from hospitals and the nearest Walmart-- you need a reliable truck: the Honda Ridgeline is what you need. Your argument seems to be that of a man who likes to engage in highly abstract debates for very specific reasons: money, ego.....who knows...? If I had to tow 8,000 lbs every other day or if I did hard-core off-roading or if I cared about rock-crawling: Would I buy a Honda Ridgeline? Of course not! Thanks for the laugh when you said "people fall asleep looking..." at the Honda Trailsport for 2024!! To each his own!
I don't own a Ridgeline, but I've watched MANY lengthy reviews about them. I like almost everything about this truck. The only thing I would change is to bring back the traditional gear shifter. Enjoy your truck!

You should think about reviewing food instead of trucks. The Honda does just fine off road given it's ground clearance, and that motor will last forever. Comparing a Corolla GR to a Honda Ridgeline is just crazy.
Not everybody buys a truck for offroading. Some people just need a reliable truck that can pull a small trailer , get you around in rain, ice, and snow without pretending you can go rock crawling. No rocks in Louisiana.
Out. I can't watch the rest of this. We know it's not a truck. It's a car with a bed. And a very smooth ride. You didn't mention that. If you want to bash something, bash the PRICE. They are WAY overpriced for what you get.
The v-6 is fine, the transmission is smoother than butter, the interior is fine and super comfortable, we don't go off-road, once again with the design obsession, I'm not even sure what the 6th problem is supposed to be other than this guy doesn't like it. I love my Ridgeline, smooth comfortable ride, great for hauling stuff around town. I think everybody knows it's not an off-road or camper towing type of truck. It's absolutely the best tailgate truck with the built in ice chest and pickup bed speakers.
I am looking at the ridgeline build now for 25. It's clearly out in front. AWD system as the default selection. If we're comparing new to new. You should be clear in that distinction. This review comes off as childish overall. I don't even own one, but shit reviews are shit.
Honestly, I loved my Ridgeline - a fantastic “truck.” However, I did not love pulling up to the gas pump! I replaced it with a PHEV and mostly plug-in and drive cheap, but can still run HEV for longer road trips.
The V6 that honda in these Ridgelines is an old engine with single overhead cam and VCM. Why the hell is Honda using a single overhead cam engine in any vehicle and why the hell would anyone put VCM in a truck? Well because these Ridgelines arent trucks. They are meant for people that want a truck but need a minivan, because this thing is a minivan with a truck bed; a pickup if you will but not a pickup truck.
Yikes, yikes, showing your young age. You have been brain washed by Apple, every new model has to have a zillion new features or it's oh so last week. You are ridiculous with your over-barring complaints. Everyone wants on of these because they are so useful and reliable. You are not the trend setter for interiors. I’ll go buy one just because you are so negative.
it is obvious this person has not owned or driven a ridgeline i have two a 2017 and a 2019 almost 190,000 mile between the two. while not perfect i do hope HONDA does not lision to this review and total will mess the ridgeline up with a 4 cylinder turbo high maintance issue. while a slight power increase may sound good it is not needed. i do wish the transmission shifter was in the 2024 i do not want a fancy dash i like simple and eaSY. That's the correct answer.
🤡 post.
Bam!
You are ridiculous with your over-barring complaints. Everyone wants on of these because they are so useful and reliable. You are not the trend setter for interiors. I’ll go buy one just because you are so negative.
Absolutely!
This video was made by a Honda Ridgeline hater
you people haven't got a bloody clue what us consumers want and need
He seems to really hate the ridge line
one of the worst bs click bait ads I have ever seen on you tube . Some people just like to hear themselves talk .
Unibody, gas engine? It's not even a truck
Nissan usa...no wonder you're dogging the Ridgeline.😅
it is obvious this person has not owned or driven a ridgeline i have two a 2017 and a 2019 almost 190,000 mile between the two. while not perfect i do hope HONDA does not lision to this review and total will mess the ridgeline up with a 4 cylinder turbo high maintance issue. while a slight power increase may sound good it is not needed. i do wish the transmission shifter was in the 2024 i do not want a fancy dash i like simple and eaSY. THIS REVIEWER NEEDS TO FIND BETTER LINE OF WORK
Crazy man you compare with yaris gr 😂 and Nissan frontier the bad pick up on market you said the spaceful cabin its bad and ugly maybe you shorty but its comfort the most important in trucks i dont have one but you dont know nothing 😂😂
wahhh, it's a Honda. nuff said.
HORRIBLE points and comparisons.
Its fine, its a street truck, and its Vtech v6 boring and its faster 0-60 than the Frontier and it does have a drive select, for road, sand, mud, and snow wtf...this video is brain dead lol
Horrible review! You mist the entire point! Nonsense guys and girls are sick of KIDDY-TOY designs like Tacoma that’s why they are not selling!
Useless “review”
This is terrible. The video, not the truck.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions, this was just a poor example of stating them. Should rename the title of this video. I wouldn't call the majority of what you said problems. Thumbs down on this one 👎. That's just MY opinion 😂.
you are so wrong
TURBOS ARE THE WORST. Terrible video, the Ridgeline is one of the most reliable trucks. American cars are overpriced pieces of garbage. I agree with the entertainment system but I like the buttons. Means less money to spend to fix.

Honda CEO should FIRED all the Engineers for making lousy and V6 Timing Belt.
