I had one of those but a 4 door as my first car ten years ago. ended up gutting it, cut the springs in half and side pipe exhaust lmao. They do mean key bangs

change the spark plugs, knowing that engine they're pretty clogged up on carbon buildup, check the spark plugs cables bc they rot like crazy, that carb isn't made for blow-through, you should put the carb before the turbo or DIY the crappiest one-point injection, I can't wait till next video!
We never had the problem of fouled spark plugs or carbon build up.

Guys you need to have the turbo return higher than the entry of the sump it’s gravity drained and what you have isn’t returning to the dump it’s just blocking up in the hose and the oil is now blocked and leaking back through through seals in the turbo

Need to efi it, under boost you need to retard the timing. And when you do get real boost into a carb it usually pushes all the fuel out under pressure. To do a carb you need do some serious fab and move the carb to the inlet of the turbo
Also I'd probably get rid the whole intercooler setup, just more room for boost leaks, that hairdryer probably don't need it at moment
Definitely got a sub that's quite clean for its age should make it 4wd would be a blast
I was working towards that to rwd swap it but parts are pretty rear.

I believe it's off a VW transporter 2.5 tdi. Cheapest I could find would not necessarily recommend 😆 Rolla gang!

O my fuck, I use to drive this exact same pos car, to many kms and time was spent in the thing. Kak car. Bought a Golf Mk1 CTi very quicly after it.
Good to see you boys making stuff and having fun but just make sure you wear proper PPE like safety glasses and when you are welding, wear gloves. This will make sure you can keep doing this stuff long into the future without ruining your bodies. And don't forget earmuffs! It's really important to wear hearing protection, so you don't stuff your hearing for no reason! You want to be able to go out with your lover and be able to actually hear what they say.
they spilt oil on the road and smoked out the whole suburb with some embarassing illegal motor use. unfortunately they werent stopped and impounded on this occasion for the safety of the public
@@davidopitz972 This sort of thing was extremely common over 20 years ago, to the level where people would weld two cars together and make a convertible limousine. This stuff isn't very common any more and is probably providing less risk to the public than the amount of aggressively driven double cab utes on the road these days.

lol the oil return is not pressurized its gravity fed and should only be pointing down and return into sump above the oil level or the oil will just blow through the turbo seals like its doing because it cant go up hill to return properly. The turbo needs to ne mounted higher to fix issue, much higher lol
idk what motor that is but use the dipstick for sure does it have a windage tray and i think yall can make a catch can and did yall do any timing

I didn't see the whole build as I was also sealing up a crack in my lounge with space invader so I didn't see if you had some way of increasing the fuel supply pressure as otherwise you will run low on fuel under boost.
I know this is for fun , but you wont see results with a carb setup, just not made to work that way.
Ypu should try a draw through setup instead. Current carb and fuel pressure aren't made for a blow through. As soon as you hit boost the fuel pressure will be negative and the bowl will be dry.

i got an rolla 1990 w less than 30,000kms looking to do alot of things w it but first clean it up, then maybe add an holley sniper efi to change out my carby and a mad straight exhaust
Hard
Pull plugs and check comp - if no gauge you can at least do a comparison feel of pressure with your finger. Brand new copper plugs in and hope it runs on all 4, as she’s down 1 at the moment. Unwind carb mix screw to run as rich as possible, and retard the timing to avoid detonation. Get 98 fuel into it, and see if you can find some ethanol to blend in at a 10% ratio. Hot tip : ‘Andrew’ brand methylated spirits from Mitre10 is 99% ethanol if you can’t it elsewhere. That’ll give you a couple more octane points to get you over 100 once mixed with 98.
