    Thank you for posting this video! We were having the same issue with our washing machine. We replaced the suspension rods, and our machine has been running great ever since- no more unbalanced load errors!

    Thanks for posting this. Was having the uL error message during almost every load no matter the size. Washer is 10 years old so figured this was probably the trouble. Ordered replacement kit from Amazon and installed in about an hour. I only did 1 rod at a time so I wouldn’t have to support the tub from below, but otherwise followed your method. Washer back to working just fine with no more uL error problems! 16:05

      @JoesGarageProductionsLLC hi 👋 I have this same washer and it won't complete a wash cycle. It fills up, spins and drains, but doesn't drain complete. And it only cycles for about 10 minutes.

    Food for thought. If the backs off or been off that back, it helps keep the cabinet squared and stable
    Screws should be checked they may need retighting. The worn suspension may vibrates so badly they work loose. Or if the backs been taken off they may have not been sufficiently torqued. If they're striped replace with slightly larger ones. Also make sure no screws are missing obiviously. It's possible after repairing the possibility exists they weren't torqued enough. Ran into this yesterday. Noticed after replacing the entire suspension. Id say its a result of the excessive shaking working the panel screws loose. It doesnt cause the excessive shaking but contributes to not eliminating as much shake as possible. Even with new suspension . Also those black sound buffer padding on the top inside of panels. Some the excessive shaking will tear them up. Without them you make get some vibration and tapping. Even with new suspension For example the occasional clothes out of balance issue. Nice video.

    Thank you very much for posting this video. I am having the same problem with my Whirpool Cabrio washer.Even though I am a female senior, I am planning to replace the suspension rods as you did.
    By the way, could you please make a video about how to open and clean the same Whirpool Cabrio washer? I would like to clean all the debris inside my washer, but I do not know how to open it. Thank you very much in advance!

    If I run machine in garage vs in house, and if house washer room has a crawl space or floor beneath it, u will always get a smoother spin cycle in garage due to cement floor won't give. In the house, they will always shake more, especially in today's cheap homes on 2nd floor. I've seen a few that shook pictures off walls in the room beneath them. Even had 1 customer who sold her brand new Samsung set bc her wash room just couldn't handle the spin speed of that model. So it's not always a part fault, sometimes it's a combo of cheap flooring, off level, and abusive loading from human.

    Hello, through my research and understanding the clear plastic bulb above the spring are loaded with some sort of dampening grease which provide lots of friction. As time goes on the grease wears off (smearing out across the rod) causing more movement and therefore the unbalance problem. Clearly these rods design to fail at some point! 🤔

      There is another video showing how these caps can be secured in place using safety pins. Haven’t tried it yet but looking forward to it! Especially since a co-worker is having trouble with their machine as well.

    from what ive seen if theres no broken parts so if you look how the tub is sitting in there it hangs from the springs so it has to hold all that weight and we watched how easy it was for you to compress the old springs and how stiff the new springs are so my guess would be weak springs unless there is something else going on in the bottom under the tub. or it could be the rods are slipping away from those top white pieces and the new and improved ones has the locking feature to prevent that from happening

    From my understanding the white plastic part has drag on it when it slides up and down. Once their is quite a bit of wear it's to loose and the white plastic will slide up and down with no drag causing it to bounce and then you will get a code. Ebay and Amazon usually carries the suspension rod assembly.

    so we have replaced rods and checked stator is not cracked? Ordered the position sensor. But this unit does make the load roaring noise like the bearings may be bad, Could that cause the UL error code? at this point im thinking just replace washer?

    The springs definitely lose their stiffness over time. Ten years is a long time for those springs. Even your display of pushing on the spring indicated a noticeable difference.

    • @JoesGarageProductionsLLC
      @JoesGarageProductionsLLC  Год назад

      If there was a difference it was very subtle. But yeah, from what I've read you are right. They do have a finite lifespan. Working perfectly now though!

    The 'cap' on top of the spring isn't supposed to slide easily. It's supposed to drag and act as a dampener to the motion.

  • @gloriam.5062

    I’ve been having this same problem, except that the cycle runs until the spin cycle and then starts banging and gives the ul code. However, if I turn the machine off and change the setting to drain and spin it runs that cycle fine and clothes turn out the same as if they had finished the original cycle. I would think that if it was the suspension rods it wouldn’t run the drain and spin cycle fine without the banging and the ul code. What are your thoughts? Thank you!

    • @JoesGarageProductionsLLC
      @JoesGarageProductionsLLC  Год назад

      Boy that does seem like odd behavior. I will say that over time, the UL code was getting more and more common. After having replaced the suspension rods, I think I've seen it maybe once? I would take it apart and just try lubricating them before you replace them. Though my machine is over 10 years old, the suspension rods actually looked to be in pretty good shape to my untrained eye. They just needed a little lubrication.

    • @cadenredpath
      @cadenredpath Год назад

      Hey I have the same issue, it doesn’t agitate the clothes (spin one way and then the other), it will only spin in one direction. I already replaced the rods, and it does it still. Did you ever fix this problem?

      Just moved our aged washer into our new home and it does exactly this, leaving clothes soaked.
      Manually activate the drain/spin cycle and it goes just fine. Seems like maybe a reset would solve it? Going to keep in trying
